Location: Hotel is conveniently located in Penang and very near good cafés so you're always within reach for your caffeine fix.
Room: Room is spacious and the bed is comfortable
Design: Lighting in the room is a bit dark but overall, the hotel is well designed.
Staff Availability: There were no staff around when we tried to check in at 2pm so we had to go for lunch with our luggages
TV: TV offers local channel and will be better if it has access to YouTube or allow us to cast from our phones.

Stayed in Exclusive duplex (loft) Suite for 3 nights.
Bathroom is good.
Comfy bed.
Cotton bath towels.
The Exclusive Duplex Suite upon check on 1st night was a hugh disappointment. The sofa bed that was meant for my daughter (booked for family of 3) was damaged. The cushion has completely worn out with only hard wooden sofa frame to sleep on which was not acceptable. I took the staff to inspect the sofa bed and requested a mattress. A thin foldable mattress was later provided. The same room also has a defect. The beam on the ceiling directly above the staircase (which was more like a ladder due to steepness) is badly cracked and look sinisterly dangerous like its about to fall off anytime. Next day I requested to change room and thankfully was able to.
The location is quite far from the main hub of Georgetown. Too hot to walk around.
Lighting in room too dim giving a gloomy feel since there is no window in room.
Aircon capacity not sufficient to make room cool.
Dust visible despite dim lighting in room.
Generally furniture in the room has seen better days, except for bed which was comfy
(see pics)
I'm afraid the "Exclusive" description is grossly misleading.

It was all good

the room is very old and some amenities don’t work

The old colonial style was preserved very well. Staff is friendly and tried to help out with problems. The location is good and in walking distance a lot of shops, cafes and restaurants are located.
We stayed there before in the larger room. The smaller room had a bathroom in a very bad condition. It is clearly visible, that the rooms need some rennovation.
It was very noisy, since the room had thin walls.
We were very confused because of the long list of prices for lost or stolen furnishings in the room (also contained funny things like windows and doors).

The design of the hotel is really nice. Staff is friendly and the location is good.
Roomsize is also good an the bed comfortable.
It is clearly visible, that the rooms need some rennovation. The shower looks really old and used and there are a lot of spots on the walls. Since the building is quite old, the walls seem to be thin and it was very noisy.
Cleanliness could be improved.
We were very confused because of the long list of prices for lost or stolen accessoires in the room (also contained windows and doors). Why would someone steal the air con and than pay for it?

Very central location, good for access to restaurants and museums nearby. Staff were helpful. There were regular supplies of mineral water to the room, and the shower was warm.
The room was dark and too small. The air conditioning unit leaked water and couldn't be fixed, so it lead to several sleepless nights. The stairs inside the room were steep and dangerous for a small child.

Very good location close to many interesting sites in Georgetown. Hot shower and air con working fine.
The room was slightly smaller than expected and didn’t have a dedicated space for backpack/luggage. Sadly small ants were there too.

The location of the hotel was amazing, it was close to many cafes either way you go and walking distance to the touristic hotspots. The hotel has it charm but some things need improvement.
The level of the cleanliness was about zero, dirty bedlinen, towels, bathroom. This needs improving because the place is great otherwise.

Charming little place in downtown Georgetown with great walkability.
The property had an island wide water shut off that they did not inform guests of even though there was local knowledge weeks ahead of time. This unfortunately resulted in water turning off mid shower and a bucket of icy water having to be delivered to our room so that I could get the soap
out of my hair, all of which took more than an hour. Hospitality was significantly lacking and so many things were broken, including the bathroom faucet having rotted out of the vanity. management responded by duct taping the facet to the counter.

Location was fairly useful. Nice detail in the peranakan heritage. Stored our bags when we checked out early.
I indicated the need for twinshare. The property stated that twinshare was subject to availability. Had they just said no, I would have booked elsewhere. As a result I had to share a bed with my family member in the smallest room imaginable. Also would have enjoyed some tea for the room.

great location close to most things you want to,get to and also all of the local food and bars. great little bar/cafe just around the corner.
Bathroom was dirty, shower had mould and scale up the tiles. Shower didn’t work well, held together with wire. House keeping was hit and miss, some days they didn’t bother. They also don’t bother refilling coffee and tea. You get one set per stay, other than that you have to provided yourself or just get out and enjoy the city. we paid less at other cities and got more. this place plays out thinking it’s 4-5 star, more 3. Also, for a place that has a wine bar and supposedly a famous place to go… Who puts red wine in the fridge?

The overall look and feel was lovely. The bed was comfy and the room was large. Checking in was seamless. Clean rooms as well.
The noise. Room was on ground floor, could literally hear the housekeeping team banging stuff and the room being beside the storage didn't make it any better.

The ancient architecture of this hotel with old values of Penang. Very attractive. It is very close to Unesco World Heritage Road art, Chew Jetty and Lee Jetty. Another focus, it has enticing own Wine house ‘Ferment’
