Location of stores and the activities on grounds
There was no microwave
5.0
location to colonial williamsburg, cleanliness and size of room, parking on site, use of pools associated with Williamsburg Inn and grounds and restaurants
the view wasn't that great. Would have preferred to be on upper vs. lower floor

What breakfast??? Not even a microwave in the room
Unaware that there was only a small refrig that did not hold very much with. Very small coffee maker. No microwave.
None of the conveniences that other high quality hotels offer

the grounds surrounding the hotel were
really pretty.
Sadly, the room was very dated. The funiture was Mix matched and just old, and beat up. The carpet had stains as did the sofa. there was dust on the molding. The room needs a fresh coat of paint. However, the worst was seeing in the Corner of the platform bed a grouping of dust and dirt where the mattress laid. I was disappointed in the lack of care considering this is a sister property of the Williamsburg Inn. I paid over $300.00 for this room for one night. unless they updated this place I will not be staying at the Griffin again.

It was fine and suitable for our needs.
There was a smell in the room which was like a dog had been there. I don’t like dogs and the Igor was off putting. I think they should keep rooms separate for animal lovers to avoid this.

Love the location, the rooms all had balcony’s and beautiful grounds and facilities to walk around! Large rooms are Ideal for larger families like mine who often have to book two rooms. Great price for location leaving $ for all the activities nearby.
A little old

The room was huge! The location of the hotel was perfect, so close to historic Williamsburg. Daily room service was great. Check in was a breeze.
The room could use some updating. The pull out couch needs to be updated. The cushions were old and the mattress was sagging into the wire of the couch.

Great location - easy walk to visit all the Colonial Williamsburg attractions.
Everything was very good - nothing to dislike!

Great location in Colonial Williamsburg, very spacious with good facilities, parking adjacent,
Elevator to second floor would assist access - will request ground floor room on next visit in advance.

The only thing I liked was that the Griffin was at the same venue as the wedding we attended.
From start to finish (two day stay), the room reeked of acrid wood smoke, which irritated our eyes and throats. The room had a fireplace, which had been cleaned, but I am guessing that the chimney was not clean. The day we were leaving, a housekeeper told my wife that others had complained of the smoke odor too. When I tried to call the front desk about the issue after we arrived, the phone was out of order or busy. We didn't have time to follow up to ask for another room during our short stay. Other issues: A dark room with poor lighting. One lamp had no switch and you had to get down on the floor to pull the plug on the baseboard to turn out the light. HVAC had only 4 degree sensitivity, so hard to adjust. No bedside table on one side. Clock with wrong time couldn’t be reset by guests. Keys didn’t work, had to go back to get new ones. Rickety luggage cart. Heavy entry door to bldg, hard to get cart in and out. Worst room I've stayed in in many years.

Location was good.
Booked a room with a view and did not get it. They said it was not represented correctly on booking booking.com. Girl was not very accommodating, and had an attitude about renting rooms by 3rd party. This really set out our trip on a sour note. The door to the adjoining room was not locked, and had to wait about 1 1/2 hrs to have it locked. We only spent 1 1/2 days there. Their was no desk in the building you were in, it was at building on another property. Building could use updating. No Breakfast, and spent a lot on the room. Really wish I had chosen another hotel. Restaurant was expensive.

The hotel is a sister property to the Williamsburg Inn, and in a central location to all of the Williamsburg attractions. Our room was quite large, very comfortable and clean; perfect four our family of four. 10/10 would return.

Excellent location. Everything was within walking distance.
It was a little confusing how to check-in. Once we understood that process, it made sense. The website should have mentioned to check into the Inn.

Great location, right in Colonial Williamsburg. Huge room with sliding doors to private large wooded area. Able to bring dog. Other than check in at a different facility, we did not see any staff at this hotel.
No Staff on sight. Very dated decor.

room was very outdated , dark and dingy

The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I loved the grounds to the property. It was well maintained and the pond and fountain were lovely.
Hotel dated, a bit run down. Faucet on both sinks leaked. I really am no fan of having a room with just a door between it and the next guest room. It made for a noisy evening from just casual talking in our neighbor’s room. They weren’t being loud, just normal volume. For $380/night I expected a nicer room.

Didn’t have breakfast.
