This was the perfect place to gather, share memories, and bond as a family! They have thought of everything! Communication and everything was just perfect! Thank you for sharing with our family!

Best vacation ever! This lodge was awesome! The kitchen was equipped with everything needed to cook gourmet dinners and had plenty of counter space to hold the enormous amount of snacks that we packed for the grandkids. The beds were comfortable, especially in the master bedroom that my wife and I claimed when we arrived. The master bathroom and shower were great. It had the shampoo, conditioner and body wash just like high end hotels. There were 2 fire pits, one on the deck and one in the yard. Both were well used, especially the one in the yard. It was great for making s'mores and just huddling around telling stories and making memories. My favorite part was having coffee on the front deck with my wife in the early morning admiring the view and peacefulness of being there. The views from everywhere on the property were great. The hot tub was also a big hit especially after a long hike to Cascade Falls from Grand Lake. There was plenty of room on the deck for having grilled burgers, brats and hotdogs. There was ample seating inside and out for our family of 11. Our host Megan was always quick to respond to questions we had about different things about the property. She helped make our stay one that we will always remember. Our grandkids had so much fun exploring the property, they even saw a couple of deer which was very exciting for them to see. We had a truly memorable stay at the cabin/lodge and hopefully we will be able to return and make more memories...

We stayed in this beautiful house for a family gathering in Colorado. The house was spacious and clean and was a great gathering place for our family. We greatly enjoyed hanging out on the covered Porsche around the propane fire pit every night after our daily adventures. The hope tub was also great to relax in while looking at the amazing views of the local lakes. Would definately recommend this place!

Beautifully decorated and appointed, this spacious and immaculate home is a vacation dream. Every consideration has been taken from gourmet cooking utensils in the kitchen to white noise machines in the bedrooms. Plenty of room inside and out to gather, yet also nice areas like a hammock for quiet time. Deck on 3 sides with views of the mountains and lake. Very responsive host Megan replaced the appliance that broke down. Wildlife in the area too!

This was our second stay in 3 years at this home in Grand Lake. This home continues to be fantastic. The hosts are wonderful communicators and answer all questions very quickly. The home was clean and comes exactly as promised. The pictures are true to real life. If you are looking to experience Grand Lake and mountain life you cannot go wrong with this property.

This house is beautiful, the property is stunning & the property owners were wonderful from start to finish. Fit our family of 6 adults & 5 kids perfectly. The house is equipped with everything you could need, this is honestly the first house (out of many that we rent every year) that provided all the basic essentials needed. We saw Moose & Deer right on the property, multiple times. The deck & views were the best part (not to mention the new hot tub!) We would 1000% rent this house again if back in the area again! Thank you for everything, Megan & family!

I'm not one to typically write reviews but my stay at this cabin was amazing. The flow of the floorpan is great for groups due to the three levels. Everyone had their own space the common area is great for gathering. The sofa in the living room is large and comfortable. The dining room table was big enough to seat my entire group. All of the furniture is new and modern. All of the beds were comfortable in every room. Plenty of blankets and comforters to keep you warm and cozy throughout your stay. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you might need to cook meals. Pots, pans, crockpot etc all of the new appliances are new and modern. The kitchen is big enough that multiple people can help prepare meals. The wrap around deck has amazing views. Plenty of seating for the group and a gas fire pit. The jacuzzi is also new and modern. It has a touch screen to operate all the functions really user friendly. The hosts were SUPER responsive with any questions or concerns I had. I had a response almost instantly when I did have a question. Due to Winter Storm Heather my group did get stuck for a couple extra days because we didn't want to chance driving on the roads. Megan was super helpful in confirming right away that there was availability at her cabin for the extra days so we didn't have to worry about accommodations with the storm being in the area. I have to say she is the best host I have ever dealt with when renting through VRBO. I would 1000% rent from these hosts again.

