This is our 2nd trip to Chicago this year. My husband and I knew we would be back at the River Hotel. The service at check in, during our stay, and check out was perfection!

Well worth the price. Water stations are great. Gym is great.

I love the River Hotel! We stay here every time we visit. The location is perfect, staff are amazing and so friendly, the rooms are always clean and perfect. Yes the rooms are on the smaller side but who cares, you’re not in them that much. They are still great. Plus the hotel is perfectly located for just about everything.

All was as expected except there was only one operational elevator which resulted in long waits

Great hotel by the river and MIchigan St. Location was excellent for shopping and walking to great restaurant. The hotel/rooms were clean and well upkeeped. The female worker at the reception was excellent, very helpful. My truck didn’t fit at the parking garage provided by the hotel and she gave me a lot of suggestions of where else i can park and refunded the parking we had already paid with them. Will decently come back!

At check in, I was given the room I reserved. The front desk person was nice enough to waiver my early check in fee and gives us the correct room. That would have been fine but one of the 2 elevators was out of order and it was a MAJOR inconvenience. MN ade it worse because we left the hotel several times. A couple of those times we waited 5+ mins to get to our room.

There was NO assistance with baggage upon arrival, especially when it was obvious that I had two duffles, a backpack and a camera case. The front door very difficult to open. Check-in was terrible - hotel employee only pointed out how to check-in via a computer screen and had me hold my room card to program it. The registration desk was not used. Check-out, with the same employee, was equally poor.

Great location! Front desk was very helpful in giving some local recommendations.

hotel was in a good location, I had requested river view but if you're claustrophobic a corner room is not the room for you, the window was so small and I had called to ask to change but they were full for the day, I had to stay out of the room as much as possible which was not fun. The bathroom was outdated and didn't look clean the vents had dust, elevator took forever but other than that it was ok for one night.

Booked: two bedroom suite
Condition: bed was very comfy and linens felt lovely. Bathroom was well appointed. Spotlessly clean. Rooms could use a remodel and a spruce up, BUT it was not offensively outdated and I have NO complaints on the quality of the space. Microwave also functions as a convection oven. Plates, cups, utensils, cooktop, pots and pans included. Refrigerator is fairly generously sized. Love the water bottle filler across from the elevator. Staff were fantastic, helpful and fun! Location is superb at the corner of Wacker and Michigan in the middle of the Miracle Mile. Picked this hotel as the one I typically stay in was asking over $800 per night for a one bedroom suite that is a bit larger but no less convenient. This was a great alternative for 30% of the price basically leaving more money for $hopping!!!!! Will definitely return to this hotel in future.

Wonderful location and beautiful views. We stayed on the 3rd floor. Only con was the tv didn’t work and there were tiny ant looking bugs in the bathroom. Otherwise I’d definitely stay here again!

A closet of a room - no business making something so small and claustrophobic and it wasn't clean. The hotel itself has some character, but that doesnt save it for us. Area was great, but we'll absolutely stay somewhere else next time we're here.

Our view from the 15th floor was stunning. We were in a standard room with a queen sized bed, but unfortunately neither one of us slept well because the bed is just not comfortable at all. We appreciated the hotel
offering bottles to fill up with drinking water as that saved us a trip! I would recommend more hand towels and washcloths in the bathroom. We were only given 2 towels and one single wash cloth to use. Staff was kind and all in all it’s a beautiful and ideal location for travelers!

Bathroom wasn't clean, didn't leave soap for the counter or the shower, didn't leave a hair dryer, towels and carpet was frayed. Overall, there was an unclean aspect to this hotel and it didn't seem that the staff and managementc had the motivation to make things right.

My daughter and I went to Chicago to run the marathon. Booked The River hotel as it was one of the few hotels I could find with twin beds at a reasonable price located within walking distance to grant park. The room was compact but it was warm, clean, had a microwave oven, mini fridge and espresso machine. Location was absolutely brilliant. Magnificent mile just the other side of the river and plenty of shops, restaurants, bakeries right next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, only really had interaction at checking. Highly recommend, I certainly would stay there next time.

Staff was friendly and helpful.
My colleague had bedbugs in his room and had to relocate rooms.
The property has s total of 2 elevators servicing floors 11-41. There is no service elevator. One of the two elevators was out of service. During the morning and evening rush, it took 10-15 minutes to get to the rooms. Super annoying.
I wouldn't stay here again.
