Escape to Lake View Chalet, a spacious A-frame home nestled in peaceful Sudden Valley, Bellingham. This stunning retreat offers breathtaking views of Lake Whatcom and is ideal for large family vacations, reunions, or an escape with friends to explore all the PNW has to offer. With over 3,000 sqft of living space, this charming chalet features 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms boasting plenty of room for everyone!

The Space:
Whether you spend your days lounging by the lake or exploring nearby attractions, Bellingham Lake View Chalet is the ultimate destination for an unforgettable vacation - family-friendly, pet-friendly, and breathtaking lake views! Across the street you'll find Sofield Park, offering a large grassy lawn and a sandy beach perfect for relaxing and swimming - kayaks and paddle boards are provided! Walking distance from the Marina, dog park, and a 18-hole championship golf course open to the public. Minutes from world-class mountain biking and hiking trails. There's no shortage of fun & activities here!

Parking for up to 4 vehicles with FREE EV CHARGING! The three-level fully furnished home is designed for comfort and convenience. The main floor is bright and airy with an open-concept living and dining room, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, and 3 sets of floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open up to a private 700 sqft wraparound deck offering stunning lake views, outdoor dining and a gas BBQ. There are two bedrooms on the main floor both with Queen-Size beds and private en-suite bathrooms.

The primary bedroom on the lower level features a King bed, a private en-suite, and a desk set up as a dedicated workspace. The lower level family rec room is equipped with a flat-screen TV with all the streaming services, stereo, pool table, wet bar, and a 300 sqft deck through double sliding glass doors, along with an exterior entrance leading to a kids play gym.

The upper level of the home provides sleeping arrangements for up to 8 guests. The open loft area has a bunk bed, with a twin bed on top and double bed on bottom, and full bathroom that will always be available to guests. There is a 5th Bedroom that includes a double bed + three single beds.

Enjoy the convenient location, with Downtown Bellingham just 20 minutes away, the US/Canada border 35 minutes away, Seattle and Vancouver BC Canada 1.5 hours away, and 1.5 hours to Mt. Baker.

Sudden Valley is one of Lake Whatcom’s most exclusive lakefront family neighborhoods, and guests of the Lake View Chalet are just minutes away from everything this beautiful community has to offer. A world-class 18 hole championship golf course, open to the public, with a full service clubhouse and restaurant is minutes away. Also enjoy a dry and wet Marina with launch ramps that guests may access through our community association as well as an Olympic-size swimming pool, playgrounds, BBQ gazebos, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, dog park, and multiple green spaces.

A short drive takes you to local grocery markets, restaurants, cafes, banks, gas stations, and a variety of retail services, including a pet store and pet grooming salon.

The house is great. Comfortable and well equipped From the photos I assumed the grassy area was our backyard. It’s in a neighborhood and surrounded by many homes. So not private. Marina is basically for residents. Nothing to rent for visitors to go on the lake. Emma was very responsive and accommodating.

The venue is perfect for our group's annual golf trip. In addition to the picturesque view, the Great room and the outside deck with a fire pit are great for socializing at the end of the day, and the local market and stores have everything we need to make our trip planning easy. The check-in / check-out process is simple, and the host was easy to communicate with. This was the sixth time we have stayed here and will come back again.

11 of us flew in for a family function. The house is cozy, with basement level master bedroom (quite big), cozy sectional, and pool table. This was the retreat for the early risers who didn't want to disturb those on the 3rd floor. Two rooms with bathrooms on the main floor, and were exactly as posted. On the top floor of this A frame home, there is a bedroom with a door, a bathroom, and a 5th room that is actually a loft with a full sizedbed and twin on top. Although this worked fine for us, if you wanted a 5th room with a bedroom door, know this is not that room. The owner was wonderful, helpful, and patient. On the main floor, the dining and living open space was great to gather and share stories. The balconies on the lower level and main floors were a good spill out area. The kitchen...has everything. Well stocked worth tools, pans, dishes, etc... this was greatly appreciated by our large family who were coming every meal. The family was so happy with this property. I would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our little family getaway for the holiday! Loved the location, the neighborhood and we were very comfortable here with plenty of room for us to choose to relax and read, play board games or watch tv. Would definitely come back.

Our stay at this beautiful cottage with my adult children and our family dog was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views of the serene lake that stretched out before us. The natural beauty of the surroundings instantly put us at ease. The host went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their attentiveness and warm hospitality were evident in every aspect of our stay. From providing helpful recommendations for local activities to ensuring the cottage was stocked with everything we needed, they truly exceeded our expectations. The cottage itself was a cozy haven. It was well-maintained, tastefully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we could have wished for. Whether we were lounging in the family room, preparing meals in the fully stocked kitchen, or simply enjoying the tranquil setting from the porch, every moment felt like a slice of paradise. Spending quality time with my adult children and our beloved family dog in such a perfect setting created lasting memories for all of us. We found ourselves reluctant to leave and are eagerly looking forward to the opportunity to return. This cottage truly offers a five-star experience that we highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was the perfect place for a family Christmas. Not only was there enough communal space for enjoying each other‘s company, everyone had their own space and bathroom to get away from each other from time to time! Would definitely highly recommend!

A group of researchers stayed here while conducting studies on Lake Whatcom. The house was comfortable and a nice spot to relax after long days on the water. The neighborhood is quiet, which was a plus for us. Emma was very helpful and accommodating. Pleasant all around.

Amazing, peaceful, beautiful scenic cabin by the lake. We had a great time here as a family during our 4 day stay. The neighbours were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The resourceful and thoughtful owners left us with access to a kayak and paddle board among other recreational items. Would definitely recommend others to stay here. One thing that could improve is having less rules for self- cleanup before checking out, either get the hired cleaners to do it or think about omitting/reducing the cleaning fee!

We loved our stay at the Lake View Chalet! The proximity to the lake cannot be beat. The home had lots of space and little touches that made it super comfortable. The communication with Emma was a breeze as was the check-in/check out process. Would definitely recommend staying here.

We had an excellent time at this property. The is a good amount of space to hang out and relax. There are also tons of beds. The lake views are amazing. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. It is quite a ways from town, but we never were worried about theft or issues. The parking situation isn't ideal. Fitting 4 cars may be a stretch in the description. Other than that it was a perfect stay. Thank you so much.
