About this house rental
On the shores of Loch Lomond, this magnificent property is set in 98 acres of landscaped grounds and woodland and provides superb accommodation for a family get-together or special occasion.
Nothing short of magnificent, this immense stately home sits within 98 acres of private estate that merges with the glittering shores of Loch Lomond and the fringes of the newly-established RSPB wetland reserve nearby. Boasting infinite space for up to 21 people to spread out, come together or splinter off in groups, it is the ideal place for celebrating special occasions and hosting parties you’ll be dreaming about for years to come. From morning dips in the indoor heated swimming pool to hazy afternoons exploring the landscaped grounds to rollicking evenings playing games of sardines with all the family, this property is one you will want to return to again and again.
A sprawling nine-bedroom family home, this gorgeous property in Gartocharn, Alexandria has the kind of multi-generational appeal that will keep all family members riveted, from teeny tots to time-kissed veterans. Ideal for group gatherings, it is full of cosy corners for relaxing and glistening communal spaces for entertaining, including the Great Room with its double-height ceilings and picture windows framing stunning views of the lochans and Ben Lomond. While those looking for some downtime before dinner can settle in the conservatory with a glass of fizz or TV room with a holiday read, it won’t be long before the bairns discover the toy cupboard and extensive gadget and gismo collection. While the little kids play, the big kids can gather in the formal games room adjoining the Great Room which leads into an impressive drawing room with an open fire. Go head-to-head with a game of snooker before gathering in the open-plan kitchen/diner. A large, contemporary space, the kitchen revolves around a breakfast island and is finished with all sorts of useful appliances for cooking up family feasts. To round off the day, you will find nine super-comfortable bedrooms, including 4 doubles and 5 twins.
Start your day in the warmer months with coffee and tea outside on the patio, seated around the outdoor table and chairs. With views over an enclosed garden and access to the property’s children’s play area, mums and dads can sit back and relax whilst the kids let off steam playing games and loping about. For the more energetic in your party, private tennis courts await for rally practice, Murray-style. When hunger strikes again, make use of the BBQ for sizzling repasts surrounded by the raw natural beauty of this unique corner of the world.

Just back from staying at High Wards and our group of 18 had a fantastic weekend.
I planned a surprise party and people who work abroad flew over just for the weekend and said it was completely worth it! There's so many activities to do both outside and inside the house if the weather isn't so good. The swimming pool is a great size and all of us were comfortably able to fit into it at the same time. Emily the owner is very accommodating and is on hand for anything you need. The views from the house are also incredible.
Whether you're planning a birthday, family getaway, hen party or wedding - the house is suitable for any occasion!

I have stayed at High Wards on 3 different occasions and cannot recommend it highly enough. Luxurious but homely. Perfect location for families with young kids or teenagers, plenty to keep them occupied. The beds are so comfy with modern en suites. The Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need. The owners are so friendly and accommodating and no request is too much. I have stayed as part of a Hen Party, a wee Christmas girly weekend away and, most recently, for my husbands 50th birthday and I am now trying to think of another excuse to go again!
