Convenient location with eateries in walking distance. No hand rail meant difficulty mounting the wide slippery steps. Room was okay but numerous little problems like leaking kettle, off milk, flashing main light that meant we had to only use bed lights made our stay less than perfect. Staff were lovely and tried hard to help immediately but it spoilt our time there. Only continental breakfast offered but there was full English signposted in the dining room. Don’t think we’ll be back

This hotel was located in a very safe and pleasant area.
The quality of the room was perfect. Spacious and very clean. The breakfast was very good compared to other breakfast we.ve had in London. Overall this was a perfect stay for us. We.ll be back!

This was our third stay at the Ashburn over the years. It is difficult to find what passes in London for moderately priced rooms that are not tiny. The Ashburn does offer that. It is not posh - the furniture is old fashioned and worn. But for us, that's a trade worth making. It's quite near the Gloucester Road tube station, which is on the Picadilly, Circle and District lines, the lines we use most often.
The service was good - we had a few issues - my husband is tall, the bed seemed shorter than the last time we were there, but after discussing it with the staff, we realized we could pull it away from the headboard a little and that mitigated the problem - if you are more than 6'2 that could be a problem for you. Also the air conditioning is centrally controlled, and if someone wants it warmer or colder than you do, that's a problem, as they have to choose who to make uncomfortable - we were facing the street and with the windows open it was very noisy, so that wasn't a solution (with the windows closed, no noise issue execpt we could hear the train, but didn't bother us). We got a fan and problem solved. One note - the last time we stayed, it was during a horrible heatwave and we had no problem at all with the air con, so the capacity is fine.
The lady in the breakfast room was lovely.

Lovely hotel , the staff were very friendly and efficient , the room was clean , spacious but for some reason the kettle and tea making facility was inside the wardrobe , another little table in the room is surely a much more safe option . The only real downside is the restaurant , it's tiny foir the size of the hotel and a lot of the tables are crammed in and if they are all taken you are asked to wait in the corridor . Only had the continental breakfast which was ok but probably not worth the money paid

Decent hotel. Pleasant stay. It’s expensive for what you get but it’s in a good area of London near various attractions and with good transport links. Breakfast is pretty basic. Staff were nice.

I enjoyed my stay at The Ashburn Hotel. Conveniently located within a few minutes to Gloucester Road Station, plenty of restaurants, cafes and Tesco in easy walking distance, even a very affordable laudrette in walking distance. The staff was kind, helpful and very accommodating, staff allowed me into my room 2 hours early, which I appreciated after a long flight from Denver. While, The Ashburn Hotel is on busy Cromwell Rd., but my room was very quiet, didn’t hear a thing!

The breakfast was lunch meat and toast. They would not turn on the heat to our room and we froze! Area was mostly Lebanese stores, restaurants and shops. Vert close to tube. No restaurant and bar was terrible. Rooms were clean, bathrooms we very old and basic.

Very nice reasonably price hotel only 2.5 blocks to Gloucester Tube. British Natural History Museum is about 5 blocks away. Numerous eateries in the area I recommend Comatr Libanese, they have a 3-6 pm happy hour and a buy 2 get one free Mezza on Mondays.

We were told on arrival at 5 pm our room was not ready but apparently upgraded? No breakfast included though. Rooms were nice and big but overall the hotel was very old and outdated. I will say it did offer a very convenient location in a nice area and super close to the tube. My biggest complaint is one night we came home late after the wedding we attended after midnight and our door was left wide open by cleaning staff. Thankfully nothing was missing but we were extremely upset and reported this. Offered a free breakfast but still felt uneasy. Needless to say we kept the do not disturb sign on each day to avoid cleaning just asked for fresh towels.

Our stay at Ashburn Hotel was pretty average. The hotel is in a nice location close to the tube and we did get upgraded to a larger room which was nice. We were very glad to have air conditioning, however the AC unit smelled strongly of mold every time it ran. We tried not to use it but it was 90F during our stay. We were also disappointed that there wasn't anywhere in our room close to an outlet and a mirror, making getting ready in the morning difficult. We asked for an extension cord but were told no. The temperature and water pressure in the shower was constantly changing which was annoying. We did get a good deal on Hotels.com so we don't regret our stay, but next time I will probably spring for something better.

This property is an excellent value and is in a great location. Stayed for a week and was very comfortable. Walked to Buckingham Palace (About a mile and a half away). The staff was very helpful, especially Andy at the front desk. They printed tickets for us and offered great advice about the area. The hotel is one block from the Tube and a grocery store. Breakfast was ok, and included in the room. Meats, cheese, and multiple bread options available. A little variety would be nice, but it was worth the inclusion in the room price for sure. The hotel is quiet and the room was large. The king size bed was two mattresses connected, but it didn’t bother us much. Some of the items in the room were older, but in good working order. The price i got was great, and i a, very glad we stayed there. Excellent experience with the hotel.

We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely go back. There were some small cleanliness issues at check in but were quickly resolved. The best part of the stay was the very friendly and helpful staff members. Special mention of Mr. Abdi who always greeted us with a smile and was always very willing to help.

The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk from Gloucester Road where you'll find the Gloucester Road Underground Station, plenty of good restaurants and the Waitrose Supermarket. More restaurants on nearby Portobello Road. Another few minutes walk brings you to the Museum of Natural History and the Victoria and Albert Museum - both not-to-be-missed!
The hotel itself is just meh. Our room was small but adequate with a comfortable bed. The tub/shower was a real challenge. The tub was VERY high and required serious concentration getting into and out of it. The shower controls were overly complicated. And both the shower and sink would shut off without warning.
The hotel's personnel were friendly, but made promises that were not kept. We were supposed to get two new bottles of water every day - that happened once in our 7-day stay. Promised cookies were given about half the time. Maid service was spotty - she didn't always leave a fresh bar of soap, didn't replace an empty box of tissues and didn't always remove used cups and saucers.
Cold Breakfasts were just fair with limited selections. The
hot English breakfast was much more expensive.
We don't stay in London for the hotels, but there are other hotels close by that offer a better experience.
