There is a reason the Gatlinburg Inn has stayed in business for over eighty years. The hotel is charming and reflective of its historic past. With an amazing location, friendly and helpful staff, clean amenities, delicious breakfast, and comfortable facilities, we will be coming back!

We
Just checked out yesterday. My friend and I visited for our annual girls trip. We couldn’t have been more pleased with this motel. The location is perfect! Close to everything! And the shuttle line if you need it. The welcoming ambiance and home like feel was of the motel is so inviting. Every single employee we encountered was focused on us and making sure our stay was comfortable. They didn’t simply walk by and say, hi! They always said hello and asked “can I help you with anything”, while simultaneously stepping in to assist. Our room was just perfect with the balcony that allowed us to relax and still see what was going on around us. The beds were so comfy too. And the daily breakfast served is amazing! Love the bacon! This was our first stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. It was absolutely perfect and I highly recommend.
We jokingly told the front desk the lace was a 5 star in our book. However, a nice soup bean and cornbread dinner would be the cherry on top.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the center of the strip and within walking distance to the entrance of the Smokies.
Breakfast was just fine, including the area and the food.
Bathrooms are small but fine, nicely updated.
I appreciate the historic status of the hotel. In fact, that's why I was interested in staying there. However, there's a lot more that could be done here that wouldn't affect the historic status. The musty/old smell upon walking into the property and in the rooms should be addressed. We used 2 rooms for our family stay, and we felt the same about both rooms: I understand the wood paneling and some of the built-in wooden ledges have to stay, though not to my liking. This makes the rooms quite dreary and gloomy. But, above all, the carpeting in the rooms is old and filthy. I (none of us!) didn't dare to walk on the carpeting in bare feet. The drapes are also old and filthy. The "lock" on the balcony doors also need to be updated, quite antiquated with a bar going across. But, really, the carpeting issue was the worst I've experienced in a long time, and have to say it made me (all of us!) feel quite uncomfortable for the entire stay.

It was very unique in the middle of tourist attractions. When you entered the doors you felt a different vibe like you stepped back in time. You felt like you were with the people who framed the wall. We loved the rocking chairs, the sitting areas, the squeaky floors, to the old hooks on the back of the door. The shower was great!!
The negative was the mattress. They new mattresses. It sunk where people previously slept.

The location is perfect for the full Gatlinburg experience. You are within walking distance of everything centrally located on the main Gatlinburg strip. This is very convenient considering parking costs $20 at most of publically available lots. The Inn opened in 1937, it has been modernized but basically looks like it has been around forever. Some people prefer sleek and modern if that is you, you probably should stay somewhere else. My wife and I loved it and will be back again next year.
There is nothing I didn't like.

We loved the location
The staff could have been a little nicer. The older women were very nice but the younger staff could have been more nice. The people staying in room above us were so loud throughout the night. It sounded like they were moving furniture around all night

Good service. Great homemade breakfast. Convenient location in downtown Gatlinburg.
No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms. A bit too pricey for what you get.
4.3
Not much.
Everything. It smelled awful. No room in bathroom to put anything. The price of the room was way too much considering rhe quality of the room.

The breakfast was amazing!

We loved the breakfast and the staff was very kind. The location was great for us we walked everywhere!
We did not like the bed it was quite hard and there were a few hairs in the sheets.

Breakfast was very good
Needs update in facilities such like carpeting heading

Even though it was an older hotel, it was quaint with a rustic charm. The staff was amazing as well as the breakfast every morning, probably the best meal we ate daily. The location was great, right on the strip. I would definitely stay here again.
My only complaint was the bathroom. It was nicely done, just a bit small. Our room did have a vanity, which helped. But that wouldn't hinder my thoughts on staying again.

The location was great!! Parking there was relatively difficult due to the small size of the parking lot and location- getting to the hotel took forever but that was to be expected
No amenities- microwave, fridge.

We wanted to try this establishment because my parents always stayed and bragged about it and how much they loved it. The history of the place was fascinating. The location was accessible to everything.
We didn’t like the loud music playing from the Gatlinburg Mysterious Mansion. It was hard to sleep most nights.
4.3
Location is perfect, close to everything. Staff as friendly as any I've ever seen. In and out access. Never got in car for 4 days, no need.... breakfast was great. Live music on porch we caught a couple times. Could not ask for more. 100% satisfied!!!
0 issues for us!!!
