We spent 9 nights at this property, truly our home away from home. This historical estancia has been operated by the same family for 120 years. The owners are welcoming and will make sure to share tips about hikes and other things to do. A couple of hikes can be done right from the estancia. While it is more convenient to have a vehicle, it is possible to walk to town and enjoy great vistas at the same time. Alfredo speaks good English and so does Abril, their charming front desk clerk and restaurant hostess. The restaurant has a limited menu, but the food is excellent. The cold breakfast has a wide variety, including home made cookies and calafate berries on occasions. Rooms do not have wifi, but there is connection in the common areas with comfortable chairs and couches. Daily house keeping is done. There is also an entertaining greeting committee made up of a couple of horses, cows and calves who constantly roam the property to keep that lawn short. This place is like a green oasis in comparison to windy-dusty El Chaltén.
We drank tap water the whole time and no issue.

Overall I liked my staying at this place. The owners and the staff were very nice and friendly. The owner gave me a ride to the town and back several times. The surrounding is pastoral. The beakfasts were good. I liked the selection of jams. The dinners were very good too and the price of the dinners was fair relatively to the overpriced restaurants you find in El Chaltén. The only negative point is the lack of wifi inside the rooms. Eventually I got used to that. I read a book when I stayed at the room instead of endless surfing the internet. The 2nd downside is the remoteness of the place. If you don't have a car like me, you'll need to pay 6,000 pesos for the taxi or I ask the owner if he can give you a ride. I walked few times to the town and back. It's quite a hike, not for everyone.

This is in a lovely setting by the mountains but please be aware that it is REMOTE! It is 2 miles from town on an unlit rocky road. There is not a free shuttle as indicated and it can be very difficult to find a taxi. I would recommend staying here only if you have your own vehicle. Otherwise it is comfortable and peaceful.

Love this place . Staying on the ranch is already a vacation. I can stay at the hotel the whole day. Me and my Bf hang out in their saloon with some comfy chairs and couch and good wi fi . Alfredo is the best host , very kind , hospitable as well as the rest of the staff . Very close to el chalten and even some hiking trail . It feels like home . We already plan to our next trip in El chalten and will stay in this very beautiful place . It’s paradise!!!

Family-owned, this is a working ranch with comfortable, clean, and spacious rooms. The owner is charming and extremely helpful in his knowledge of the entire area. The property is convenient to El Chalten and all the trails, and is much better than staying in the town itself. Breakfast abundant and delicious. Dinners served in the on-site restaurant are also excellent. I couldn't more highly recommend a stay at Estrancia!

Beautiful location. Very peaceful and quiet. Site says free shuttle to town, but it’s the owner who will take you, though there isn’t any structured service.. so you may have to take a Taxi—order it in advance as it may take up to 30 min to arrive since you are in a small town. Breakfast is all right. Some cheese, packaged ham slices, and salami... there was a nice homemade yogurt... rooms are very clean and beautiful. A fun experience feeding the calves milk. They have a lot of good information in the lobby about the weather for the day for when you go hiking. WiFi only in common areas, not rooms. Also the power will go out from midnight or so till 0530 AM

Staff wanted to charge more of us claiming that we could only stay with one person in each room. Then I showed them the reservation that said that we also had booked for a child in each room. Then they said that the maximum age of each cold should be two years old. I disagreed firmly, and showed them the ages of the children in the reservation and also said that I had prepaid the stay. Only then they gave up charging more. Food was not good. Breakfast was served in dirty tables. They did not even took away the dirty plates of prior guests.

Lovely farm style stay in very comfortable estancia and with scenic views of the mountains around El chalten. Alfredo, Patricia and their staff were very friendly hosts and happy to help with trekking advice. Alfredo also provided a morning and afternoon shuttle to the town which is only 3kms away. The estancia itself is very beautiful and has some cows, a horse and a very friendly farm cat, Pantera, that all hang around the accommodation so if you have kids or like animals it's very cool. There is also a restaurant with much of the ingredients coming from the farm itself. Basic dishes but quite good. Staying on an estancia fitted so well with the trekking and scenery which is really the whole point of going to El chalten. If you want bars and backpackers then stay in El chalten but if you want peaceful surroundings then this is the place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The ranch was lovely. I liked that it was a bit away from downtown so that you can relax but the owner provides a ride twice a day.

This family-owned and operated establishment is conveniently located within the park and you can take a cool 'secret' hike into town. Dinner was amazing (the best steak we had in Patagonia). Staying at Estancia La Quinta was an amazing experience. The owner picked me and my friend up from the bus station and provided us multiple rides into and out of town, making our travel so simple. On Day 1, we arrived after the restaurant was closed, yet they kept it open so we could have dinner - and the dinner was one of the best meals I have had. El Chalten is a cute, tiny town in Patagonia and staying at Estancia La Quinta is the perfect way to authentically enjoy the region.
