Charming inn with perfect location for a weekend stay

The location was perfect, tucked away from the tourists crowd but within walking distance from everything. We like the shared courtyard patio and the charming 1950s California style.

The room 23 they put us had no window, it was on the ground floor located at a small courtyard where quite a few folks come and go in front of our room. It felt like we had little privacy. Also their walls were pretty thin so you can hear the next door's neighbor's conversation.

Not great considering the price we paid.

The plants and greenery were very nice.

The room seemed really old and it made me feel like it was dingy and not clean even if it was. The price we paid definitely was not worth it, considering it was almost $300 a night.

Perfect option for families in Carmel

The room is amazingly prepared for a family with kids. Comfy beds, two bathrooms, a fireplace, a sofa, two TVs, coffee machine, nothing was missing. I was very impressed and my kids felt at home.

The fact that the parking lot can only take 5 cars. I had to park in the street, but the city is so calm and safe that you really feel comfortable in letting your car there. It is also free parking until 10 am.

Too expensive for what you get

The beds were comfy, room very dated, but clean. We stayed there mostly because of the location. Fireplace is a nice touch but it doesn’t give much warmth.

It was very cold in the room when we arrived and the heater barely worked. We had to keep the windows closed because one of them was facing the street and another one - hotels parking lot. Overall the property is very dated and doesn’t justify the price. Some people were upset due to the lack of breakfast - I was glad it wasn’t provided, I better get it elsewhere.

We really enjoyed the quaint ambiance and the nice big room! We even had a small view of the ocean.

Great location to downtown. Nice big room with a fireplace. Very cozy place. Inga, the person who checked us in, was great! Very helpful!

Exterior could use a little work. In the room it was hard to get it warmed up. We ran the fireplace the whole time.

We continue to come to this Inn. A nice tradition at Thanksgiving time.

The room was lovely- especially the fireplace and instant gas fire!

Room was very tight. Reception employee wasn´t able to return the payment Carmel Fireplace Inn took unduly from my debit card. U$212,08 for a night stay, too expensive.

Well located no-frills traditional motel style accommodation in the heart of Carmel

The hotel was really well positioned for exploring Carmel and having the car park and free nearby roadside parking was an added bonus. Across our 3 day stay we always got a space. The bedroom was really spacious.

The rooms were really dated and looked a little tired and the bathroom would benefit from some shelves for putting out your own toiletries and make up etc.

Great location to town.

Room was a great size.Location to town was excellent. Good to have a car park, would advise getting there early to get a spot but also plenty of street parking.

Bathroom and facilities were dated. No breakfast.

Most comfortable hotel bed I ever experienced.

this property had the most comfortable bed I have ever had in a hotel room. the room was clean but not smelly with perfume. the staff was wonderful and inviting. Close to everything in Carmel. Only used our care once.

I would probably return. It was a restful, rather picturesque environment cozy, and comfortable .

The room # 38 was lovely, clean, spacious, with a wonderful gas fireplace that added ambience.

Was there ever food provided? I noticed a microwave in the lobby. That would have been a nice addition. The first check in staff person was not very friendly, just perfunctory and not very welcoming. The second person was much friendlier in the evening and told us where to get ice cream. I know it is Carmel, but the price ($240 including tax) is steep for just a simple room, and this is your cheaper rate.

Very nice room, in good condition, very clean, good beds, everything in walking distance. Very nice property.

A little bit dark in the room, shower pressure a bit low and sometimes it took literally several minutes before we got hot water. No kettle in room. There is a microwave at the lobby, but there is nobody before 9 in the morning.

Neighbors upstairs and in front unit were extremely loud. Neighbors upstairs were constantly pounding, running around,

Our cottage was nice. It was a bit outdated. The amenities including the fridge, coffee maker, microwave, dish washer and clothes washer and dryer were old and run down. The clothes was didn’t clean clothes well. The tv in the bedroom was incredibly small. Neither TV allowed for streaming. The fireplace barely worked. The unit was very cold all of the time.The was one extra blanket given. No sheets and blankets for pull-our bed. The bathrooms except for the shower, weren’t very nice. We enjoyed the patio. The main bed was large. Closet space was minimal. Parking was difficult. Very narrow area.

Guests in other units weren’t considerate nor were they held accountable to property to rules and expectations.

Fun Old Style Carmel, Good Value, Walking distance to everything

Quaint Old Style Carmel Hotel. Comfortable good size room and seating area. Wonderfully close to downtown. We parked and walked everywhere.

The parking lot is super small. The grounds are showing their age.

Good stay in great downtown location

This hotel is in a great location. Right down town and walkable to everything. We have stayed in a few hotels in the area and they can be very expensive. The price was good for Carmel and the hotel room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The lady named Inge, at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is a little rundown with older furnishings, if that matters to you. The bathroom is small and lacks good lighting for makeup. Only a street view from our room, but I could see others may have a peek at the ocean view.

Great location if you don’t plan to sleep in.

We loved the location, and the check in process was quick and easy.

Cleaning crew starts early, and you can hear everything. It was 8am, and it sounded like there was a rodeo going on upstairs and around our room.
