Room was unique and nice. Quiet. Very comfortable bed. Strong WiFi. Close to Max station. Obviously close to the airport.
Pool was too cold.

I have stayed in several Alofts and generally find them to be considerably nicer than other hotel chains. I was surprised at how old and run down the room was.

I enjoyed the room and area it is located. Also that they had airport transportation since I needed that for an early flight. Made it easy and convenient for me without dealing with any hassles.

The bed was comfortable. The roller shades blocked enough light to sleep very well.
Some parts of the room looked "tired". Think trim, caulking, edges of the carpeting. The shower controls were loose and came off in my hand.

Airport shuttle was a plus... decor and rooms were clean, location perfect with many great shops nearby.
To have stayed at least a day or two longer... and the lobby ran out of coffee.

This is a nice, quiet, and clean hotel operated by Marriot Bonvoy just outside of the Portland Airport and is frequented by airline personnel. Planes fly directly overhead as they come in for landing, however, it's barely noticeable when in the room. The room itself is a good size for 2 queen beds, a desk area, and a properly sized flatscreen TV for the space. TV bonus is you can use your Netflix and other streaming service logins free of charge so you're not stuck with basic cable or have to pay to watch movies. Shower (no tub) is outfitted with full size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispensers filled by housekeeping as needed. AC works well and keeps room cool. Beds and bedding were clean and in good condition. Mattresses were on the firm side, but not uncomfortably so. Free coffee/tea setup in the room with the usual options. There is free Wi-Fi available throughout the property, but since I didn't need it, I am unsure of the reliability of signal strength. Hotel lobby has a bar open during the evening hours along with a small cafe area for all-day fare. Multiple restaurant and shopping options are within walking distance (Target, Ikea, Best Buy, Ross, Wendys, Chipotle, Red Robin, etc.). Free shuttle service to/from PDX is always a plus and is available 24/7.
Shower stall is on the smaller side and water pressure is lacking. Sink water pressure was too much, especially for the type of sink installed. Toilet paper roll holder needs to be faced in opposite direction so the roll doesn't go jumping off and rolling away from you. While not important to me, there is no dresser or closed closet. Bathroom area has an open closet for a handful of hanging items and open shelves for storage of other things. No room service available.

always a great place with great amenities!
honestly, it was awesome; so to nit pick, there were no “ice” signs, had to wander, lol. so. that is the tiniest, thing. everything was great!

I like the amenities & that the pool stays open late
I did not like the staff. Very rude. Had a incident with another guest and i feel i was treated unfairly due to my race i was sitting at the bar at least 20 minutes before the other guest came to order food. I had order food to my room. me, my fiancé & two children went swimming we came to get a drink talked with another couple i tipped the waitress, then another guest came to sit down & all kinds of
chaos started. I feel as though I was treated unfairly and that the bartender chose sides. I was not out of control, she immediately said i was becoming aggressive & needed to calm down. I would love to speak with management, Ive worked in hospitality as a front desk clerk & and housekeeper. I would never treat a guest like that, or make a guest feel inadequate.

The location, near shopping, is great. The parking lot robot was fun.
The entire experience, start to finish was terrible. They charged for parking. Probably to pay for the parking robot. The check in host was “friendly” but really not helpful. She said we hadn’t paid for breakfast and said, “many people make that mistake when booking”. I looked back at my reservation, confirmed we had paid for breakfast and she had to call her manager to get an ok. No apology. And then- came down for breakfast and their cook didn’t show up. They pointed to the IHOP next door and said to contact Booking.com to get a $30 refund for the breakfast they couldn’t provide.
Terrible weird expensive hotel. They are trying a new model for guests, trying to be innovative and trendy, but in doing so, failed to be hospitable and comfortable.

Great location with stores and restaurants across the street. Safe and quiet location as well.
I wish the bathroom in the room had a little more lighting than what it had. just seemed a little dim but other than that is was great!

Location, wasn't able to take advantage of breakfast because of early flight

I stayed at the Portland Aloft last year and decided to stay this year also. Receptionist Heidi and Taylor were very friendly and informed me of all amenities.
This year, however, I was informed there was a $12 parking fee for overnight customers. In the big scheme of things $12 doesn't seem like much but after paying $184 for a room it rubbed me the wrong way.

Very cozy, great location
Pay to park makes no sense

Clean, well maintained. They left us a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Very nice touch. Very appreciated.
As with most hotels, the mattress. But, in all fairness, it was better than most hotel mattresses we've experienced.
