Very lovely house on the Isle of Skye, very charming country side spirit with sheep on the way. Super calm. Lovely room with a proper living area.
4.1
The people truly make this place special! Friendly and accommodating.
4.1
Clean comfortable accommodation and friendly, helpful staff. Beds (mattresses) felt a little soft.
4.1
The room felt more like a townhouse, it was roomy and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful with a lake and land with sheep. It was a wonderful getaway from the city!
There is also a restaurant that had really good food for dinner! The breakfast was great as well! We really enjoyed our stay and will come back if we visit the area again!
4.1
Loved the staff! We were exhausted when we arrived. Felt like we were coming home! Food is amazing!no need to dine out!
4.1
It was a lovely property and the staff was so friendly and nice. The food was good. The road to get there was 2 miles and a single lane for both ways, but that is not uncommon in Isle of Skye. Would recommend!
4.1
Room clean and huge. Amazing view and quiet Place. The staff Is kind and nice. The street tò arrive at the hotel Is narrow and not in perfect condition. So be careful!

We had a fantastic stay at Redwood House. A special thanks to the staff John and Anette who made our stay great and memorable. Highly recommend to a stay here !!

The managers John and Annette were phenomenal

We stayed for two nights and this hotel was the highlight of our trip. John was funny and a real treat to be around, we highly recommended!

Beautiful location and views. Friendly, courteous, efficient staff. Delicious dinners. We had a delightful, relaxing stay.
4.1
Location was quiet and had lovely view.
Staff were friendly.
Breakfast underwhelming, with limited options and not really fresh.
Room was not dark enough even with curtains so it is useful to think of the eye covers for sensitive sleepers.
Try to avoid the lower floor rooms it gets terribly noisy as soon as other guests start to move around.

Great remote place to stay

Such an adorable little hotel on the lake. I stayed a short time and wish I had longer. I got in very late but had called and John was super helpful and friendly and made sure I had what I needed when I got in and reminded me to get food first bc nothing around there after their restaurant closes. Very helpful and kind of him bc I forget things close early and I forget to eat. Breakfast was good. John was super nice and gave me ideas where to go and even shared a picture he took of the sunset with me bc I missed it. And I loved the drive in with all the sheep neighbors to the hotel. I'm an animal but and that made me happy just driving in and being able to count my sheep before I got there and went to bed! 😜

Unfortunately it was a terrible stay. Room had a inner car park view and neither bathroom nor the room was clean. Room is called a double room but in reality it is quite small room. Mattress was not comfortable and big enough. When we complain about the clogged sink and dirty bathroom, lady at the reception was weird about it.
In general given the price point it is an overpriced 2 out of 5 hotel. Would not recommend to anyone.

Redwood House and their staff are amazing! John goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. The accommodations are incredible and the views are spectacular on the loch. I promise that you will love this place as much as we did! And make sure to ask for Kara’s big a** salad! You won’t regret it!

We had a wonderful two night stay. Wonderful food, perfect room, sheep everywhere, very quaint with views over the water.

Wonderful check-in lady - other staff were less friendly.
Felt like guests were a bit in the way…
Big room with great bed and bathroom
Beautiful view in dining area
Breakfast ok
Expensive for what they had to offer

It was quiet and everybody was super friendly.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful, quiet location with stunning views of the loch from the lounge and dining room.
The staff were friendly and helpful but service at evening dinner was very slow at times.
The hotel is small and was built about 10 years ago. It appears to have been originally well specified at the time but, being hyper- critical, 10 years' use is starting to show up now in places. Nevertheless we would be happy to stay again, especially if the perfect weather could be repeated!

Beautiful location thou down a ten min dirt track to reach it. 30 mins drive to Portree. However our room faced the car park on the ground floor so we couldnt open our curtains thru the stay. And there are a number of rooms like this - very few face the Loch. For the money and on a three night stay this was unacceptable - the reception staff handled it really badly and were very surly. They could have changed us on day two but said as we hadn't booked direct they werent going to!!! If you dont book direct you are very much a second class citizen. A number of guests unhappy with some aspect, feeling the website doesn't portray the situation accurately. Restaurant staff very nice but not fully trained on menu specifics. Breakfast is basic self service continental, dinner was decent on nights chef in - pizzas otherwise and they are poor.

Briony, her daughter & Ludmilla the front of the house ladies were fantastic. Great service, friendly & always helpful with any question or need. Briony makes the very best Gin and Tonics I have ever had. Dining room had fantastic food too. A little out of the way, but worth it !!

It is very isolated but we wanted that. Super nice owner. Family run small place. 2 miles down a single track road full of sheep. Gorgeous location.
4.1
Redwood House and restaurant were both lovely. The room was well-appointed, quiet and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was delightful, and the breakfast choices were better than we dreamed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I recommend Redwood House heartily!

Lovely newer buildings overlooking the loch. Sheep bounding along the nearby road. Wonderful staff. Good restaurant.
4.1
Lovely location - we had a room with a view of the Loch. Staff friendly and helpful.

Great breakfasts, large rooms, great, quiet place to greet sway. Road in has a few pot holes.

This place is magical. We came across it by just our luck and boy were we happy. The hosts that welcomed us were so sweet and so welcoming and the food was outstanding! My husband had the Cullen skink chowder and the seafood linguini and it was incredible! Highly recommend this quaint spot. Take care on the road! It’s not for the faint of heart but worth it!

While the staff was extremely friendly, this place needs a manager. When the chef cooked, food was exceptional. However, even being warned that the breakfast was continental and only pizza was available on Tuesday nights, the pizzas were not good and the continental breakfast was difficult for me as I cannot have dairy. The room was beautiful and the view was bucolic. However, with a few tweaks, this place could be exceptional.

Everything was great, the host and help were all very nice. It was clean, bed was comfortable, the food was good.

It is a well situated hotel overlooking the water. It was quiet and tranquil. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was upgraded with a lovely view of the water. The room was comfortable and clean with a nice sitting area. We had a delicious meal in the dining room with great service on a quiet night at the end of the season.

we were very pleased with the space. very remote and picturesque views. we were treated very warmly by the staff

We booked through Wotif app. The photos were misleading in almost all of them. Needs renovating peeling pain and dirty carpet. However clean beds and room. Staff didn’t seem happy. Told us to complain to our travel avant- once we get home🙄 felt stuck they’d already taken their payment and there was no other places available

The property is located in a very peaceful area. The staff is friendly. The views are beautiful and very serene. The wifi was spotty . The only issue we had was the water heaters did not provide much hot water. I would stay there again.
4.1
The property was very nice, however the stay was made excellent by Bryony the hostess.

First, our room was very cozy and clean. We had good airflow from various windows which was super important during a very warm streak for Fall in Scotland. With that said, keeping windows open allowed in every single noise from any guest, even as late as 1am.
Breakfast was lovely. While we do understand limited dining with how hard it is to find help these days, having a small fridge and/or microwave in the rooms would have been helpful for us to have our own food with limited dining in general!

We love the Redwood House and had a great experience there. It’s Located on a loch with beautiful views rain or shine. Room was great. And staff were wonderful, especially Brione and Chris. Thanks for taking such good care of us.
