This guesthouse greatly exceeded my expectations. The sisters were so kind in welcoming me to the house and they even upgraded me from a shared to a single room for free. It was my first time going to an onsen, so they showed me how to put on a yukata properly. They also provided me with the wooden clogs, an obi and an overcoat for winter, a bathing towel and a cute little bag to carry things around during onsen hopping. All of this was completely free of charge. My room was very spacious, heated by aircon, and super quiet, so I had a great night sleep. There was a shared kitchen with free tea and coffee. Kinosaki is very walkable and the location of the guesthouse is right in the middle of the onsen area, on a side street, a short stroll from the train station. The house is exceptionally clean. I cannot recommend this guesthouse highly enough.
Nothing at all.

The owners were exceptionally friendly and they really made me feel at home!
Perhaps I came during the wrong season, the property is too cold without a portable/ground heater.

I loved everything about this property! It was spotless, quiet, the hosts were amazing, and it felt like such a restorative space! I had the best sleep of all of my nights in Japan.
I loved everything!

The experience of staying here has been a highlight of my trip. The hosts are some of the kindest people you will ever meet, and instantly made me feel welcome and cared for. they’re the kind of people you don’t meet too often and I won’t ever forget them.
The guest house itself is well appointed, in a great location, it’s spotless, and it’s comfortable. I slept gorgeously. My only regret is that my stay wasn’t longer.
Do yourself a favour and stay here!
Absolutely nothing!

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable Japanese style room. They gave free rental yukata, geta and bag to walk through the town and visit the onsens.
Nothing- it was excellent!
Because Kinosaki has narrow streets there’s no parking on site.

The place was beautiful and cozy. The owner was very kind and helpful. She welcomed us at our arrival time and showed us the guesthouse and our room. The room was a Japanese style room that was very comfortable.

The staff was super friendly making us feel welcome the second we stepped through the door. Gave us recommendations for the best onsen as well (we only had little time)

The owners were lovely making sure I had everything I needed for my stay. The communal area was clean and cosy. I was given a Yakuta for the onsen and shown how to wear it properly

Mizuho-San and Chihiro-san are sublime hosts. The location is excellent and the vintage Showa atmosphere in that old house is fantastic. We will certainly visit again. ありがとう!
The only point of potential concern was the locking of the gate at 11:30pm. However, all onsen close by 11pm so it was not an issue for us.

Straight upon arrival I felt very welcome by the warm welcome the hosts gave me. The house itself is pretty and super cool to stay in. Moreover, the location is perfect for visiting the onsen, may it be late in the evening or early in the morning.

The sisters were so kind and joyful, really made me feel welcomed. The facilities of the ryokan were very clean and comfortable too, I look forward to coming back to Kinosaki Onsen village to stay at Wakayo! One of my favourite stays in Japan!

Really lovely accommodation with even more lovely hosts. Everything was clean and comfortable. I was in the dorm and had plenty of space. The hosts were so kind and helpful and just so sweet. The location is super convenient for both the station and all the onsen and restaurants. Would 100% recommend and stay again.

A beautiful authentic Japanese guesthouse. Every detail is perfect. And the hosts are superb.

We had the private room for 4 of us, and it was great. Clean, quiet, well equipped. It is nicely renovated, and although it is an old house, it feels clean and updated. The futons and pillows were comfortable. There is a small kitchen to use with some basic dishes, and a toaster, microwave.

Location is very good and is off a quiet street. Great value.
A rather small common area to sit down for a meal. With a capacity of 4 people.

The house is clean, quiet and the host is friendly and helpful. Although she doesn't speak good English, she tried her best to make us feel comfortable during our stay. The location is very close to the bath house, cafes, convenience store. It is about 10 min walk to the ropeway station.
The common shared toilet is outside the room. There is a basin inside the room but without hot water. We have to use the basin outside the room. It was freezing when we leave our room for the toilet and to brush teeth.

Everything - such a delightful place to stay. Thank you so much Mizuho for looking after us so well.
Location is very close to the onsens. We were given a yukata and little bag and clip clop shoes to go to each onsen.
Shared kitchen and all amenities spotless. Highly recommend. will definitely stay next visit to Kinosaki.
Everything was good

Beautiful house and very kind owners. I had the loveliest time here during my trip to Japan. The guesthouse provides comfortable yukata, small lovely Japanese bag, and small towel for guests. I’d love to come back!

It is a traditional style Japanese guesthouse. The rooms have the tatami mat flooring and you sleep on futons on the floor. The sisters are very helpful with suitcase etc. plenty of heat-important in the wintertime.
The 3 toilets are down the halls and shared. Kept spotless and because there are only women, you don’t feel uncomfortable in your pajamas.

Japanese style room, bed, tatami floor, location, space, cleanliness, and staffs
I absolutely loved my stay in kinosaki town and at this guesthouse. The town is very traditional and beautiful with kind people. I loved tajima beef and snow crab. The staffs of this guesthouse are very kind and friendly. Next time, I will come back to stay in kinosaki onsen and at this guesthouse house for more than a night!

Very nice staff. We booked a private room and it was very spacious and comforable.
The only problem is that the check-out time is 10am. We really wish that the check-out time could be later. As we spent the evening until 23:30 visiting onsens, it was not a lot of time for us to go back to our room and sleep peacefully before having to check-out. If check-out was 11 am, we would give this a perfect rating!
4.5
I loved that the property catered to women, especially solo travelers! In towns with an abundance of Ryokans, it’s extremely difficult to find affordable accommodations for one person.
The guesthouse is clean and well kept. Yukatas, geta sandals, and Onsen purse are provided. You have all you need for a self sufficient getaway in this amazing Onsen town.
The hosts were spectacular and while they didn’t speak the best English, the most important aspects were communicated well.
If I come to Kinosaki Onsen again, on a solo trip, I will absolutely stay here again!
No complaints whatsoever.
