We loved our stay here. The room, facilities, dining, and staff were all superb.
2.5
Excellent service from start to finish. Hotel is spotless and the breakfast was very good.

Loved our stay here! Would definitely go back. The staff are so lovely and helpful they work so hard.
Spa was great too. The area is super chilled and great food and friendly hospitality.
Only thing would say is the Wi-Fi isn’t perfect but think that’s Greece in general.

Definitely not a 5-star property. I have seen better 3-star properties with better amenities and facilities.

Nice Hotel but obviously Covid is still restricting staff levels. Room comfortable but not as described on Hotels.com. Room did not have hot tub which was in the description. Only got 2 small bottles of water on first day. Had to keep asking for cups/t-bags. Cleaning not great and no towels on 2 days. Other guests in hotel were returning customers and they were disappointed with the changes/issues. Would return to the area again but not that hotel. At the moment it is not 5* as advertised

Big spacious room with great view, perfectly equipped with both shower and massage bath tub. We could not ask for more! Staff was extremely helpful and very kind. Despite corona virus outbreak, service was not affected - I would say that being served exclusively by staff is even better than having access to buffet. Food and drinks were simply delicious - just like you would expect from a 5* hotel. Very quiet location, not overly touristy like other locations we visited. We are looking forward to visit this hotel in a future!

We booked a suite with private pool thinking that the price and reviews made it sound like a 5 star experience. It came very highly rated, which is very surprising and makes the whole peer review exercise unreliable for future bookings.
Our room was really in terrible condition. The pictures do not show how much wear and tear the hotel is under. The blue couch in our room was marked with brown from dirt and the towels had holes in them (see photos). Not to mention that the floors had the grout scrubbed white but the rest of the tiles they did not clean... The staff was kind and apologetic but there is nothing they can do.
Just beware when you book not to pay a premium which is non refundable... Other rooms may be better and are much cheaper. The pool is nice.
The dinner is not to our taste (we prefer the local Taverna food) but included in the rate, so a cheaper solution.
Their COVID sanitation is likely to standards.
I left and felt cheated and disappointed. Luckily we booked for one night and left for a luxury five star hotel at the same price.

Very nice hotel with many facilities in a good location. We had a great room in front of the pool. Groomers and waiters were courteous and helpful. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and dinner everyday.

I'll start off by saying the reception staff were excellent from even before my arrival. I had high expectations of the hotel as it is a 5* and has such fantastic reviews, but I was a little disappointed.
The food is not as good as I'd expect - breakfast is fine, starters and desserts at dinner are ok, but mains are not great. Every option seemed to taste pretty similar with similar vegetable accompaniments/sauce each night. The cooking of the meat for mains was not of a consistent quality.
We had a room with individual pool which was nice, but not quite as special as I'd thought. The outside walls between the rooms with pools is very low so had our neighbours been out more it wouldn't have felt private at all.
We tried the spa as when we booked it came with a complimentary massage. The spa was nice, and massage was fine, although didn't appreciate the masseuses whispering to each other throughout, quite distracting from this relaxing experience.
The town itself really does not have much at all, so it's a good thing we were looking for only a relaxing holiday where we'd stay in the hotel the whole time. Not very picturesque.
Overall slightly disappointing - the hotel overall seems a bit out of place in this location, and with some improved dining options and a more luxurious feel I would agree with a 5* rating; as is I found it more of a solid 4*.

We wanted a week to chill ot and that is exactly what we had and will give some seriuos thought to returning next year.

Although I’m a mother of two I never truly realised how lovely it was to swim in a pool, relax on a lounger with a book, or eat a meal in the company of adults only, with no children around. A truly peaceful stay. All staff members are amazing and go above and beyond to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

Hotel was adequate but lacked some of the final finishing touches eg gym equipment lacking and not in great condition, had to ask for housekeeping to clean room, pool area needs more constant attention and pool towels generally in poor condition. Staff and management are trying hard but lacked atmosphere and finishing touches

The hotel is beautifully set up with much focus on privacy, completely secluded and quiet.
We had a junior suite with private pool and it was excellent! Very spacious room, modern decor, perfect size pool and terrasse. Staff is highly professional delivering all your wishes.
Food is very good, lots of local produce, every day different choices on the buffets, good quality and many local wines to saviour.
Overall great experience and worth its price!

Staff were wonderful helpful and friendly.
We were upgraded to a split level suite which we did not expect it was immaculate and we had a pool, sea view and a view of a beautiful church. Shower was fantastic and the bed huge and so comfy. Breakfast was nice with fresh orange and an omelette making station. We did not have dinner but wished we had tried one night. We had a couple of lunches which were fantastic.never had a problem getting a sunbed and the pool was lovely.
We loved our stay at Castello and Sissi is a fantastic resort. Probably the nicest hotel we have stayed in all our travels around Greece!
Hope to return one day

Service was outstanding and seamless, just what I would expect from a hotel like this. Eventhough we only stayed for one night it was very comfortable and we felt right at home. Breakfast was included in our hotel room and the pool was clean and nice to swim in. We didn’t get a chance to explore the area but heard that there are a few beaches within walking distance that are beautiful.

Further from the beach than shown on the photos. Room was excellent but disappointed in the restaurant - standard of food and staff not that of a five star.
Very little entertainment but the one we did see water aerobics was excellent.

