About this house rental
The space
This spacious house is a single family home with 8 bedrooms.
The front door of the home opens to the very spacious living and dining area. The living room has a 50" tv (cable and DVD) and queen sleeper sofa that is actually comfortable to sleep on (we use the best mattress available so no one gets a sore back!). There is also a decorative fireplace, not for guest use. Open to the living room is a dining area that has a large table with 14 seats. The table can expand, with folding chairs for additional guests.
This floor features a full bathroom and two bedrooms. Each of the home's bedrooms is decorated to celebrate a major conference in college sports. One of the bedrooms on this floor is the "Big 10," which has a king bed. The other main floor bedroom is the "Big 12," which has a twin over queen bunk bed, along with a twin trundle beneath the bed.
Make your way downstairs to the lower level of the home. Here, you will find four bedrooms. Two ("PAC 12" and "Ivy League") have king beds, another (the "ACC") has a twin over full bunk bed as well as a twin over twin bunk bed, and the fourth room ("Big East") has a twin over twin bunk bed. Another full bathroom is on this floor, along with the laundry facilities.
One level above the main (entry) floor are two additional bedrooms. The first ("SEC") has a king bed, along with a crib and small seating area. The other bedroom upstairs ("Mountain West Conference") has a king bed as well. These two bedrooms share a nearby bathroom, as well as access to an outdoor deck with a gorgeous view of the valley.
The backyard of the home is set up with a BBQ and seating for outdoor meals! An outdoor deck is present on each level of the home.
Air conditioning is a real rarity in Seattle. This home does not have central A/C, but does have a small window unit air conditioner in the living room and the two bedrooms on the upper floor.
Guest access
Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.
You will have access to the entire home
Interaction with guests
Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live nearby. Unless we are out of town, we are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.
Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.
Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
The neighborhood
This 8 bedroom home is central to everything Montlake, Madison Valley, Capitol Hill and Central Seattle have to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more. Your hosts made this neighborhood their home when settling in Seattle 7 years ago... and haven't looked back since. We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, and we will gladly suggest fun walks depending on your interests. Stroll to the beach at Madison Park. Walk by multi-million dollar estates. Discover hidden neighborhood gems such as the farmhouse with horses in the yard and the home that doubles as an eclectic art studio and antique truck gallery. Take a walk through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington. Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris"), Madrona and Capitol Hill have to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more. Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot. If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each within a few blocks of home, and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
Getting around
We live a few short blocks from bus lines that will take you to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Street parking is plentiful and free.

Six families stayed at The Campus for a recent soccer tournament in Seattle. We would normally all stay at a hotel, but chose to rent a house. Wee were lucky to have found "The Campus." The house was well cleaned when we arrived, had very large rooms for all of the guests, and ample living space to move around. Every thing a large group of people would want. Our group (14 people) was able to eat together most nights around the large table in the dining room, and having a nice sized kitchen with plenty of modern appliances was a huge help in cooking meals. The house is a very short walk from the Madrona commercial area, with nice restaurants, cafes and a good sized convenience store. The owners were extremely timely with correspondence and we never had an issue. Had a great time and would certainly stay at the home again.

We stayed at the house for my son’s wedding week. All of my family was able to stay together which made the week extra special. Great place for larger groups. It was very clean and plenty of space for all of us!

The stay was fine, but there was confusion of VRBO sending us to the incorrect location. It was overwhelming to have a larger group of people have to regroup to find the correct location and took time from our gathering.

Good communication from hosts, who were accommodating for my request for early arrival/late check out.
Great neighborhood.

I booked this house for several colleagues. They reported that the house was comfortable for their short stay.
Check in was confusing because the address listed by Vrbo was not the address provided in the house guide. The host was responsive after calls and texts, but my staff did not know where to go until I received confirmation.

