Cute lobby. Quaint room. Cute terrace. Plenty beverages. Capacious bathroom.
Dearth of parking. Great deal unnecessary tchotchkes cluttering limited surfaces better left free for guest’s things. Never got the cookies that reception said they would bring to our room.

The Happy Hour. Availability of bicycles. Slippers. Complimentary breakfast (factored into price). Bottled water in room. Cleanliness of property. Proximity to walking downtown Carmel. Complimentary Parking on-site.
Loudness from sidewalk right outside our window did not make us feel safe enough to open it for fresh air. Tip request forms for Complimentary items. Need to pay to keep in-room shopping bag/potential momentous.

Cozy, beautiful rooms in perfect location. Breakfast had limited choice, but was of good quality.
First night we had rooms downstairs near the stairs, and were kept up late at night and again woken at 5 am by noisy neighbors. The floors/ceiling are super thin and we heard every step. We cha ged rooms upstairs and away from the stairs which solved this issue.
The rooms have very little storage for luggage.
Showers in all four rooms were a more drizzle.

Room was comfortable and clean, nice decor
Breakfast could have been slightly more varied
4.2
Newly renovated, everything was very clean.
Thin walls means you can hear everything, no closets make it difficult to hang a lot of clothes on the two hooks, very low water pressure and cheap toilet paper.

Location was great and private parking
Staff were not at all helpful. When checking in were told to scan the code on card cover for the key and it would give us all the information we need. It didn’t and we missed two “happenings” (social event). When we asked what was happening, we were told we had misses it (by 2 minutes) didn’t care we were not informed of anything.
Breakfast was nice, when we asked for decaf coffee we were told they didn’t have any but they had tea and offered us earl grey, which is caffeinated. Asked for a glass of water and were told we would have to buy it.

Clean. Good location.
Not enough parking for guests and It’s first come first serve. Arrived at 3:30 pm/checkin time. Had to find parking outside on the street which was about a 5 minute walk. For this price, I would have expected guaranteed parking for guests.

Amenities! The welcome drinks, complimentary breakfast, free bike rentals, and cookie service. The location is also prime.
The water pressure in our shower was super low. The wifi also did not work.

Loved the gourmet continental breakfast with fresh baked pastries and tea! Also the linens and beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is incredibly charming and full of interesting touches!

An amazing property. They did a very good job remodeling an old motel. So many neat details and touches. The staff was great. My overall stay was so relaxing and pleasant

The decor was lovely and the attention to detail was fantastic. The staff and location were top notch.
I was there on a Saturday during the summer, so I knew the price would reflect that, but it was a little steep.

Amazing attention to detail with the French accents and decor!!! The French Pastries that were awaiting our arrival were a perfect welcome and absolutely darling!! The crisp, embroidered sheets and the finely crafted bed frame and headboard with the beautiful tapestry-like fabric that matched the lovely valances!! The tea set in the rooms and the lovely breakfast offerings and its presentation were priceless. The charming Mimosas were a delight to the palette. I loved seeing the darling bicycles on-site!

Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
By the 4th morning, I was hoping for an alternative breakfast option.
The wine tasting at 5 was lovely.
Coffee Tea amd Atwater always available was great too.

Central location
1. Pet fee was $121 - more than all the hotels we used on our trip the fee was either $0 or 20-30 usd
2. Hotel looks like a cheap motel. Parking area was condensed and rooms opened to the parking lot. People had chairs and tables outside our room and literally sitting on our window which was in the first floor. No privacy and very noisy.
3. Living Room was tiny and the space was mainly with the bathroom
4. Breakfast was cold hard boiled eggs, pastries and coffee and orange juice.
5. Staff were cold and not welcoming. They did not care I was checking in or out. Just looking on there computer screen.

The bed and linens were comfortable and the small table in the room was convenient. Happy hour is a nice touch.
If you're going to open the lobby at 7:00am you need coffee pots in the rooms since the town doesn't open up till 7:00 as well. The windows are single pane and it's very noisy beginning in the early morning around 5:00am. The windows do not lock making it very easy for someone to take things off the tables.
Some sort of dresser would be nice. A safe can be put in a closet and a refrigerator can be put in a corner. No real dresser space is a terrible idea. Convenient electrical outlets on both sides of the bed would be a nice addition.
A larger shelf in the bathroom would be nicer when two people are in a room.

Great location, friendly staff, clean and modern, breakfast delivered to the door, in room remote controlled fireplace for a cozy atmosphere, good water pressure, amenities provided, mini fridge available, would stay again and recommend to friends
Depending on room allocation guests might have traffic noise from the street - ok for me, but could be an issue for light sleepers

nothing
We turned up at 11:30 to check in and we were told there was a power cut (not their fault so we were fine with that). They said come back again at the 3:30pm check-in time. We went out for the day and returned at the check-in time and we were told there was still a power cut and we would have to move. Again, not their fault so no blame passed to them for that.
After this however, they were just consistently unhelpful. They told us to take our cases and go and try their sister property down the road. We pushed back and asked for a number and then asked if they would contact for us. They agreed and it turned out there was no space in that property (this would have been extremely frustrating if we had turned up there with our cases). We had no internet and obviously their WiFi was down and they weren’t helping. Luckily our US friends then arrived and were able to help finding a new hotel but again, what would we have done if not?? The hotel managed to offer us 20% off this other hotel so I will give them credit for that (though we still had to pay over $100 more even after the discount) but their help in organising alternative accommodation was very poor. They seemed to have the attitude of just wanting to get rid of us so the problem would go away for them.
Most frustrating though was that after this, they said they would refund us. 3 weeks later I received nothing and when messaging them through booking.com they just said it has nothing to do with them and that I should speak to booking.com. I tried to get answers from booking.com and struggled so called them and it turns out the hotel didn’t follow the protocol for cancelling and so the money was not showing as returned to go back to me. Overall, considering an issue of theirs caused such inconvenience for us, it’s shocking how unhelpful the hotel were in resolving this. Very poor service and I strongly recommend you avoid for this reason - I’m just glad ultimately that we didn’t end up staying there!

Rooms are clean and bed was comfortable
central location
car park is literally on the room doorstep which makes for a LOT of noise. $650 a night for what is effectively a motel is ridiculous..but I guess that’s Carmel..
Worse - when I requested a move to second floor due to the noise I was told I would have to pay even more….

spacious room
rooms at ground floor are gloomy.

Great location and close walking distance to a lot of shops, restaurants and the beach
Nice, friendly and helpful staff
Coffee and wine in the lobby is a nice touch
The room seemed it needed some maintenance. Scrapes in the walls, a piece of metal dividing bathroom from the room sticking up and I tripped over it. The shower- the water pressure was so low. The room was fine but for the price I was expecting something a little nicer.
