About this house rental
Meadow End Barn sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms (the sixth bedroom is open to the sitting room up a spiral staircase on mezzanine), peaceful village location, 6 miles from Hay on Wye. Lovely stone property with huge sitting room great for large parties set in courtyard with private parking and walled garden.
Up to date interiors with 6 bedrooms (4 on the ground floor) and a 6th open plan bedroom set on a mezzanine. 5 shower or bathrooms, three ensuite. All with underfloor heating. Filled with creature comforts and very well equipped kitchen. 2 dogs welcome. Walking distance to the village pub. Great walking area with Black mountains and Brecon Beacons to hand.
A note about accessibility…. unfortunately the house isn’t really suitable for wheelchair users because the kitchen and living space is upstairs. There is an exposed cobbled landing (uneven) leading to the bedrooms on the ground floor. We don’t supply baby gates and there is an open landing which has bannisters but there is a drop to the floor below.

Had a lovely holiday at Meadow End Barn celebrating my 70th birthday with family.Property clean and well equipped, although a washing line would have been useful.Coralie and villagers very friendly and welcoming.Had a couple of meals at the local pub, very friendly staff and very accommodating for disabled members in my party.
Would recommend Meadow End Barn.

Stunning property in a picture-postcard village.
Coralie was a wonderful host.

The barn has so much character and charm and nearly all the rooms have their own bathrooms which were well appointed. Lovely views of the surrounding countryside from the upper level where the kitchen and living room were located. The kitchen was very well equipped for a large family who self-catered as we did. Plenty of room In the living and dining areas for my family if 10. A couple of negative points: The dryer was not efficient at all and then we discovered it was badly in need of a lint clean which seemingly had not been done for a very long time. People in the master bedroom and twin room downstairs said the beds were not very comfortable. We very much enjoyed our stay there.

We were a group of 10 friends and one dog, who spent a great weekend in this property and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. It was very comfortable, homely and well equipped. As a group we have stayed in quite a few properties throughout the UK, but we all agreed this was probably the best to date. The sociable layout was perfect and the bedrooms very comfortable. Coralie, the owner provided us with useful information up front and communicated with us really well. Location wise it was perfect for visiting the lovely Hay on Wye and the fantastic Pandy Inn was in walking distance where we had a great Sunday lunch. If you’re looking for a place to stay you couldn’t go wrong with this one. Thank you & hopefully we’ll be back at some point in the future.

Bunch of 60 year olds , university friends meeting up. Barn was as per pictures - excellent , very comfortable and great space for 7 adults to chill in comfort.
the Pand Inn pub was two minutes walk away and was very good- real ales and good food with great service.
Can also reconned the Nags Head in Peterschurch- had a very good welcome there for Sunday lunch

We had the most wonderful time celebrating a big family birthday. Everyone loved the barn. The stand outs for us - (1) Ample seating with enough space for everyone to do their own thing, (2) great big dining table for us to enjoy meals together, (3) sizeable and very well stocked kitchen, (4) lovely outdoor space for eating and playing, (5) beautiful surrounding area and we loved Hay on Wye. My nephews loved the mezzanine bedroom but it was a little restrictive at night time but the kitchen was big enough for the party to continue in :) We would go back in a heartbeat!

The pictures made me think it was too good to be true but it was even better than this! Stunning property and so much space. Well insulated - we actually had to turn the heating off. The kitchen is laid out very well and a sociable space whilst being functional.
Superb location for dog walking and hill running.

Beautiful and spacious property; tastefully decorated; incredibly well-equipped; and ideal for extended family celebrations. The Pandy Inn - just a short stroll down the road - is a fantastic place to have a meal.

We had an excellent stay and would thoroughly recommend the barn.
Everything was there that we needed for a family get together pre-Christmas.
Had dinner at the Pandy Inn which was also excellent.

The property was perfect for our requirements and the weather was one of the sunniest weeks of the year!
Apart from the local pub (a 4 minute walk away), visits to towns like Ross on Wye and Brecon all required the use of cars, but we new this before we went so it wasn't an issue.
The local pub (The Pandy) dealt with our large group very well, to the extent that we decided to go back and have the final meal of our holiday in their lovely garden.
Coralie was at hand to deal with any queries that arose and she very kindly supplied us with an extra new cantilever umbrella as the weather was so hot in the sun..
The property doesn't have air-con but as the chances of getting a week of consistent temperatures in the high 20's C must be fairly remote, that is understandable. We did have the use of 2 electric fans for the top bedroom and the baby's room.
All the rooms were well equipped for our needs and we would have no hesitation in recommending the house to any large group who want a nice property in a quiet area . That said, at harvest time, the local farmers are out on their tractors quite early , but you soon get used to them.

Beautiful barn conversion near Hay
We had a fantastic long weekend at Meadow End Barn with our extended family. The house is very attractive inside and out and comfortably accommodates 12 people. We also loved the location - great walks from the doorstep, plus of course only a few miles from Hay-on-Wye. All-in-all, a great place to stay. Many thanks, Coralie,.

We had a nice week at the barn - our host was welcoming and communication with her was excellent. The barn was easy to find and access (with ample parking) and a fantastic location for exploring the Wye Valley and Hay on Wye. The Moccas Park nearby was great too.The decor was incredibly tasteful (albeit different from the photos) and the barn was very well appointed, enabling is to prepare food and also bbq. The upside-down layout worked really well. The ratio of bathrooms to bedrooms was excellent, our guests were all well catered for. Lots of games and entertainment for the kids too.The main issue we had with the barn was that it was too hot for us, much more than we are used to at home! There didn't seem to be many ways to cool it (one fan was provided) and also no shade in the garden throughout the day until the evening. Room temperatures were well above 30 degrees and we didn't even use the aga or log fire. Bedding was all very heavy and we could barely stand to go in the drying room. This wouldn't put me off recommending it to any of my friends, I think it's just more of a winter or shoulder season place. Being close to the river helped for lots of swims to cool down though!

Fantastic village retreat for a family get together
Excellent experience from booking, through communication pre-arrival and whilst we were staying in the barn. Very well-equipped and set up for a group of couples or large family groups. Really spacious living areas, comfortable seating. Great to have 3 ensuite bedrooms plus two further bathrooms. Walled garden at rear was delightful and safe for dogs and children. Coralia was a delightful host, very quick to respond. Great to have supplies of everything like washing detergent, washing up liquid, loo rolls in plentiful quantities. Very short walk to excellent local pub. Lots of Great walks from the doorstep. We'd love to return.

Friends weekend away
We have just returned from staying at Meadow Barn and what a lovely experience it was! The accommodation is superb and our host, Coralie very friendly and helpful. There are beautiful walks from the doorstep and Hay on Wye and Hereford are only a short drive away. A perfect place for a group of friends or family gathering - we have already booked to return again next year!

Great property for groups
Beautifully presented property. Unusual layout with lounge kitchen and dining on 2nd floor which is great for socialising.
Parking for 2 to 3 cars.
Garden at rear with seating area and bbq. One issue we had was lots of dog poo on the lawn which sadly one of my party trod in!
Owner was very responsive during our stay.

Great weekend break
We had a great time with our friends staying at this Property. There is plenty of room and we were fortunate enough to have a couple of dry days that allowed us to sit outside in the garden for a few drinks. We also made use of the Pandy Inn just up the road.
