I was attracted to this place simply because the price, £20per night for a bed. its located right in the centre of the village, next to a couple of pubs, which is good. The place is well maintained and clean. Staff were great. Breakfast was better than I expected and although it £10, its worth the money.
OK, you have to share a room with strangers, not ideal, but for £20PPN its a good option particularly for solo travelers. Walls are a bit thin, and sound travels, particularity from a groups of friends in other rooms who stay up late/get up early.

Great location and right next to the pub. Easy access to the walking trails. Very clean and friendly people working there. Free parking is a plus.

Very small room for £130

We ordered a room for 2 people and there are more than 2 beds .The room is spacious enough for suitacases.
I wish the heater could be cleaner even j know it s not gonna turn on in summer. I see the spider net and dust when I opened the window. But the parking space seems is not guarantee, with a little bit confusions.

Breakfast, staff and location all fab. Some nice outdoor spaces. Central to village.
But expensive for what it was as I had a double bunk room for 1 person, but it was a late booking. Room was next to kitchen and I was kept awake by the sound of taps being used. It's astonishing how loud it was. And how late at night.

Being able to house our family in one room. Friendly staff. Great location. Self-serve kitchen. Other guests were quiet and respectful.
Private ensuite.

it was just a really nice place for the money.
4.1
Reasonably priced with good enough facilities
I explicitly asked for a parking for which the hostel accepted the request but on arrival the entire parking was full and I was advised to park on the road in the village. In the morning I ended up with a scratch on my car :(

The location of the hostel is perfect for hiking in that area, bang in the village, 2 mins walk from pubs

Staff was very accommodating👍👍👍
Room is not noise proof, you can hear what the people above and beside your room is doing. However, everything else more than makes up for it. I would still highly recommend

Very friendly + helpful staff. Excellent location in the heart of Malham village
veggie breakfast wasn't very nice. Could do with using different type of plant based sausages

brilliant location

Location. Most facilities.
Village shop is closed, no supplies at all available for walkers or slow travellers. Seems remiss of hostel not to stock minimal basic foodstuffs.
Could try harder on green front. Lights outside and inside ablaze all afternoon tho hostel closed, conti breakfast generates lots of plastic waste, which wasn't recycled.

The location
cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at
The breakfast and the staff during breakfast was amazing
Very comfortable bed
Free parking
Very quiet
The self-service kitchen area
The staff during the night check in said 'we make food only when we have time, we are preparing for a group coming in 5 days'. This came across being lazy as the hostel info said we have a choice of dinner at the hostel and there was two members of staff at the time. Not a big deal but for people who have no cars /check in after 7 pm can be left without food as the nearest town is 11 miles away and no local shops nearby. Kindly make it clear in the hostel information during booking about this.
Also will be nice for staff especially at night/evening to have information of closing time of pubs in the area.

Friendly staff, really lovely ladies working there. :) Room was clean and big ENOUGH. Actually it was one of the cleanest place compare to previous experience. Free car park just behind the YHA buildings. There's dining room too. w
You can find there some games and books for my youngest one to keep him busy. We could check-in around 9pm after our countryside and hill trip. Room was clean, toilets and shower in really good and clean condition. :)
beautiful natural surround YHA Malham too. :)

The power shower was excellent
They were not sure, one way or the other, if they could offer an evening meal when I was checking in.
A bit pricey when you consider they do not supply towels or tea/coffee making facilities,

'Because where you go changes who you become" - The YHA motto I respect and which helps my kids formative memories.
It's a YHA so it's not The Ritz. If I ever win the lottery I will donate to help them update.
