Great location
Rooms in the back of hotel hear a lot of noise. They are right on top of the employee entrance and the delivery entrance. Employees kept us up late at night and delivery and garbage trucks woke us up at 5am.

Great location, great restaurant, lovely room and view.
9.0
The British atmosphere and the amazing view from the bedroom, the lovely old historic building, the restaurant, the perfect location.
Missing coffee machine in the bedroom and missing dressing gowns
The phonic isolation and the old windows

Great location for everything Carmel has to offer
I loved the property.. because it is an older hotel… things are not “pristine”

Wonderful location with a fabulous restaurant
The staff is first rate

great location
poor access. small and cluttered rooms

I loved the traditional feel to the place - quality! Small room but high ceiling with crown moulding, beveled mirrors, plantation blinds, lovely bedding and well appointed. I was with a group attending a wedding and I had the opportunity to view a number of rooms, so appreciated the ascetics of the entire property.
You can't beat the location but the parking was minimal. We relied on outside transportation so we would not lose our parking places in the lot provided.

great location
room could have been a little bigger but great value for being in downtown Carmel

Location
room was too old, narrow staircase to take luggage and no lift

Margarita the front desk attendant was great!

great location
Dated, dirty bathroom, thin walls (you hear everything in the adjacent rooms and on the hallways), staff’s friendliness was hit or miss, no coffee machine in room or in lobby (in fact several signs in lobby tell you not to drink or eat in lobby - very welcoming!), occasional parking available. This is not a hotel but a fancy hostel. Absolutely not worth the price.

excellent location and architecture.
1. Room didn't have a microwave.
2. Bathroom didn't have an exhaust leading to foul odor.

Perfect Location in the main area of Carmel! Beautiful property with a nice restaurant and bar on site.
Not necessarily a negative response but just be aware that if you are arriving to the property late, the car park will most likely be full and parking in Carmel in general is very tricky. Still it is a major positive that the property has a private carpark so just ensure that you are able to benefit!

Cute room, nice hotel, great location
Staff aren’t very accommodating, although they are nice about not being very accommodating

first night our room had a leak in the roof the moved us to a room that was the only part of the hotel that the power went out. then they take a night charge off and then re apply it later and won’t work with me on a refund. terrible place! don’t do it
service and basic functions of a hotel didn’t work.
2.0
location, history of hotel
bed bugs- ruined our stay and caused us to dry clean and sanitize all of our stuff when we left. Hotel did not offer to compensate or seem at all surprised
7.0
The location is excellent, right in the middle of town and also close to the beach.
The interior decoration of the place was in general pleasant, in keeping with classic resort inn styles. The entirely red lobby does pop.
Our bath tub looked worn, and there was quite a lot of noise from the street late in the evening when the restaurant in the same building closed, disposing bottles.
Also, there was no elevator, and the corridors are narrow, which made it a bit tricky to carry luggage to our room on the second floor.
Car parking is included, but the number of spots are limited, which is inconvenient. Street parking is also limited, and zoned.
