Great location and very great views. Some things could be better maintained.

Beautiful views, great location to walking trail and beach. Dining was good but there were lots of children which wasn’t a big deal just something to be aware of. Live music was a fun touch!

Great location, comfortable, clean and spacious rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

The location and the main areas are very nice. However, the rooms are very outdated. The beds are uncomfortable. The restaurant is ok but not what you’d expect.

Friendly helpful staff, beautiful setting !

I would have scored higher for our one night stay but unfortunately whilst in our room my daughter opened the doors of the cupboard in the bedroom and the wardrobe fell over on top of her. Thankfully the top landed on the bed leaving space between floor and her. Dread to think what I would dealing with if the bed wasn’t there. Informed staff on checkout to ensure all wardrobes are checked and secured as the carpet leaves it very wobbly so need secured. The weight of the doors was enough to topple the wardrobe.

The views are amazing!

Admired the quality of furnishings in the lobby and the quality of the rich carpet. The lanterns in the hallways added an ambience to the lighting.
The house keeping staff were warm and friendly. They work really hard and you can see that they keep the place well. Very hard working.
The gentleman in the spa, pool, sauna, steam room facilities was so kind and helpful.
Thank you.

Friendly and helpful staff. Food good. Dreadfully outdated en-suite a real let down: chipped paintwork, mouldy grouting, primitive shower and facilities. Total contrast to the public areas which were up to date, comfortable and well presented. A good hotel sadly let down by the standard of the rooms.

We stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel to be very cold and dated. The room we where staying in had windows you could hear the wind blowing through and the rain actually came through the window. Could be doing with a referb.

Nice and clean. Beds smaller than expected and therefore a bit uncomfortable. Staff and grounds very nice

Staff was robotic but polite. Good at the restaurant was poor for a four star hotel. I stayed here 4 years ago and it was much better. Will not be returning.

Too many small children running about and being very loud. Other than that, everything was great.

we have just stayed in 3 different hotels over the last 3 nights and the great northern was a lot more expensive than the other two but we didn’t feel that it warranted the higher price.

Family trip. We stayed there for 1 night only. The hotel looks grand from the outside but is very dated inside. Staff were all friendly.

Real nice hotel. Spectacular Atlantic location.
Nearby town, Bundoran, is a pretty dire place.
Hotel is large, quiet (rooms) and very comfortable.

Where to begin,? The day before our arrival I contacted the hotel to amend our booking, eventually having spoken to three individuals I was finally informed that as I'd booked via a third party agent/website that the hotel had no power to amend the booking, it was completely beyond their control. I dubiously accepted this explanation despite the obvious and very stinking wiff of bovine fecal matter that came with it. Fair enough. Benefit of the doubt etc,. On arrival at check-in the following day, my wife was able to amend the booking there and then without a single utterance of protest, amazing.
So firstly in our list of complaints about this shambles of a hotel, you have staff that are more than willing to simply lie to guests over the phone for the sake of what seems their own convenience. Strap in, because from here it's a free fall spiral downhill at break neck speed.
We're checked in, and informed the elevator is out of order, " would ya like help getting your bags up to the room"? The receptionist asked. Hmm, I would have liked if a porter had already met me either in the car park or lobby with a trolley, ready and eager to ferry our luggage to our room, family of five three young children, basic, a no brainer. You know simple service one would expect from any " four star hotel". It's already way too late now to make any kind of impression, I clap back. " don't trouble yourself, sit back down there". Imagine, this individual actually asked this question. This should

We approached the desk at check in we were 30 minutes early for check in a lot of hotels would accommodate the customer as we wanted to make the most of our stay as it was my sons birthday. But had to wait thats fine until we found tea/coffee stains on the bedding hair in the shower. Rooms are nice and big for space for kids and and swimming pool is good for kids though we were lucky to get a spot which meant we were rushing before checkout to fit in breakfast and the pool. We did enjoy our stay but wouldn't be rushing back.

We had a great stay the room was great. It was spacious and comfortable and clean. The leisure facilities were great and the staff were so accommodating. Great place!

Hotel was clean. Room was spacious. Over all, lots of positives including friendly staff. Breakfast was disappointing - dire coffee and thought most breakfast options were of poor quality. It filled a gap but definitely not four star.

Lovely hotel overlooking the sea and golf club. Friendly staff. Food in restaurant lovely. We ate in bar one evening but there may be a problem in the kitchen that evening as there was a long delay. Seating in bar area very comfortable. Lovely walk way passing the hotel. Beach a few minutes walk away. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly efficient service in a lovely picturesque location and ideally suited for exploring the lovely sights in the locality.
On the downside we encountered plumbing issues in our room and though reported were not resolved during our stay, I'm sure this was an isolated case as everything else was good about the hotel
