About this cabin rental
This cozy, conveniently located, 440-square-foot cabin was built in 2023. It's less than 5 miles from the Appalachian Trail and Laurel Falls trailhead. Downtown Elizabethton is a 5-minute drive, and Watauga Lake is less than 10 miles away. The Thru-Hiker is ready to be your base camp for whatever adventures await you. It offers a warm, intimate space to rest your weary bones after a long day.
Kick back and enjoy your time in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We're thrilled you're here.
Additional info: Check-in is any time after 3:00 PM, and checkout is before 10:00 AM. If you're planning to arrive after dark, let me know and I'll leave the outside light on for you.
The Thru-Hiker can sleep up to 4 people with the green pull-out sofa and queen bed.
There isn't a "real" stove, but I provide a countertop double burner that can be found in the bottom left cabinet. There is also a red convection toaster oven that can fit up to 12 slices of bread and 2 12-inch pizzas, and includes a baking pan. Storage containers are located in the top cabinets for leftovers.
I do my best to repel insects, but occasionally a stink bug (or two) will find their way inside. They are harmless, but inconvenient. I apologize in advance if you cross paths during your stay.
Pets are more than welcome! It would be appreciated if dogs were not allowed on furniture with muddy/dirty paws.
To access Netflix/Hulu/etc on the smart TV, you will need to log in with your personal information. Everything in the cabin is pretty self-explanatory, but don't hesitate to message me directly if you have any questions. I'm happy to help!
A few small requests for checkout: put used towels on the floor in the bathroom, and throw away any trash that is lying around the cabin (no need to take the entire trash out). Place all dirty dishes, cups, and pots/pans in the sink, and lock the door once you leave.
No events or large parties are allowed. Quiet hours are between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Please no smoking or vaping inside - an additional 250.00 cleaning fee will be charged if this rule is ignored.
As you know, ratings are EXTREMELY important, especially for new hosts like me! :) Please, if anything comes up during your stay, reach out! I want you to have the best time, and though I've tried to think of everything to accommodate you during your stay, I want to know if something is missing.

Jess provides a beautiful small cabin just as advertised. Very clean. Comfortable bed and cozy couch. Wonderfully decorated. We enjoyed the coffee, but especially the variety of tea provided. Nice small quiet neighborhood. The fire put was fun and made for a quiet evening to sit outside.
