We stayed here as part of our holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect for exploring the area. The accommodation itself is fabulous and as described. If ever we're back in the area, we'll stay here again. Bonus was the fact that my son learned to ride his bike here and he loved the neighbours ie the two sheep... Thank you to the hosts for adding to our amazing summer holiday experience. J,J & D

Very quaint little cottage. Nice and peaceful surroundings. Was nice to sit out in the back garden with a drink taking in the surroundings and watching the sheep and birds of prey. Nice walks in the vicinity too. Enjoyed our stay.

Absolutely loved The Apple Store! Lovely scenic spot and very accommodating hosts. Great location from which to tour the countryside and a charming cottage to come back to at night. I would enjoy another stay here.

Fantastic place to stay, unwind and be at one with nature! Not quite in the middle of nowhere but close enough. There are shops locally but we took what we needed for our stay so we could get away from everything. We ditched the car and walked everywhere. The forest is on your doorstep and a nature reserve just over the road.. Ideal place if you have dogs, enjoy walking and want to get away from daily life, just be aware of the hills. The house was cosy. A peaceful haven where you can sit outside and listen to the birds singing. My only criticism is the vrbo site, I went through the booking process at least four times and didn’t see where to add in dogs! The hosts were amazing though so we were able to pay on arrival for our four legged friends. This place is a definite must for those wanting to ditch the car!

It's a charming place hidden away in beautiful surroundings. Sheep grazing around are a nice feature!

I took my aunt away for a week to the Apple Store and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Sarah and Dom are great hosts. The cottage is warm and very comfortable. The local area is beautiful. We went to Monmouth, Abergavenny, symonds Yat and the sculpture Trail in The Forest of Dean and I walked down to Biblins and crossed the fabulous rope bridge. If you like walking there are loads of great walks locally and further a field. The only very small downside for us was my aunt not being able to use the shower due to the high step in and out with no handle to aid balance so after the first day she didn’t use it again. It didn’t spoil our enjoyment though and we would happily go there again.

It was good.

We were after some peace and quiet, time for family catch up and time outdoors with the dog. The location couldn't have been better, close to local nature reserves and places to wander. There was a lot of rain and flooding so we stuck to the bigger roads and more accessible areas but still had a fab time.
The cottage is clean, comfortable and has all the basic stuff you need for a trip away. The floorboards creek, the decor is a little old fashioned but it's an old barn, so that's part of the charm!
The views from outside are lovely. The hosts were friendly and helpful.
We will go back again.

What a trip! The property was the perfect place for friend, son and I. It has such a homely feel, the travel cot was set up in advance and Christmas lights still on. The area is stunning and the sheep had a few friendly chats with my baby boy who loved that they would come to the fence to see him!

The three of us found this the perfect place to relax and recharge. The cottage is well equipped! The neighboring sheep delightful. Walks galore in the area as well as charming villages and good restaurants. The Apple Store won’t disappoint!

Quiet countryside location with lovely views from the garden. The house is compact but cosy and private, despite being close to the owner’s home. Really well equipped and loved the little touches such as posy of fresh flowers, hand wash at every sink, washing line in the garden and bins in every room. These are small things but we’ve been to much larger, ‘luxury’ properties that have lacked these. Because the property is renovated around the original Apple store most of the rooms have small, slit windows which makes some of the rooms dark, but this didn’t spoil our stay. We also enjoyed meeting the friendly sheep. Left feeling wonderfully relaxed and hope to return in the future.

We were warmly welcomed by our hosts. The Apple store is cosy and well equipped. We enjoyed the beautiful outlook and watching the sheep in the valley and feeding the pet sheep. Fox cubs, a deer and many different birds kept us watching the wildlife. We were perfectly placed to visit local attractions as well as further afield.

the perfect place to explore the Wye Valley and Symonds Yat. Lovely hosts and beautiful rural setting.

Myself and my family absolutely loved this place. The hosts were lovely, discrete but always available if we had needed them (which we didn't as the property was very well prepared). Communication was also super easy. The property itself was immaculate with the garden views being the highlight, with the sun out and just the sheep to keep you company, it was the perfect setting. The local area is absolutely stunning and everything we needed was just a short drive. The walks from the property were also lovely, especially through the woods down to the river. Great time here.

The property is a little dark inside but very comfortable. My favourite part of the holiday was eating a beautiful lasagne outside, it was magical. The pastoral scene was bucolic.
4.8
Quiet location with sheep for company reached by narrow road. Great scenery and lots to do in the area.

We stayed in the cottage for 2 1/2 weeks and this became a real home-from-home for us. The cottage is warm and inviting, with everything we needed to live comfortably. The location suited us perfectly - remote countryside setting yet only 10 minutes from the center of Monmouth. Sarah and Dom were great hosts: close at hand were there to have been any problems, but affording us complete privacy. Sarah was marvelous at communicating with us from the very start of the reservation process through check-out. We look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

The Apple Store is ideally situated to visit the Wye Valley area. The property was well equipped and clean. The owners, Dom and Sarah could not have been more helpful and friendly and without being intrusive. Thank you very much for a perfect week!!

Lovely secluded spot overlooking fields of sheep and swallows. Beautiful area to explore, plenty to see and eat then home, to sit in the dappled sun, drifting off to the gentle 'plop' of apples falling at our feet.

Excellent property in very rural and peaceful location.

This was the third time we had stayed at the property. Clean and tidy and well equipped as usual. Good communication by owner.

Spiritual renewal
A great place for spiritual contemplation and renewal. My husband loves listening to music with headphones and this was a great place to do that looking out over the large pastures/hillsides of sheep. Sarah and Dom were great hosts, always on hand if we needed anything. This is a beautiful area and there are many border castles in the area which we visited. Took us a bit to get used to the one-horse road, but we did before too long and made a game of guessing how many vehicles we would encounter on our way up or down. Loved our four weeks here!
