The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was nice, clean and well decorated apart from a broken window opener and no coffee/tea facilities in the room. Also sharing a toilet and shower room with 4 other rooms was not so good. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay.
4.3
The poor rating on cleanliness is based on 1 bathroom/wc shared between 5 rooms, all of which were let during our stay. It is not sanitary to have to use the toilet and shower with strangers.
4.3
Stunning views and very peaceful with ample car parking.
One shared bathroom between five bedrooms did not work for me though as the previous users of the bathroom had left their pubic hair in the shower. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and only the tiniest of mirrors. The water pressure of the shower was very poor.
Pleasant friendly staff and a hearty dinner menu.
4.3
Fabulous staff, very helpful and caring.
Lovely room.
Great food!
4.3
Check in was subpar - staff seemed more annoyed than welcoming. Then came the ridiculously loud music in the evening that kept us up till 1.30am. Shower pressure was basically non-existent. Wifi didn't work. Check out in the morning was unclear so we just left the keys in the door.
4.3
Staff were friendly and the room was nice. Unfortunately having to share the bathroom was not ideal.

Friendly staff

Very enjoyable stay. Easy check in. Excellent place to spend a few days. Weather definitely helped that.
Very nice ceiling fan with lighting good enough for Wembley Stadium!
Only thing I would say could be improved was the shower as it just seemed a bit low on pressure.
4.3
Fantastic stay. The views the sevice - impeccable.
4.3
It was fine for a one night stay providing you like a shared bathroom between about 6 rooms.
Nice location is a big selling point overlooking the River Avon
4.3
Lovely country pub with nice view over the river, staff very accomodating and welcoming so service A1 *****. Food was also very good in evening and they accomodated my request for a continental breakfast also. Parking easy very large car park and nice outdoor rear garden overlookign their touring site. Only down side was the sharred bathroom , if it was not for this I woudl 100% stay again.

My room overlooked a river The area was very picturesque

This pleasant out-of-the-way location, plus its staff's attention to customer care in all areas, makes for a terrific stay. My room above the restaurant/pub was perfect for a solo traveler - even with a shared bath. Also, the food served was tasty and at a fair price. Highly recommend the Fish and Anchor for those seeking a truely English countryside experience.

Lovely shared bathroom
Only 2 cups to share for 6 rooms so couldn’t have a cup of coffee or tea
4.3
Great location, food and friendly, welcomming staff.
4.3
Great place for a couple of days stop over. Stage a very friendly and efficient. Room very comfortable and more than enough space. Food very good and selection of beers also excellent. Only drawback is the shared bathroom, it didn’t bother us but some may find it a bit awkward. All in all we had a very enjoyable couple of days there
4.3
The room was filthy dirty, there were bugs in the bathroom and it stunk of damp. There are mould spores along the window frames, it is a very unhealthy environment. the welcome was shocking, I walked in to check in only to overhear the receptionist on a call moaning as her last guest hadn’t arrived to check in yet and that she was annoyed! Charming!

Very little toilet paper in the shared bathroom but lovely meal, clean, comfy bed and bedding, beautiful view out of bedroom window, friendly staff
4.3
In a lovely area very close to the Cotswolds. The Management and staff were excellent. Will stay again
4.3
Friendly and helpful staff. Bedroom would benefit from an ensuite.

Very clean nice view of the river. Kitchen has all you need.helpful staff. I would stay again

beautiful, quiet place

Pub was nice did shut early however we understand that it’s early season, I don’t feel the room we had advertised a shared bathroom very well as I’d of never of booked, there’s a key safe to enter accommodation however after returning at midnight from visiting family the key was missing so we had to phone an emergency number the person arrived within 15 mins however not an ideal situation be more convenient with a key coded door
Room was small but bed was clean and comfortable I will say the apartment room was a lot better as we viewed it but couldn’t upgrade as it was booked , area around the pub was really nice

The staff are very good, they are extremely obliging.
Nothing is too much trouble.

Great for our overnight stay

Lovely old pub, rooms were modern and in good condition. Bar and restaurant were excellent and staff really friendly and helpful. Right on the river Avon. The shared bathroom was not a problem and the kitchen area meant we could make our own breakfast and coffees etc.

In all my travels I’ve never ever met a bunch of staff that were ALL so lovely. Nothing too much . Totally exceeded my expectations ! Thank you.

Next to the river. Peaceful.

