Lovely pool area and a good place for stopping in Paquera for one night.
The room layout was a bit of a motel like vibe which was sort of strange. And the kitchen wasn’t very functional.
4.5
The tour was amazing and magical. The guides were very knowledgeable and great.
The room was BOILING. We regret not getting the room with A/C. Also, on the last day, there was no water. Also, very uncomfortable pillows and no screen on the window so we could not open the window for some cool air. I also got a rash from the pool unfortunately.

The room was spacious, had a en-suite bathroom, AC and the bed was big and great. Most importantly, the bioluminescent tour organised from out of the hostel was wonderful! It was amazing to kayak the ocean at night and experience the glowing water. Coco was a very nice and friendly guide and even back at the hostel he wasn’t shy of offering me a beer or two.
I’d say the hostel is a great starting point for doing a tour and it offers you the basics of what you need. The power outlet near my bed didn’t work though but that’s a minor thing.

Great personal, very clean room with air conditioning and comfortable beds.
They offer some tours as well.
Can definitely recommend this place.

With Cabinas Yilmer I had the best experiences of my trip to Costa Rica.
If you really want to get into the soul of this land, made of nature, jungles and beaches, with reliable local people, don't miss the experience with Cabinas Yilmer !
Coco, Beatriz and Orlando are the best: I stayed three days with them, they really welcomed me as one of the family, helped me when I had various difficulties, without hesitation.
Don't be impressed by the distances to the beaches, the staff will rent you bicycles and other means to make fabulous independent excursions !
For guided sea excursions, rely on Coco, he is not like other tourist catchers who only think about money, he is a person who does his job with serenity and above all who knows deeply the fabulous places where he will take you, sharing with you what he knows.
I left a piece of my heart in their hostel, if I go back to Costa Rica, it will be a fixed stop !
Pura Vida !

Owner was very nice and informative, organised our transport to a pre-booked bioluminescence tour and gave us good info about the bus onward to Cobano/Santa Teresa. On the way to our tour, her husband mentioned their own tour which sounded really good as well (going to a couple of islands and then bioluminescence). The bed was comfy.
The place was more run down than expected. The door to the toilet in our room didn't stay closed, but this was more or less ok in the end since nobody else was going to share the room with us. Half of the aircon didn't work, but the room was eventually at a comfortable temperature. It was ok for a night or two but I wouldn't recommend more unless you don't mind these things.

The room was extremely clean, and the bed was very comfortable, the AC saved us from the heat!
The stairs look like they are about to fall apart due to the rust. The kitchen was very dirty, and the room smelt like mold. I also wouldn't recommend it to people travelling without a car as it's far away from everything and taxi prices are insane (12$ for 10 min drive)

Very nice clean room with great air conditioning. Awesome kitchen and living area. And the staff were lovely and very helpful despite my lack of Spanish! Good location, just on the edge of town centre. Felt very secure there with a locked door into the dorm rooms. There's a nice bakery next door too!
The dogs were a little noisy during the day, but they generally quieten down at night.

great open air balcony
the room was hot when we arrived but we turned on the a/c and it cooled down quickly

good price and the owners are just lovely. they helped me with everything, even though they didn’t speak English and I don’t speak Spanish. They gifted me some mango and even walked me to the bus stop when I left. Also the room has a very powerful AC which is not the norm in cheap stays on the peninsula.
nothing :)
