Perfect escape

This place is amazing. If it was in the United States, rooms would be close to $1000 per night. We had river views and a gorgeous huge room. Breakfast was perfect and the service was superb.

We left one day before even if we had paid, and did not get refunded.

Breakfast was ok. Some of the staff were very nice.

We got an oldfashioned room with no aircon, which is very rare at the price we paid. We found the surroundings quite boaring and the place is quite isolated.

Nice place.

Beautiful place. We LOVED the old house and how we could use the kitchen there. I think I could have stayed there for 2weeks! Awesome staff (happy, accomodationg, and energizing to be around). It's like two hotels in one: one an old (but luxurious) stone b&b, plus next door, across the vineyard, a brand new modern spa hotel and restaurant with a fancy new pool and gym. It was really fun to explore the house and the old car collection, plus fun to relax in the modern spa parts. The new restaurant made really good vegetarian food for us.

The noble twin bed room has a step that we tripped on several times, but otherwise very comfortable.

Memorable experience, huge appreciation to the hotel staff who treated us like family!

The property is beautiful, the hotel is unique in so many aspects, and the staff is exceptional! We had a very unfortunate issue that had absolutely nothing to do with the hotel, we contacted local authorities who were unable to provide us with the support we needed, we decided to contact the hotel management to see if they could assist us and they went above and beyond to anything anyone could have ever expected. Thank you very much to the hotel Director - Ms. Susana and the staff she gathered to help us in a very difficult moment. They provided us with an exceptional overall experience during our stay and, because of this we will certainly return to the hotel and recommend it to all our close friends and family.

Exceptional

We lived in the authentic house/villa which was outstanding. Near the villa, there were many historical cars – old Porsches, Rolls Royce, Mercedes Benz and others. We enjoyed the pool near the main building of vineyard with comfy sunbeds. The nearby little towns gave us very pleasant food experiences. Just ask the reception of the recommendations.

The bed in the villa could be longer because for 186 cm height man is not so comfortable.

Stay at least two day to relax and reset!

This property is other level of hospitality. This is maybe the best stay we ever had. Design of rooms is outstanding, every detail is perfect from design, smell or towers, set up, landscape and the most important personnel that is more than friendly and welcoming, very well trained and speaking several foreign languages.

Fantastic experience in the Duoro. Top place to stay, eat and drink!

The night we stayed happened to feature a degustation menu at the restaurant and the food was amazingly good, as was the wine. The views from the restaurant across the Duoro Valley were spectacular. We stayed in the original villa and the room was very nicely decorated, and the bathroom was understandably small but had everything needed and was very clean. The property also features a historic motor car collection and a vineyard. We were treated to a full tour of the estate the next day. This hotel was our favourite in Portugal.

It was all very good. Signage to get into the property could have been better but they're rectifying this with a lovely new entrance.

Lovely stay, enjoyed walking around the estate

A piece of heaven!

A dream in heaven - this place can’t be described, unless you are there. The gardens, the planted vines, the entire complex, near the river, the road down the orchard, everything is carefully placed where it can enhance the charm of this small piece of heaven. The food is delicious and the entire staff so welcoming and helpful! Congrats for creating a warm experience to your guests. Definitely on our list of comeback places.

Casa da Lavand’eira is a newly developed hotel locate in a beautiful old vineyard. It combines old world charm with modern facilities. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant offers excellent dining. A gem in the Douro!

One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever been in

The house is decorated(with many original antique furniture) and is amazing, and outside the vineyard is extremely beautiful and picturesque. It is nice to explore the property and the house with its many rooms. The room is very nice and clean and there is a kitchen downstairs if you need anything. The staff are very kind and helpful.

Quaint, beautiful Portuguese villa

The accommodation is set in an 19th century house and maintains the original design. The interiors are lovely, and the surroundings are equally great. The accommodation has a pool with a view, plus a vineyard that offers guests the possibility to stroll around.

The breakfast was a bit dull, but that wasn't a deal breaker. We still loved this accommodation.

Exceptional

The vineyard view room was lovely, very private but close to the hotel and vines. We had breakfast each day and the staff were truly excellent (Ana, Liliana and Sophie, take a bow!) and it was a joy to stay at Casa de Lavandeira. We enjoyed the pool, the walk along the river and being close to lots of little restaurants and places to visit. The best part of the day was sitting outside the room, looking out onto the vines with a glass of wine. We will definitely return in the future!

Fantastic hide away with great pool in the Douro valley

Great pool with comfortable beds, beautiful old Casa/Quinta and scenery. Drinking a Vinho Verde of the Casa by the pool is a true holiday experience. Very friendly reception in excellent English. Ana helped us booking the nice Paiva boardwalk. Well equiped kitchen for quests.

The room was beautiful but quite warm at night without aircon or fan. Otherwise a mosquito net would be nice to leave the windows open at night. Suggestion: provide some historical info about the Casa in the room and a wine tasting would be great.

Truly picturesque property but be prepared to self cater

The grounds of the property are absolutely stunning. We stayed in a beautiful room with a panoramic terrace and it was so picturesque. The staff were so attentive also, welcoming us and helping us in answering any questions.

This property is so stunning but lacked amenities. The pool needed a clean, appreciating it is outdoors however there was sediment on the bottom of the pool. The bar also closed at 5pm and when arriving at 4pm after a full day exploring the Douro all we wanted desperately to do was to order some drinks and some basic food and enjoy the stunning property and grounds. This really hindered our experience as we had to go back out for dinner when all we wanted to do was relax. This property could really rival 5 star hotels in the area as it was so absolutely stunning but the lack of amenities really did let it down.

Amazing, recharging and relaxing

Amazing location, we felt totally recharged. Beautiful room and the bathroom felt luxurious. A great stay. Especially thanks to the lovely staff. Ana Isabel was so helpful and nice. She arranged an amazing wine tasting for us in the area and all in all, we felt like we were in a small paradise!
