Nice and quiet. We love to come here with our dogs for Fourth of July because it’s nice and peaceful.

The bed was pretty good as it was firm. The tv was fine with a large menu.
My wife and I just completed a 2-day stay at the Carmel Resort Inn in Carmel, Ca from July 29-31
I reviewed places on Booking.com for accommodations and chose the CRI. The customer reviews on booking.com were pretty good.
We were quite surprised how basic the place was, the floors were quite cold, the bathroom extremely small, the entry into the bathroom was raised and presented a potentially dangerous path in the dark at night. On the plus side the tv worked and the bed was firm. We heard a little noise before we realized there was another cottage attached.
The reviews on Booking.com were quite good for this Inn. After returning home, I was disappointed enough that I checked reviews on some other websites like Yelp. The Yelp reviews and other websites showed a mixed number of reviews with more poor than good. This is more what I would expect after our experience.
The reviews on Booking.com didn't show the range of reviews and the preponderance of good reviews led me to book the place. The reviews being listed on Booking.com are very biased and don't represent the mix I found on other web sites.
We've used Booking.com in the past and been more satisfied with those reviews and ratings.

Resort was among the homes so it was very quiet. Close to restaurants and beach.

Individual cottages, separate, quite, easy parking, away from hassle of down town but close enough for easy commute. Value for accommodations was excellent compared to others in the area.
Auto needed to commute for supplies.
Hilly area makes walking a challenge.

It had everything I needed. It was at a good location.
Parking is a little bit tight

the quiet neighborhood and location, easy to get back on highway 1
the room could've used updates, new paint, nicer linens, a love seat, a real coffee maker, a tea kettle, a dresser

Being cabins, you didn't have people walking above your head. I loved the recliner in the room.
Noisy water heater and fridge. No hot water for the first couple of days, but they did get it fixed. The outside trash cans were overflowing. The pet fee was $30 a day plus tax. I've NEVER been charged that much. The average has been $10.

I had stayed here 7 years ago and even though the rooms were dated, the staff was very polite, welcoming, accommodating and offered breakfast baskets. Now, the rooms have been remodeled, but the staff wasn’t very welcoming. No breakfast was offered and there was no housekeeping unless you specifically asked for it. The price was the same as others that we have stayed at, but at least at other hotels, the staff is super friendly and we’ve become friends throughout the years. I’m not sure why it changed so much but with the right attitude, the staff can turn this around to make it a better stay for guests.
The state guidance for COVID ended this year, but the staff still doesn’t automatically offer to clean rooms (at least to take trash out). So it wasn’t very comfortable and it just seemed like they were being too frugal with their service. However, the cottages are as expensive as others who do offer this.

The room is lovely, with a comfortable bed, the car is parked right in front of the room, very convenient
room smells musty and The shower water was too small and we couldn’t take a shower. When we went to the front desk to ask, the staff had already left work, so we couldn’t take a shower. We didn’t know there was a water-saving button on the shower until the staff went to work the next morning to respond to the situation. The water flow is normal only when you press it down, but by the time we figured it out, it was time to check out. Why not post instructions in the bathroom or let us know when you check in?

Great location
The location is great and the cottages could be very cute —but they are rundown and decorated horribly. It’s like they went to Goodwill and picked out all the mismatch furniture that nobody else wanted to put in their cottage. The bathroom felt like it was a motel six. We paid far too much to stay in that type of accommodation. the outside of the building was rotting away and needed painting very badly. I noticed some of the other cottages were in better shape. Maybe it’s under new ownership however, they need to put some money (probably 25,000 per cottage )to bring it up to the standards of a Carmel hotel.

It was torture! Room Number 16 - all night something was dripping and gurgling, something with the plumbing, it was impossible to sleep.
Never stay in this hotel.

This property is in Carmel and is very affordable. The bed was comfortable and the room was reasonably sized. The wifi worked. It was nice not to have anyone over top of us in our room. They are dog friendly for a reasonable rate.
The walls were extremely thin and the parking situation was daunting. All of the spots are parallel and oddly stacked in. If the hotel was full, it could be difficult to get in or out of your spot. Rooms were not exactly stylish if that's important to you (it wasn't to us).
