An amazing place with just a few things to improve, but I can't complain, really

With the renovated facade of an older building, this hostel is really outstanding. I haven't been to a better place in NZ or Australia yet... The room of 8 people was spacious, we had two en-suite bathrooms, towels were provided, there were various facilities like the Library, Zen Room, Study Room, etc. done in a very stylish way. I'm not surprised that the building received an award.. The kitchen area was nice, too, I just don't understand why it's so small for a hostel of this size (4 levels with lots of rooms). There could have been some trays or small shelves next to the beds, too, which many other less amazing hostels do have. Very small details, though! Overall, I LOVED this place. Oh, and the bar downstairs (Rambler) is a great venue as well! It feels like you're in something much more expensive than a hostel.

The kitchen was very small for the size of the hostel. There weren't any bedside shelves/trays for personal items like glasses and phones. Can't really complain much, though.

a must stay

location, the bed, the room the facilities

their digital key. I booked from.10th to 15th. but the key suddenly stopped working on the 12th I had a shock. apparently there was some error and the bed was also wrongly allocated LUCKILY...I didn't need to shift. but other than this...it is fine. oh but the staff quickly solved it for me. which was good jsut that little inconvenience that didn't affect the experience there much.

Schönes Hotel im Zentrum, alle Sehenswürdigkeiten fußläufig erreichbar.

Das Hotel liegt im Zentrum von Christchurch, sehr gute öffentliche Verkehrsanbindung, gebührenpflichtiger Parkplatz vor dem Hotel. Zimmer sehr schön und ruhig, auch von der Größe her passend. Wer also die Stadt erkunden will ist gut bedient.

Das Frühstück ist zwar günstig, jedoch ausbaufähig. Es steht eine von vier warme Speisen zur Auswahl und dazu jeweils ein Heißgetränk, alles andere muss man extra bezahlen.

Great shared spaces. Lovely fitout. Staff are helpful and efficient. Great location for walking.

Location is great for walking Christchurch, but not if you’re bring a vehicle. There is limited paid parking adjacent ($13) but otherwise you’d have to leave it on the street in the city at night. Communal areas are fabulous.

The room layout was strange. Queen bed would be better located in the bigger room upstairs under the skylight with a view to the night sky? One bathroom that was spartan and very cramped. I will note that having a dining nook and absolutely zero amenities - not even a cup to get water from the bathroom tap made that seem redundant. If I’m paying hotel room rates, I’d love to at least have bottled water and a kettle to make a tea without having to take a long trip down to the communal kitchen. Especially if I’m tired from flights and want to stay in.

Excellent stay. The best value for money on our whole trip.

Convenient location, close to bus station and central to all amenities. We didn’t use the cinema/yoga studio etc but fabulous that something like this is on offer. We had a queen room and it was as good as others we had paid a lot more for around NZ. Excellent value for money.

Stylish, fun and great value in the central city

Fantastic value for a suite, with a pleasant private terrace, lounge, and record player and LPs! Luxury backpackers with great communal facilities and fun vibe. Convenient location within a block of central bus terminal and walking distance to all the best CBD spots.

No kettle, mugs etc in suite, so had to get everything from (well stocked) communal kitchen 3 floors below to enjoy a cuppa in lovely private lounge and terrace. Practical but very compact bathroom.

Stylish hostel in excellent location

Public area are very nice. Shared kitchen, refrigerators are well organized and clean. Board game access is a good idea to have some fun. Comfortable bed and stylish bed light design. Big open balcony. Service is very good, warm and helpful.

Washroom draining is a bit noisy when other neighbor guests are taking shower. Sound or motion triggered lightening system turned off too fast.

Luxurious hostel, minutes from intercity bus stop

What a plush hostel. A wide range of entertainment & even movie night! Loved the yoga sessions you could join in the mornings too. This was a luxurious hostel & would recommend anyone to stay here whilst in Christchurch

Comfortable hostel directly next to InterCity bus terminal

It is a very modern hostel with a lot of nice place where you can sit. The couches look new, they are comfortable. The kitchen is totally clean, the hot water dispenser is smart because you click on a safety button before the hot water comes out. Small details but I totally like this. The beds have curtains for more privacy. The staff communicated very friendly and really interested. It is directly next to the InterCity bus terminal. Really helpful when you have heavy luggage. Another advantage. Wonderful accommodation! I intend to stay here again.

인생 최고의 호스텔. 모든 인테리어와 시설. 깨끗한 부엌. 엄청 푹신한 매트리스와 엄청 두꺼운 이불과 두꺼운 베개2개. 수건 제공. 드라이기는 리셉션에 물어보면 대여해줌. 욕실이 엄청 깨끗함. 침대가 엄청 튼튼하고 방음 잘됨. 냄새가 좋음. 도미토리룸 내에 욕실이 2개나 있음. 친절한 직원. 스마트폰으로 키 연동 방식이라 편리. 버스정류장 도보2분거리 같은블록, 최고의위치. 갓 오픈한 숙소라서 컨디션이 별점10개도 모자라는 정도리서 너무 좋음. 사람들이 많이 올 것 같은데 다들 깨끗하게 유지해주세요.

Amazing! Hidden gem!

Was an amazing stay! Very luxurious hotel feeling. The design and attention to detail was amazing. Multiple hangout areas. Such great value! Was so clean and comfortable - we wanted to extend our trip just to stay here longer! Plugs next to the bed, heat pump, shampoo and conditioner, Netflix available, shower pressure and temperature were good. Lots of on street parking and parking lots and buildings near by. Lots of shops and food close by too. We will be coming back!

The floor in the bathroom gets quite wet from the shower but dried quickly.

My 7 year old daughter wished she can stay longer to enjoy all Drifter offers!

The place is probably the best I have stayed in the whole of South Island. Modern and spacious accommodation without breaking your bank! It is hard to find an accommodation like that nowadays. The Zen Room, Theatre and the cafe are top notch! Their laundry room is running with the most modern mode of payment, you can pay using your mobile like an online shopping and to make sure you come back for your clothes, the machine will text you!

Beautiful lux hostel in perfect location

Amazing new hostel right next to both the bus station and the main restaurant blocks, couldn't be a better location. Very modern and comfortable, felt like a hip retreat center with the beautiful many different common areas. Controllable thermostat in each room. Highly recommend, totally worth the slightly higher price compared to a regular hostel.

The best hotel you could pick in New Zealand. Extremely unique. Exactly what a modern hotel should be.

The property itself is amazing. Shared facilities include a kitchen, games room, yoga studio, library, and cinema room. The rooms are beautiful, both the private and dorms. The staff are absolutely lovely, extremely personable, and attentive.

The space is very new and clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked for a recommendation for food and they were really helpful with that. I love how roomy the hostel is and it was super cleannnn. Hope it stays like that!

The sheets get so cold in winter! Parking around the area is very expensive. Would be great if free parking is available for guests (dk if it is to those who don't stay hostel) but this would really be helpful!

Seriously the best place I’ve ever booked :)

Everything was so clean and fresh. The staff were incredible and so helpful. The facilities were amazing and unlike anything I’ve ever had at an accommodation, especially so close to the city. It was easily the best accommodation I’ve stayed in. :)
