Jonathan thought of everything . The house had all the amenities of home. the view of the lake was incredible. The house was clean and there was more than enough room for 5 adults. We had a wonderful time and we would stay here again.

Owner thought of everything for a comfortable stay. Lovely updated house with large window views of inland waters and enough space for everone. Grade school kids were never bored with pingpong, games, books, gameboy, crayfishing, etc. Close enough to go to Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We have stayed at other houses and this house is one of the best and we will want to return.

The property is beautiful and well set up for a family getaway. Rooms are large and spacious with multiple bathrooms that can accommodate several generations. It has beautiful views of the tranquil water within the house and out. It was well equipped in the kitchen, and lots for kids of all ages to do (multiple yard games, water equipment, and indoor room with ping pong).

Our visit to Matthew’s was wonderful. The home was pleasant and spacious. Plenty of room for our crew! The kids enjoyed the peddle boat and kayaks, even in November! Plenty of relaxation, playing and food prep areas! One of our better rentals!

We had a little family reunion and this house was perfect for it. Many rooms to spread out and have conversation and laughs. Best stocked kitchen I have ever had in a rental house! Beautiful dock for sunrises and sunsets. The view is amazing. If I had any complaint, it would be that there was only 1 towel per person and most houses I rent, I feel like the standard is 2 per person. So just bring an extra towel if 1 is not sufficient for you. Besides that, I highly recommend.

We spent time on the dock catching crabs with the pots and on lines with chicken legs, paddled up the creek in the kayaks, played yard games and hung out in the sunroom- kids table/chairs were nice. Great house for our family of 6 adults and 2 infants. The house had all of the entertainment we needed- corn hole, can jam, ladder golf etc. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware, spices and cleaning supplies. Second refrigerator in garage was helpful. Mathews was a cute town with a grocery store and a couple restaurants. Enjoyed Richards for ice cream and on tap craft brews. Would love to return.

Jon's home was one of the best equipped places I've stayed. Every detail was thought out. The charm of the old home with the comfort of the new addition was perfect. The bed was so comfortable and i appreciated the quality linens. The kitchen had everything we needed. We used the fishing poles to cast a few times. Sitting on the dock in the morning and evening made for a restul stay. I highly recommed staying in this beautiful home.

This beautiful house, tucked back in the woods was an unbelievably magical place for our family to enjoy a long weekend. The owner, Jon, was amazing in all communication. The house was stocked with everything you needed to have a fun, carefree, exciting vacation and it just a short 10-minute drive to Haven Beach for the full on beach experience. It was probably the most comfortable and relaxing vacation we have had in a LONG time! Without a doubt, we will be returning.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the pristine cleanliness and the breathtaking water views that greeted us. The house itself was incredibly spacious, providing ample room for our entire group to relax and unwind. The open layout and tasteful decor created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making us feel right at home. It was evident that the owners have taken great care in maintaining this property. One of the highlights of our stay was the private dock, which allowed us to engage in a unique and enjoyable experience. We had an absolute blast catching blue crabs right off the dock. It was an unexpected treat that provided us with unforgettable memories and added a special touch to our getaway. The location of the home was ideal, offering a peaceful and serene environment away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. We enjoyed the tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings, as well as the convenience of having the water just a short walk away. My family and I used this house as a base for exploring Williamsburg, Yorktown, and Jamestown. It wasn't a far drive each day and gave my son a yard to run around in. He loved setting the crab traps! Close to the restaurants in Mathews and not far from Gloucester either yet you feel a world away. The house was immaculate and spacious. Loved the game room, dock, and kayaks! We had wet, cold, windy, rainy weather most of the time but we would love to come back in warmer months and jump right off the dock! Jon was a great host and replied promptly to all my messages. We'll be back!

This peaceful and pristine farmhouse provided a wonderful getaway for my family. No detail is overlooked -- from a sunny kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook family meals, to the luxurious beds and cozy furnishings, to the indoor and outdoor games and equipment for fishing and crabbing -- there is something here for every age. Lots to do in the area, but you won't want or need to leave the property! Stunning views. Picture perfect. Would definitely love to return!

My wife and I just needed a quick get away to get some peace and calm back in our lives and I would say this house delivered. It was wonderful just to look out over the water and walk out on the dock. The house was super clean. The beds mattresses and linens were so comfortable we didn't want to get up in the morning. This was a great way just to escape the business of daily life.