My children and I stayed here for 4 days. It was perfect. We puzzled, sled the driveway, hot tubbed and watched movies. I cooked every meal at the house and found that they had every pot and pan that I needed! This was a perfect, peaceful winter getaway for us. We hope to make it back in the summer!

Beautiful spacious retreat in the mountains. Amazing views. Plenty of nearby recreational activities. We went to the Fraser sledding hill, sulfur hot springs, and Rabbit Ears pass for snowmobiling. Great in the winter and would love to see the opportunities there in the summer.

We booked this beautiful home for our family Christmas trip and had the best time! We enjoyed our stay and all of the amazing things the home has to offer. If you book during the winter/ high snow season, I would highly recommend 4WD, AWD or snow chains. We were fortunate a surrounding neighbor plowed the road that leads to the house for us unprepared Texans lol the home itself was everything you see in the pictures and was very clean and comfy. Lots of memories made during our stay! Megan was super helpful at answering my questions prior to booking and throughout our reservation. I would highly recommend booking this property for your next mountain get away.

This is a wonderful house to settle into with family or friends. It is close to outdoor destinations and has plenty of space to spread out if you just want to relax indoors. The kitchen is very well equipped compared to most mountain cabins. The coffee drinkers among us appreciated the high capacity coffee maker and large mugs. We also liked that the beds had multiple layers of blankets rather than a single large comforter.

Our family stayed for a long holiday weekend and had a great time. The home is beautifully remodeled and well appointed. Every room was nice and well done. The master suite and bathroom was especially nice and luxurious. The basement room was a great place for kids to sleep and hangout. Views from the house of both Lake Granby and Shadown Mountain lake are terrific. From the house we saw elk two different times. Note that the driveway is steep and one of our four wheel drive vehicles got stuck in wet, icy snow. So bring well equipped vehicles in the winter.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The home was clean, very well organized, with plenty of amenities and creature comforts. The home is minutes from Grand Lake. I referred this property to several friends and family that are looking for luxury in a nice quiet neighborhood. The hot tub and fire pit areas were very nice.

We had a wonderful weekend at this home. We come to Grand Lake every year and wanted to stay off the Main Street this time but close to town. This home was perfect. The views are amazing in a quiet neighborhood with nature surrounding. Megan was quick to respond with any questions.

We met several family members here. The views from this property are spectacular. The home is beautifully decorated and has every amenity you would want in a home away. It is close to shopping in Grand Lake and secluded enough that we never saw anyone else. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we return to CO.

All of the other reviews are spot on. This place is beautiful inside and out. It's less than a 10 minute drive into town. There is plenty to do at the house, games, hot tub, gas firepit on the patio that overlooks the lake, and outside fire pit. Wildlife all over, quite and felt secluded. Trails around the area too. The kitchen had everything we needed. Enough beds to comfortably sleep 9 adults. We all go on an annual trip each year and this one has by far been our favorite. We plan to stay here again.

My family and I recently had the most wonderful vacation at Modern Mountain Retreat! From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a treat. The entire experience was nothing short of amazing, and we can't wait to share our delightful journey with you.
First and foremost, the house itself was an absolute gem. Spacious, well-appointed, and beautifully decorated, it provided the perfect backdrop for our family retreat. The attention to detail in every room was evident, and we felt comfortable and at home throughout our stay. Whether we were lounging in the cozy living room, preparing meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, or enjoying a peaceful night's sleep in the luxurious bedrooms, every moment was pure joy.The highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional responsiveness of our host. From the initial booking inquiry to the moment we checked out, their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was truly remarkable. Any questions or requests we had were met with prompt and friendly responses, making us feel valued and well taken care of. It's rare to encounter a host who goes above and beyond in such a genuine and gracious manner. Our days were filled with fun and memorable activities. The location of Modern Mountain Retreat! couldn't have been better – close to attractions, yet secluded enough to offer a peaceful escape. We explored the local area, indulged in delicious dining options, and created unforgettable memories that will be cherished for
yto come.

