About this cottage rental
Stone Green Oast is a beautiful square kiln oast converted to comfortable holiday accommodation. This is an "upside-down" house: steps lead up to the main entrance upstairs where there is an airy open-plan sitting and dining room and a separate well-equipped kitchen. An open spiral staircase leads downstairs to the bathroom and bedrooms (1 double and one twin). The master bedroom has french doors which lead up a short flight of steps to the pretty enclosed garden.
Outside there is good quality garden furniture, a barbeque and secure storage for bikes. 2 adult bikes are available for use by guests. The garden is fully enclosed and we can accommodate up to two quiet, well-behaved dogs. The property is situated on the Saxon Shore Way, in a quiet hamlet, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 3/4 mile from the nearest public house.
The nearest shop is 2 miles away in Appledore and the Cinque Port market town of Tenterden is 7 miles. The ancient town of Rye, with its wide range of restaurants, pubs and live music, is 5 miles away. The property is ideally situated to explore the wide variety of activities that Kent and Sussex coast offer: the beautiful beaches at Camber and Rye Harbour are great for children and for walking the dogs. Canterbury, with its mediaeval cathedral and excellent shopping, is only an hour away by car. Hastings, with its old town and ancient fishing museum is about 45 minutes by car.
The oast is well placed for visiting local gardens such as Great Dixter, Sissinghurst, Leeds Castle as well as English vineyards: Chapeldown, Gusbourne and Hush Heath.
Ashford Designer Shopping Outlet is 30 minutes by car. The high speed train from nearby Ashford International takes you to London in only 35 minutes.
We are next door if you need any extra assistance during your stay.

We hat a wonderful time in the oust. The house was immaculately clean. On our arrival we were welcomed by homemade bread and cake - yummy. The house has a nice garden with a terrace to sit on and two loungers - unfortunately not enough sun to really use it. The contact to our host Amanda was nice, we felt very welcomed.

This is our second stay at Stone Green Oast, and it was just as nice this time as it was six years ago. The oast itself is a neat building, very comfortable inside, with everything one could want. Immaculately kept, everything works, beautiful view of the gardens, pleasant outside seating. Amanda and Andrew are perfect hosts, making us feel very welcome, and were always available in case of need. We hope to be able to return again soon.

I would highly recommend a stay in this converted Oast. My partner, our dogs and I had a lovely time. Such a nice part of Kent, we didn't want to leave! Amanda's thoughtful touches made it even more special- we had homemade bread, red currant jelly and a cake for my partners birthday along with butter and milk. The oast was clean and tidy and there were some pretty walks around the area.

This converted Oast House is absolutely perfect! It has been beautifully converted, is very tastefully decorated, immaculately clean, and has absolutely everything you need for a holiday cottage. As others have said, it is the best, most comfortable place I have stayed in, it really is wonderful. A great deal of care and thought appears to have been put into making this just a lovely place to stay and with the fenced garden, very dog friendly as well. The surrounding countryside is lovely, and interesting places to visit nearby. We definitely want to visit again, and would thoroughly recommend.

Beautiful oast house, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Made to feel very welcome with some essential items left for us by the owners (milk, bread, butter etc).
I would highly recommend staying here

Perfect as long as you are able bodied to manage the spiral staircase

We had a lovely stay at the oast. The property was very clean with everything needed for a few days stay. The location is great for Camber, Rye and we did some nice walks. Unfortunately we encountered the water being cut off due to a burst water main but that was out of their control. We both slipped on the spiral staircase despite their being strips to prevent this on the bottom steps so beware of this when going down the stairs. Otherwise if was a nice break.

A shorter than expected stay, but good communication with the owner ensured we were all fully informed. The Oast is very well furnished with careful thought clearly given to design and creating a homely atmosphere. The location is well placed for access to Rye and various gardens, eg Great Dixter and Sissinghurst as well as Dungerness and further East along the coast.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this lovely old Oast house, with our dog Lottie ! The accomdation was immaculate throughout, cleverly designed and converted and extremely well equipped. On arrival there was a welcoming array of home made cake, jam and bread alongside fresh milk, butter and locally made drinks in the fridge. The good sized garden was beautiful and safely enclosed for our dog. There were plenty of walks on the doorstep , and we found nearby Rye Harbour nature reserve a lovely place for a great day out for all of us. Amanda and Andrew were great hosts who were there for advice and made us feel very welcome.

Agree also that it was pet friendly with bowl treats lead all provided, garden is secure for our dog.

Where should I start?
The Oast is really a great cottage to spend a holiday. A great enclosed garden, also great for small dogs who like to go for a walk. The Oast is very special, with a very nice interior, and everything around is well maintained and clean.
The welcome and interaction with Amanda and her husband was very warm. On arrival there was bread, cake, jam, butter and and in the kitchen.
Simply great.
Just a very nice holiday, always again.

A lovely cottage cleverly converted from an oast house and very tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed inside and outside. We enjoyed walking and cycling directly from the house and a short drive to visit several National Trust houses, gardens and castles .

We enjoyed everything about Stone Green Oast. The house itself is very comfortable bright and with many modern touches. It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack was indeed generous . A lot of thought has gone into providing those extra touches which make you feel instantly at home.
All in all a great place to hang out. Highly recommended

Just lovely...
Amazing weekend in this lovely Oast, spotlessly clean & the cake, bread, ciders etc...were much appreciated & delicious. Such a lovely place we didn't feel the need to go out too much! Great hosts who were there if we needed them but not intrusive. Would love to come back again, hopefully the weather will be kinder so we can make more use of the garden, being enclosed it was ideal for Benny, our terrier. Great stay, thank you.

Wonderful stay in a charming Oast House!
This was the best and most well equipped holiday rental we have experienced! The property itself was charming with a lovely garden in a nice village with many interesting places to visit nearby.
The owner provided a very generous welcome pack including home baked bread and cake, and was more than helpful with suggestions of places to eat/visit etc.
Wonderful to find such a nice holiday home that was pet friendly too….we will return!

What a stunning find! Amanda Button, the owner of this delightful converted oast house has an eye for beauty, quality and detail - and it shows in every room! Our stay was far too brief, but enough to enjoy the comfort and thoughtful touches which abounded in this cottage - from the generous Welcome hamper which included a freshly baked cake - still warm from the oven - to cupboards stocked not just with the basics you'd expect in a holiday let, but so much more; to soft throws on the sofa and fresh flowers on the table. Amanda herself was both knowledgeable about the area and helpful in her suggestions of where we should visit, what to see etc. She was beyond kind in printing off the Covid tests results needed by my American friends for their flight - and did it without any fuss or fanfare. My friends and I feel enormously privileged to have spent time together in this truly lovely place and we whoeheartedly recommend it.

Wonderful place - full of character
Best holiday rental we've ever stayed in. Full of character, comfortable & very clean. A beautiful private enclosed garden; brilliantly & thoughtfully equipped living spaces. We had very hot weather throughout, but found the slightly below-ground floor bedrooms tended to stay relatively cool, and loved having French windows opening straight into the garden, complete with roses round the door! Lovely welcome pack from local farm shop, and great communication from our exceptional hosts, who had truly thought of everything. Thank you so much, Amanda.
