We have had a lovely overnight stay in anerdeen. I wasnt haply woth the room as it was the old part of the hotel windows didnt open amd i spoke to the receptionist was helpful and lovely and move us to an another room. The hotel room is very nice spaceish The room was still very hot but its the summer time,
We also had high tea also and was fanastoc and valve for money too, stsff were helpful and lovely definitely would be back again.

Friendly staff and really good location

Traditional hotel opposite the railway station. Very large room with a bath as well as shower. Good value. Pleasant staff and a good bar and restaurant. Very quiet the night we stayed.
Easy walk to all the city attractions.
The car park is small and tight but they have just started offering reserved parking for a small fee.
Would certainly stay again. The only snag was a very warm room with no obvious way of turning off the heating

Stay was good but bathroom radiator was on all the time and was therefore uncomfortable.

Really good nights sleep, although the room had a little slope in the floor that at times made it a little bit like being on a ship.
Other than that a really good stay.

Nice hotel very central

On arrival we were allocated a room to the rear of the premises. The room was absolutely disgusting, we refused it and a second room, finally we were given room 316 which was of the standard we expected. The lady working at reception saved the day because we were going to cancel the booking and we were willing to accept the lose of our money, that’s how bad the first two rooms were. In the evening we used the hotel restaurant. I asked to see the wine list but was told they didn’t have one. I said that was strange but then the waitress said if I explained to her what sort of wine we liked she could fined one. When our meal arrived we asked for mayonnaise. The waitress brought the plastic Heinz mayonnaise bottle to the table and left it with us. The food was okay but the meal was a very different experience to what we normally expect. We had a prebooked and paid meal offer, our room number was taken at the start, I thought our drinks would be charged to the room, when we were in our room we received a call to return to the restaurant to pay for our drinks, I returned and the lady tried to charge me £27 for two Amstel beers and 1 gin and tonic, they tried to charge 12.5% service charge for the meal and drinks, after discussion it was removed. The bar in the hotel closes at 10.30 on a Friday night even for residents. In general terms the hotel is in a great location and it does have some good points eg the receptionist who sorted our room allocation and the room we finally got.

Lovely, clean family room. It was a bit outdated. Slept brilliantly and had a lovely breakfast. Great price and located centrally.

The room was very spacious and comfortable but the carpet was pretty stained, value for money.

Was with my 2 grandsons, the room itself was big, the only complaint is there wasnt a mirror in the room itself just the bathroom, i had to use the camera on my phone for drying my hair so i could see whst i was doing

Hotel lovely building , convenient for union sq , room large with window seat for people watching , though as on main rd noisy , good breakfast buffet ,didn't find staff very friendly , parking is awful , if youre unable to park in the ridiculous small car park at rear of hotel then you have to pay parking fee of carpark further down the road , which when walking back in pouring rain isn't fun , when asked where to park car was just told " we'll have to pay for car park over bridge yourself !! "

Our room has no window, it was very small
and dark not enough lighting. The floor makes a lot of noises when you walk. We enjoyed the Buffet breakfast hash browns were delicious.

Fantastic location for travel.
Good size room, clean and met all needs.
Unfortunately had 2am fire alarm (false alarm) which the hotel couldn’t help but back metal fire escape was very dark and quite scary and no one meeting or guiding you once you were out.

The twin standard room was quite spacious with a large recently refurbished batroom with s powerful shoer over the bath. However the rest of the accommodation was very shabby and in need of complete refurbishment. The walls had marks and holes where new sockets had been fitted. The carpet was stained and was well beyond its sell by date! The wardrobe was outdated and the curtains were basic. Extras included tea and coffee, biscuits, kettle, iron and ironing board. The dining room was attractive with a wide selection of high quality breakfast dishes. I would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay again. The reviews I read and the pictures I viewed before booking certainly give a false impression.

When I come up to visit family I always stay at the station hotel. Stay was lovely, restaurant staff were very blunt and abrupt, not really friendly or hospitable. Housekeeping staff were brill put our do not disturb sign on the handle and they left fresh towels and loo roll in a bag for us, bar staff were friendly. Ashame restaurant staff ruined it

Nice comfortable stay but Wi-Fi was not available in the room 333 I was allocated.Dissapointing.

Great service from reception (Cameron), she’s a definite asset. Thank you.

Hotel was a great location, reception and bar were nice areas. However rest of hotel and rooms need a refurb. We stayed on the 4th floor, so she to room could be better. Very dated stairs and wallpaper peeling in places. Could not open window in room, very stuffy and had to wedge door open for ventilation. Plug sockets by dressing table not working. That said it was fine for a base for a cheap weekend break. Ideal if you’re travelling by train.

Very happy staying here! Close to everything. Right opposite Union Square shopping centre and the bus station and train station!
4.0
Great location across from the train station. When that’s said, it’s all said. An old property that needs a serious renovation.
Ovation and price are probably the two things that keep it going.

Nice enough hotel and well situuated for a city break in Aberdeen. My only criticism is the windows. Its 2024 and the windows in my room were singled glazed . Aberdeen is quite a cold and noisy city centre so double is a basic requirement I would say.

Beautiful hotel, rooms can do with an update but for the price we paid it served the purpose. Would certainly go back

Well booked in for two nights and ended up staying in three rooms. First room bathroom lock couldn't be opened from inside and wife got locked in luckily I hadn't gone anywhere and was able to open it from the outside. So hotel moved to their credit. Down to a second floor room but unfortunately the lift then went out of action and being disabled found it difficult using the stair's. They got it fixed so no problem. Got up next day to find lift out of order again and had to use the stairs again. The hotel to their credit moved us again to a ground floor room. All I got was a load of apologies and ended up still paying full price for my stay . No consideration from the hotel for all the inconvenience caused by them

I managed to get a refurbed room last time and it was so lovely, however this time, I was in the older part of the hotel. It was very noisy from cars outside and the room needed refurbed. Breakfast was amazing! And the ladies on reception - couldn’t fault.
2.0
Breakfast was good and plentiful. However by 0930 all the food and plates were gone and cleared away. So much for a holiday lay in and leisurely breakfast to start the day of? Go to other hotels and breakfast they start clearing away slowly not everything gone by 0935 not even a chance of toast or even a cup of tea. However the hotel id ideal right next to Rail and bus Stations.
2.0
There was alot of noise in the room i think it was possibly the heating and i had a difficulty understanding the night staff at reception other wise very good
8.0
Nice hotel. Lovely staff. Good breakfast. Great location for central Aberdeen easy to get to by car, and then easy to get round by foot (next to city centre), train, bus (right by station) or car (free car park)
Only issue was a lack of plug sockets in the room. There were only two in the room. If you’re watching tv and boiling a kettle then you can’t charge your phone or devices. Which was annoying with two of us in the room.
Also hard to boil a kettle as the plug height doesn’t allow the kettle to sit anywhere safe whilst boiling. There are no shelves or surfaces other than the floor near the plugs. And the kettle lead is to short to let it be satin the floor when plugged in.