This secluded getaway home was a very spacious family friendly home for our family of 7 to stay in. The outdoor area, included a hot tub, fire pit, and deck were wonderful! The views were phenomenal! The interior of the home was rustic modern, up to date and homey. Megan and her family were a pleasure to deal with. 5 star rating, highly recommended!

I almost hate to say what a beautiful view and property it is because everyone will want to rent it…..We brought our family and we all marveled at the house, the land, the view and the comfort at the house. Megan and Dave were so kind and very accommodating. We will definitely return to stay here again. Thank you so much for helping us make this memory with our family.

My family from LA and Monterey CA all flew to meet at this wonderful home in the mountains.
We kayak, rented boats, played Horseshoes, cooked amazing meals, sat on the beautiful deck and reminisced.
The home was very well appointed and I would highly recommend!

We had the best stay at this wonderful mountain house. Beautiful views both ways, modern rustic decor, well stocked, clean - perfect for a large group getaway. Super close to downtown/activities but was quiet and peaceful at the cabin. Great communication from the owner. I highly recommend.

My family loved staying here. This house is all that it is advertised. It is located in a beautiful setting with great proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and Arapaho National Forest. The accommodations couldn’t be better. It has wonderful amenities to enjoy like the hot tub, the fire pit, and the gas fireplaces. You can see both Shadow Mountain Lake and Lake Granby from the house. We saw moose and deer at the back of the house. Megan, the owner of the house was great about providing us with information concerning our stay with prompt responses. This is a lovely and well taken care of cabin. We’d stay here again and hope to do so in the future.

Location was perfect in terms of proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapaho National Forest.
While not why we originally picked this place, the accommodations that made traveling with kids easier was a highlight (provided pack and play, bunk beds, high chair, and kids sized horse shoes so they could play along with the adults).

This cabin was so perfect for our first big family vacation! They had everything we needed and more! We had fun inside and outside by the fire pit! The views were amazing and the house was so comfortable! A must do if you are in the Grand Lake area!

Seriously this was the best vacation rental we have had. The indoor and outdoor spaces are both fantastic. Very kid friendly and stocked with everything we possibly could have needed. Great location and easy drive from Denver. Will stay again for sure! If I could leave a 6 star review, I would.

Our second year at this amazing property. Fantastic hosts, wonderful layout, spectacular views, family hideaway that’s close to many winter activities. Skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, and just hanging out. Loved our time here and really felt like home. Highly recommend!

We spent a week just before Christmas at the cabin. It was just as advertised and is in a remote beautiful location! Communication with Megan was seamless and they had even decorated the house with a Christmas tree prior to our arrival, which everyone loved! The house is clean and was perfect for a large family. We would love to come stay again!

Absolutely breathtaking views, with all the amenities you need. It got very snowy when we stayed and never had to worry about the driveway being cleared as it was taken care of regularly. I will definitely book here again!

My family and I had a great stay in Megan’s cabin for Christmas! She was very accommodating and was even able to get a Christmas tree in the property on short notice which we really appreciated. The cabin was clean and well-decorated and had plenty of space for our group of 7, including a toddler. Our pups had a wonderful time as well and we loved that we were able to bring them along. We would definitely stay here again!

Our extended family had an absolutely fantastic time during our stay. The house had large common areas to hang out and enough rooms / comfortable beds to give everyone their own space. All the furnishings / decor felt taseful and new / clean. The kitchen was perfect; big, well stocked, and not isolated from the common areas. But what really set the house itself apart were the incredible views of the surrounding lakes / mountains that you could take in from the large windows.
As for the location, again, it seemed to hit the sweet spot. Felt very peaceful and quiet without being worryingly remote. Got to see some large wildlife walking right through the property. Easy trip down to town if you need to resupply. And it was only 15 minutes to hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Hosts were responsive and obviously committed to making sure we had a great stay.
