Very disappointing However you get what you pay for and Georgetown is truly a wonderful destination

Not much to be honest! The location was quite good and chosen to be close to other friends at another hotel down the street. The Indian guys on concierge were super helpful and very friendly and the roof top bar was quite lovely but separately run from the hotel itself

Very tired old hotel. Rooms in serious need of refreshing up. Went to check in at around 3.30pm (check in stated as 3pm). Room not ready told check in is 3pm "onwards" given the excuse that they have had back to back group bookings check out which is not my problem. Wasn’t offered any complimentary drinks or anything to compensate. Stowed my luggage in my travel companions room whose room was available. They then called at around 4.15pm told me that my room was ready but there were no towels in the room and that they wouldn’t be available until early evening. Sorry but if there are no towels in the room then the rooms not ready. Finally got into my room around 7pm (had to phone down for towels) after our touring group had drinks at the hotel across the road. I lay on the bed and it’s like concrete. Poor service and dismissive attitude from the check in desk person. Won’t be recommending this hotel.

A nightmare

The position is ok

We stayed here 3 nights and it was a nightmare. Be aware that even though you book a deluxe room it’s not an actual 3-bed room. It’s a 2 beds room and they add one on the floor. To start with - the room and the bathroom particularly were disgustingly dirty (photo attached of the mold / dust in the bathroom - honestly unacceptable). The sheets were dirty and the room was smelling bad. The service was terrible - one day the room was cleaned at 5.30 pm and they didn’t even make all the beds and we waited for 2 hours without not even one towel to shower even though we called several times (they kept saying that they were short on towels). Also be aware that they charge every little request you may have (either an extra key or a phone call to a Malaysian number). We have traveled a lot and honestly it was one of the dirtiest place we have ever stayed in. Stay away.

housekeep team should teamup maintenance team to keep it well.

Pillow not comfortable to sleep. Condition of the room. Some plug not working. Bathtub not in good condition. After check out, I only realise receipt wrongly type.

Very old condition hotel, some areas of the room are dirty and rusted.

Location is strategic, walking distance to many eateries and heritage area.

Room condition was rather bad and rundown, ac is making noise the whole night, housekeeping was not consistent.

Hotel stay was disappointing but I'm glad that my stay was for just 1 night

Location was good

Room carpet old & tatty and beginning to smell. Bathroom - bidet spray missing, Towels did not smell fresh, Although I am a Malaysian and produced my I/C on check in, I was charged 'Tourist Tax' of RM10.

Nice hotel, good location

We had large rooms and we liked it (maybe one of biggest rooms we had ever). Pool area with jacuzzi was also nice, towel service staff was helpful. Rooms has safe box and iron with ironing board, kettle, daily supply of water, coffee and tea. Location we great for us (need to mention Red Garden Food Paradise nearby - it was nice to taste various world kitchen).

This was our "emergency" hotel, as other hotel we booked in advance was terrible. We had good time in "Bayview Melaka" week ago, so we went to "Bayview Penang" with same expectations. Reception said they cannot offer rooms for us, so we need to buy rooms online, and price was higher, than in Booking. We need to wait more than hour in lobby for confirmation, then we gave up, left luggage and went for dinner. I cannot comment overpriced breakfast as we choose rooms only.

Wonderful stay, most of Georgetown highlights are within walking distance, scooter

great location, spacious rooms, wonderful staff, roof top bar - even if only for the view

Lovely pool, but closes at 7pm. would be nice to swim after walking back from town. Roof top bar is only dinner, so no early morning sunrise photos or daytime pics.

Hidden gem

More than expected, really clean and large room. Nice pool area and gym room.

The check in is like checking to a crowded airline :D I don't understand why is it so slow.
