About this house rental
Summary:
Get back in touch with nature in a farmhouse-style property next to abundant woodlands and hiking trails (Permit 181242). It's an airy, skylit space with honey-colored hardwood floors and a well-equipped kitchen. Bathe in a claw-foot tub and relax on a wooden porch.
Please note that this house shares the property with the owners who live in the main house, and an Airstream. The property is also serviced by landscapers and pest services.
The Space:
This is our guest house located on the same property as our home (about 50 feet away). We also have an Airstream that friends and family stay in which is located on the property (also located about 50-100 feet away).
- Comfortably sleeps up to 4 adults, but more targeted to a small family since its 1 bedroom (Queen Bed) and 1 pullout couch in the living room (plus there is a 1 car limit)
- 1 bedroom
- 1 pullout couch in the living room
- 1 bathroom
- 1 reserved parking space in the driveway
- Fully stocked kitchen w/ drip coffee maker
- Living room
- Patio w/ seating & BBQ

- No gatherings or parties allowed (strictly enforced)

The Neighborhood:
The Santa Cruz Mountains offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle. This lush and forested region is a nature lover's dream, featuring towering redwood groves, hiking and biking trails, and pristine state parks like Big Basin Redwoods State Park. With picturesque vistas, it's an idyllic setting for outdoor activities, including birdwatching and camping. The Santa Cruz Mountains also boast a thriving wine scene, with vineyards and wineries producing exceptional varietals. It's a place to unwind, disconnect, and find solace in nature's beauty, making it a perfect retreat for those seeking tranquility and outdoor adventure.
This is a very quiet, family neighborhood. It is not a good place for gatherings or parties so please keep that in mind when booking this home. We are very respectful of our neighbors and will not tolerate loud noise past curfew and additional guests at the property.
Getting Around:
Branciforte Drive connects to all the main road and if very close to both highway 17 (takes about 30 minutes to get to San Jose) and highway 1 (takes about 10 minutes to all the sister beach towns, like Capitola).
- Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk + Main Beach (10 minute drive)
- The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park (20 minute drive)
- Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park (20 minute drive)
- The Mystery Spot (3-5 minute drive)
- Capitola Village (10-15 minute drive)
- Monterey Bay Aquarium (1 hr drive)
- Whole Foods & Safeway (5-10 minute drive)
- Seabright Beach (10 minute drive)
Other Things to Note:
- Our beautiful location means cell service can be a bit spotty, but you’ll still be able to make calls over Wi-Fi to stay connected during your stay.
- A friendly family lives in the main house across from the guest house, adding a welcoming neighborhood feel, and there’s another rental nearby that you might notice guests coming and going from.
- This is a shared property with a shared parking area. You’ll have one designated spot on the property.
- Nestled in the redwoods and set behind a gated fence, the home offers a serene forest escape. However, the road outside can see occasional fast-moving cars, so if you’re visiting with small children, please be mindful if the gate is open.
- We have landscapers, pest service, and other property maintenance done on a weekly basis. You may see or hear these service professionals during your stay as they let themselves into the backyard to service as needed. Please be sure to ask about this before booking if you think it might be an issue for you.
- TV is a smart tv with streaming capabilities. There are no cable or local channels.
- The exterior of this home is monitored by 24/7 surveillance recording devices for safety.
- We are required to stick to our cancellation policy and we suggest adding trip insurance for any last minute issues that may impact your travel (Weather, Illness, etc). We are not able to cancel, move or refund bookings that do not fall in our cancellation policy for any reason.
