Location was amazing. But room is a little tiny and cramp. But it is clean and staff are extremely friendly. But at night i can hear the emergence respond vehicles quite often.
2.0 / 5.0
The hotel is located on the busy street so you will sometimes hear sirens or noise at night. The condition of the hotel is good and the room is big comparing to other hotels in the area. Simple breakfast is provided, which is a plus.

This was a great hotel. The staff was friendly and spoke in english, the rooms were great and had a lot of space, the services they offered was also great, etc...If I ever return to Tokyo, this is definitely going to be my go-to hotel.

Great location. Relatively spacious room in downtown Shinjuku.

The location was convenient but the air conditioner was set in warm only, if I can change to cool, it will be perfect.

The air conditioner may broken in my room, but everything are great beside that.

Close to everything but far enough from the craziness than can be had in Shibuya. I’ve stayed here before it’s reincarnation into WPU. Would recommend

I like the young vive here. The lobby and the communal kitchen and sofa area is very comfy and lovely. All the staffs are super kind, and speaks fluent english. I want to visit again.

Room was very clean, staff was nice and helpful. Conveniently located to Shinjuku station and shinjuku attractions. This hotel exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend.

Ended up with 2 single beds that was a bit sad.
I stayed here in april an was superhappy this time it wasn't the same. Last time they had 50% of on beer for guests at hotel in the basement bar and 2000 yen for a beer is not worth it.

The location is excellent and the hotel was very clean. The room is very tiny but it is common single room size in Japan I assume as it was same in Osaka last year. The bed was very comfy. They have shared kitchen area on the 2nd floor by the reception desk and I found it was very convenient and useful. Didn't cook there but bought foods and brought it there to eat as the set up for tables is like a cafe.
The staff were all nice.
Overall, it was a great stay and I would definitely stay again.

The room was perfect size for one person and close to everything in Shinjuku.
The staff was helpful and the hotel had a cafe/bar with lots of craft beer, good desserts and food.

WPU shinjuku was a great place to stay. Room size was large, beds comfortable, the bathrooms got space and AC cools the room quick. Everything was also clean as you would expect. only negative is 1 of the 4 cups provided had some left over coffee in it. Not a big deal for me but thought id mention it here. Location is perfect for exploring shinjuku, as well as lots of the staff speak english. I would stay here again.

The best location in Shinjuku. Five mins from the Shinjuku station. Five mins walk from the core 歌舞伎町 area. Many nice local serving Japanese restaurants with a few mins walking distance. The hotel even provide complementary breakfast.

It's very conveniently located, but the wall is thin, and outside is noisy.
Breakfast is free but it's just 2 types of bread and some coffee and orange juice. I didn't expect that

Helpful and friendly staff. American and other English speaking tourists are fortunate that the Japanese speak English so well.

I’m not sure why the ratings are so high for this hotel. While the staff is very lovely and helpful, I found the hotel a bit dingy. Even by Tokyo standards this was the smallest room and bathroom I have seen. And I do not understand this property- is it a dorm for students or a hotel?

It was our first stay in tokyo as a young couple. It was a nice stay. I especially praise the staff as my partner had a medical issues and they organised a visit and a taxi for us to get there and where really really helpful

Location is fantastic - on the less busy side of Shinjuku (northwest of the station), but still close to public transport. Staff were really kind and friendly.
Worst part is probably the age of the property - the room is very old, small and the pictures in the listing are somewhat misleading. Based on maps around the area, I believe the hotel used to be an Ibis.

Convenient! The staff were fantastic!
Room was very small and the bed was very hard so I couldn’t sleep well! The pillow was good though!

Great place for a solo traveler and had everything I needed in a small space for a great price. Staff was very friendly, spoke fluent English when asked, and they even flipped the escalator direction to help me with my luggage on the way out. Great location and would definitely stay again.

If you want to be close to Kabukicho without being approached by seedy people, this is definitely the place to go. I walked very late at night through here with my wife and felt very safe and no one bothered us. Excellent location and very clean rooms. All of the staff knew pretty much perfect English. Can’t recommend this hotel enough. If I come back to Shinjuku I’d definitely book again. The only thing is that Apple Maps has two locations marked for this hotel so make sure you go to the right building. It should be on a main street on a second floor with a burger restaurant on the first floor.

Very good access to shinjuku metro lines, JR and good shopping & dining places but some rooms are too noisy to sleep in night due to being very close to big street.

It’s fairly enough for a single tourist, small room but with everything, the only thing I don’t like is the winds of the air conditioner, it’s blowing directly to your head, it makes me headache

First of all, the staff at WPU was very helpful, friendly, and accomodating. We arrived at the hotel in the morning, they assured us that our rooms would be next to each other and helped store our luggage for us until we came back to get our keys in the evening. The rooms are big enough for us to keep 2 large luggage open and more. Even though the bathroom is on the smaller side, it's clean. The water pressure and temperature were good. The laundry facility was convenient and cheap. It has the perfect location. We love the fact that even though it's about a block away from the busy part of Shinjuku, it's safe and quiet. And the convenience store is just a few steps away. The hotel itself is also very close to Shinjuku station. If you think you're going to take the taxi, please make sure you have the address of the hotel, as many taxi drivers don't know where WPU is.

The property is ok in this area. Have some smell when we checked in. They came re-clean the room so the smell improved. It’s an noisy area that can’t improve but the hotel provided ear plugs to use.

Great property. My wife and I are around 60 and we loved this spot. The staff was so great and having a breakfast area and lounge (and a free light breakfast) was a real bonus. The room was very clean and WPU is located in the heart of Shinjuku which is a great tourist area. It is also right next to the Shinjuku train/subway station which can get you to anywhere else in Japan, including the airport. For new travelers .... the train ride and to and from the airport on the Narita express is almost 90 minutes so plan accordingly.
WPU also has a bar/restaurant/craft brewery on the ground floor and offers half price drinks for those who stay at the hotel during their 5-7pm happy hour. That was a great bonus. The rooms are small but that is typical of rooms in Japan. Highly recommend.