Greta little resort, friendly people, very reasonable prices, good choice of bars and restaurants

Very friendly and pleasant hotel to relax. It’s a boutique and very private. Never overcrowded pools. Lovely restaurant. Chef is very imaginative. A la cart menu is nicely presented. Staff can’t be more helpful. Drinks are served in style in nice glasses and local wine list is very impressive. Rooms are well appointed with private pools and great bathrooms with jacuzzi and rainman showers. Overall we had a great time.

Lovely to stay at a smaller luxury hotel. Food, staff and everything else excellent.

It was our fifth or sixth time at the hotel and it was as good as ever. The room with the private pool is lovely and private and the staff are all helpful and friendly. The hotel is exceptionally clean and I am sure the maid would clean the room twice a day if you let her ! We will return next year

The trip was excellent. The accommodation itself was perfect, as well as its location in relation to the local village. Sissi itself is a lovely place to visit , lots of nice bars and restaurants. The Castello Boutique Resort is a great place to relax and enjoy yourself.

We loved our stay at the Castello. It is a beautiful, peaceful hotel. The staff are incredibly professional, helpful and polite. The room was modern, large and spotless and loved having our own pool. The breakfast was a delicious spread. There are very nice beaches a short walk away. Overall our stay was perfect and would highly recommend the hotel!

This hotel was absolutely perfect and an incredible stay for me and my partner. The staff were fantastic, the hotel was stunning, the food was incredible. We went for the suite with the private pool and i would highly recommend this if you are to stay in this hotel.

Hotel itself was beautiful, and quiet. Staff were friendly and wonderful. Sissi doesn't have sandy beaches but worth having a car in Crete and exploring the area.

The first welcoming by Eleni and the help staff (the guy who welcomes and carries luggage, and the guy who brings lemonade) is all this hotel has to offer (the massage was good too). Other than that, no quality or hospitality to be found there. Totally undeserved 5-star rating, with problematic wi-fi connectivity, and rude restaurant (breakfast) staff. We stayed two nights and the only things I remember is that people are not allowed to eat breakfast in their swimsuit (we were asked to leave the restaurant and come back with "decent" clothes - at 8am), there is no reason at all to put the "do not disturb" sign, because they're going to disturb you either way with mini-bar checks or request to clean up, and that the pool is very small and kinda dirty. And most importantly, that during the night there is no one to bring water, you are asked to go downstairs on your own and check with the bar tender. Also, there was no option for late checkout because "other people have reserved the room and are on their way" (the hotel was not even at half capacity), the lead receptionist - Maura I think is her name - insisted so much that we were asked to immediately go upstairs (we were on our way for a walk) to pack our stuff. We found her behavior very impolite, and that's a shame. In general, disappointment, frustration, and disgust with the whole experience, truly. If you respect your relaxation time and your money I would definitely NOT recommend Castello.

My husband and myself had a lovely relaxing stay at the Costello Boutique, our room was very comfortable and clean and we received a bottle of water, a bottle of wine and a plate of fruit when we arrived. The dinning room was open until 10pm so we were able to enjoy a lovely meal when we arrived. Not much has changed in Sissi since we were last there 3 years ago so would go back for the hotel rather than Sissi itself which is a little run down

The property was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everything! This hotel was smack in the middle of our 6 week honeymoon, so we got a room with a plunge pool, and rarely left the room! We had perfect sun, private pool, meals delivered to the room and took advantage of the spa. The serenity of this hotel was exactly what we needed! There isn't much to do in the immediate area, but that's okay if you want a quiet, romantic escape. Great staff and great food! The spa facility is definitely recommended!

Stayed for two nights in a pool villa. hotel accessed by steps, no alternative, although Thomas helped us with our bags and he even re parked our car. Reception area stunning, staff charming. Also met and greeted by the manager, a charming women. Large pool and surrounds, even larger bar! Very quiet. So far impressed.
PoolVilla:
More steps! Room fine, nice modern bathroom with roomy shower, big comfy bed. Outside space very limited, pool not large but adequate. No sun after lunch. Not much privacy. Wifi useless (we reported this and the next morning before breakfast it was fine. After breakfast and the rest of our stay, useless, very frustrating.
Food:
Breakfast buffet, good. A la carte dining a nice experience. You sit in little cabanas. Superb service. Buffet dining alternative good. You are served your mains and help yourself to starters and sweet. Not cheap, but nice.
If you book an ordinary room I think you would be delighted, it's just the pool villas that disappointed us.

Unfortunately too short a stay.
Excellent staff/ service. From Eleni and Mora on check in to Apostolos on checkout.
Great food as well as ambience.

Nice comfortable boutique hotel with very friendly staff who are only too eager to help.
We stayed in a room overlooking the pool/bar and were at first apprehensive given its location and the potential disturbance from the evening entertainment.
However the rooms were reasonably quiet and the entertainment pretty low key.
The food was good with a reasonable choice but don't expect the same variety as that provided by other larger 5* hotels that have 100's of rooms as this is a boutique hotel.
The only drawback for us was the wifi which, whilst we could connect, was so slow 3G on the phone was considerably faster.
In conclusion would recommend to anyone if looking to stay in this area of Crete.

Great hotel. Amazing staff, friendly always available to help. The restaurant had delicious food. The hotel was clean. So close to the beach

The welcome and the friendliness of hotel staff was second to none from day 1 to departure. Hotel was very modern and well appointed too. Dinner was not great but restaurant setting was very nice. Had an excellent massage in spa too. Village location was quiet but not particularly attractive.
