This is an excellent pub/hotel. Our room was light, airy and very clean. The food was excellent and the staff could not have been more helpful. We'd only planned to eat there on the night or our arrival but enjoyed our meal so much that we booked for the second night, too. The pub was heaving with a lovely atmosphere. All in all, could not have had a better time.

We used to eat at the pub when we lived in Pett Level so we were familiar with it and the family who owned it

The evening dinner was amazing my husband’s steak was outstanding he said
My vegetarian option of cauliflower curry - wasent what I expected as it was a whole side of a cauliflower plus sauce on the side 😩so bit uninteresting
But the room was comfy nice to have a fridge and proper milk for tea
Hot water took forever to get to basin
And the shower head kept collapsing
Our room wasent refreshed during our two night stay.

The ceiling in the dining area are low so if you are tall please be mindful to duck down after all it is a 16th century building
with a lot of charactor
Plenty of parking and surrounding woods to take a stroll coast line is only 5mins by car - will definately stay again,
Health and safety fire Emergency green light directly above the bed in room
in fairness new owners and are looking to see if it is possible to move the light to a different location within the room
I did wake up feeling like I was shriek lol

Our room was spacious and there was easy parking. Very generous breakfast, like bnb’s used to be 35 years ago!
The first night there was a party in the pub downstairs at 11 pm with loud music and voices but fortunately it ended at midnight

The most beautiful setting . Lovely country stay . Staff were all friendly and helpful . The food was amazing .breakfast was perfect every day . . Will deff go back to stay . Great place as a base to go see everything. A well needed break and the most perfect stay at this country pub
I like it dark when I go at sleep there was an exit light above the door with a light on . It lit up the room when all lights off .
Just my preference when I go to sleep

Very friendly staff, historic pub in quiet village, good value, spacious room, good breakfasts, enjoyed the food in the evening.
The two real ales I tried in the bar were not particularly good, so I switched to drinking wine instead.

Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good location, tasty food
It's a pup/restaurant- you hear what's going on inside and outside the house. Especially at night it stays loud quite long.

Very clean. Food was of a very good standard and menu was varied, especially main day menu. Breakfast was more than adequate. Room was a good size with all expected facilities. Fridge was a welcome extra. Comfortable bed.
Whilst appreciating this is an old property, the rooms were a little tired with some stains on the furniture, cracks in some of the walls, paint was also flaking there and also on the beams. Some pictures on the walls, the room could have been a little more colourful. The TV only had 2 BBC terrestrial channels with a small number of other channels. None of this spoiled the stay but a refresh of the decor would enhance things significantly.

Very comfortable room with wonderful quality of tea and biscuits (good tea, nice biscuits and REAL milk in a fridge - wow. We don't drink coffee so this matters). Comfortable bed, and parking v close.

really helpful staff, fast check-in, good dinner in the evening with great service, excellent breakfast (local sausages in the 'full English'), spacious & airy room, comfy bed, good shower & spotless bathroom
our room was at the front & being summer with windows open, a little noisy hearing all the conversations from guests at the outside tables directly below the window, but also noise from bar directly below us came through. It was a Friday night so to be fair, perhaps it is a bit quieter mid-week

In a nice quiet area just outside of Hastings (10 - 15 mins in car). Lovely host, food and beer/wine were superb, and the locals were welcoming. Room was spacious and my disabled elderly mother managed with the stairs to the room with help (maybe a grab handle or two would have been nice additions around the property). Lovely finale on way home from trip to France.
Even though it was winter there was still plenty to do around the Hastings area.

We stayed at the Two Sawyers for New Year. Our friends had previously stayed there before lockdown and really enjoyed it, so we booked to stay again. It’s a lovely pub and all the staff are very friendly and helpful, the food is really good and plentiful. Nothing was too much trouble and they all made our stay really lovely.

The room was clean & spacious , with a nice sized shower & a useful small fridge. Bottled water very helpful & fresh milk.
The breakfast & evening food was the best part of the stay.
The noise of the downstairs bar on the first night & the roadside traffic.
Pillows a little uncomfortable but bed fine.