Sorry but a shared bathroom for six rooms in this day and age and after COVID is not acceptable, I admit I need to read full details in future but it does say in their description. Then to decide to eat in the restaurant and 2 hours to complete a pub meal hmmmmmm. Firstly shown the Chinese new year menu but wasn’t for us, then to be told that it will take longer to serves us the normal menu why I don’t know they do it day after day. And we’re still paying customers. We had the panoramic double this just means it has 2 windows I think. Bed is comfy but please put a sheet and a bigger quilt on it so we don’t spend the night wrestling the duvet between us. Breakfast was lovely but won’t be back.

The boiler was broken but they did everything to make us comfortable .The lady who was behind the bar and a waitress and making up the wood burners was amazing and she is definitely a credit to them. Enjoyable stay will go back in the summer .

I slept like a baby to be fair. Yhe bed was ckean and comfy. ÞThe room was basic. As woman i felt a little vunerable. The shared bathroom had a flimsy lock and i didnt feel 100% safe. Would probably be absolutely fine and suitable for solo men having a cheap night. But from a womans perspective, definitely improve the bathroom lock and maybe just improve on a few home luxurys like a mirror in the bedroom.

On arrival the instructions that had been emailed prior to arrival didn’t work. When we entered the pub one of ‘the locals’ was rude to us. We felt like an inconvenience to the proprietor who said she couldn’t leave the bar to see to us then told us our key was in our room door but didn’t tell us what room number we were staying in. She left us in the room whilst she went downstairs to get another towel as only 1 towel had been left in the room.
We quickly left and booked a Premier Inn locally. We didn’t stay at the accommodation. Very disappointed.
By no fault of Hotels.com, we didn’t read thoroughly the accommodation we booked had a shared bathroom with the other residents so that was a misunderstanding on our part so I can’t really comment on the cleanliness of accommodation because we didn’t visit the bathroom.
This accommodation should be advertised better as ‘a hostel’ and it should be made more clearly that the washing facilities are shared.
Very disappointed but the Premier Inn was great.

The rooms are modern and well maintained with good quality furnishings and TVs, the only thing they could improve is the seating - folding chairs just aren't comfortable enough to really use. The staff are friendly and helpful although the rooms are very much self contained. The kitchen area is a really useful addition and it's very well equipped so entirely functional. Having a shared shower room didn't bother me personally, especially as the shower is extremely high quality. The food in the attached pub is good quality with a pleasant atmosphere and residents get a discount which is very thoughtful. No food on Sunday so alternative arrangements need to be considered.

My friends were staying at the back of the pub in their caravans … Six of them … As I’m on my own , I stayed in a single room at the pub which was just great . We had a pre- Christmas dinner and a great day was had by All I really hope we will come back again

My mother and i stayed here for 1 night. When we arrived at around 2.30 our room was not ready, despite being able to check in from 1pm. The lady at the bar went to check our room which took a good 5 mins, meanwhile we were just stood waiting.
She returned to say it would be a few minutes as they were decorating and needed to move things before we could go up.
When we got to our room, it was pleasant, however I had failed to notice that there was no bathroom when i made the booking. There was a shared bathroom, across the hall and around the corner. Had we realised this we probably wouldnt have booked. When we went to use the bathroom, it wasnt until i washed my hands that i realised there was no hand towel, so had to go back to my room with wet hands.
My mother went to visit the bathroom a little later and was met by an elderly gentleman in just his shirt and hopefully his underpants (she didnt look to see, but he definitely had no trousers on)
The next morning we went to the bathroom, the floor was soaking wet from another guest having a shower. There is no bath mat and still no hand towel. I would suggest maybe some paper hand towels. And perhaps one of the wooden bath mats you can get.
Also a box of tissues in the bedroom would be nice, along with a hairdryer.
The door to the accomodation is only accesed from outside and you need to use the key safe to get the key to enter. Which when it is raining is not nice.
When we came to check out, no one was around to help

Average place if just need a clean bed for the night, £35 was fair enough
4.3
I had an enjoyable three night stay in a newly redecorated room. The breakfast was excellent too.
The bathroom is shared, but was clean. There is a spacious shared kitchen, which is open to be used by guests.
4.3
I arrived when bar was busy for bonfire party and shown to my room. No information in room. Hotels.com information indicates free WiFi but none of my devices could connect and also refers to a communal kitchen which i wasn't shown and didn't find. No kettle or drinks in rooms (maybe the elusive kitchen). Slept well in comfy bed and shower room was clean, tidy and well equipped.
4.3
Staff done well considering there was only two of them. Excellent choice of beers. Food was good especially the grilled sausages and mash. If every room had it's own en-suite it would be fantastic.