The house was spacious and we had enough room for the 12 of us.
Tiny coffee mugs, would prefer a few larger ones.
Dirty countertops and floors, stained mattress pad on crib.
Ant infestation-it was disgusting in the basement bathroom and some in the kitchen. The ant traps that the owners claimed were effective were not at all. We ended up buying our own ant spray. I asked the owners if they had considered extermination and they said they had it scheduled. Seems like it’s an ongoing problem so you would just have regular exterminating services.
Not enough seating in LR for 23 people or 12 in our case.
Heat not working in 2 basement rooms
Shower curtain in basement not functional-water all over floor

We had 14 family members and enough beds to make everyone happy. Plenty of hot water. Our only problem was a very creaky top floor. I’d recommend very solid through-the-night sleepers on that floor.

We had a wonderful time with our family. We choose the house because it allowed us all to stay in one location and had 8 bedrooms which allowed everyone to have their separate areas for sleeping.
We went in July and there was only air conditioning in two rooms. One of the bedrooms was too hot for anyone to stay in and the others without AC were a bit warm even with the fans supplied in the rooms.
The living room did not have enough furnishings for a large group (10 people) and we brought chairs from the dining table to accommodate everyone.
We had to pay $250 for an early check-in which to me was too high.
If we asked questions to the owner we were sent links to previous provided information rather than just answering the question. When you pay over $1200 per night you expect more personalized information. Especially when the question was about location of additional fans or where we should put the trash bins that were left in the street.
What made it nice was the mornings and evenings where we all gathered at the table to talk and laugh.
We would go again (at a cooler time of the year) as long as it was at a less expensive price.

Plenty of room for our family of 16. Owners were very responsive. I recommend whether staying in Seattle or got pre/post cruise.

We were a family of 10, grandparents to grandchildren. The house is a described. 8 bedrooms, lots of beds. Soft sheets, comfortable mattresses. There is room to spread out, but if you wanna keep littleones close, that is manageable tooClean. The kitchen is large and the dining room table was great. Its a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Although we couldn't always park right in front of the house, parking was never far, and we had 2 cars. There is a lil affordable grocery near by and Merdona is adorable. We got the kids, 18-23 yrs, Orca passes and i think they found close bus stops. The house was great and communication with Lynne was easy.

The house provided all the space we needed for our group of 23. The manager checked in with us multiple times to make sure things were good. In the “quirks about the house” it mentions an issue with ants. This was an issue during our stay. Any food left on the counters you could find groups of ants. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

no complaints, nice home, clean and comfortable.

Overall we were happy there. 9 people total, all mature adults who benefitted from the large table in the large dining room. Ants were present which is why we knocked a point off the cleanliness grade. Otherwise, very, very clean.
Parking wasn't a problem, just not convenient.
We recommend this place for a large group or family :-)

This is a wonderful property in a quiet neighborhood. Parking seems to be an issue with the neighbors but that is a totally understandable with everyone having to park on the street. The property managers are wonderful!

I stayed here with a group of coworkers for our annual staff retreat. The house worked well for us! It's big, with lots of rooms, and our group of 15 was comfortable! There were a couple of quirks - there's quite a bit of upkeep that the house needs - its a pretty old house, but still functions. The pots/pans were not quite at the size that would serve the group size that the house holds, but we made due! There aren't cleaning supplies in the house, so we purchased some for better clean up after meals. I would guess that's why there were quite a few ants in the house. They also have a guest book that is full of bad reviews (which seems like an odd choice to keep in the house) that mentions ghosts and the bad smell (we did encounter the smell when we entered, though opening the windows took care of it). If you don't mind those things, its a great location (close to a cute shopping area and a quick uber to downtown) and holds a lot of people!

It is a lovely house located in a nice neighborhood. Ideal location. If there is anything that need to be fixed, I would say it is the top flooring and wooden bed, they re creaking really loud.

Only area of improvement would be to add an Amazon fire stick to TV to allow group to access movies in demand using their own streaming service.

The house itself exceeded our expectations. It was more than enough space to accommodate our group of 10 consisting all age groups except an infant. Everything we needed for our day-to-day was provided. The only negatives or things to be aware of are:1) communication with the owners was inconsistent,2) the house was clearly unlevel,3) the main floor bathroom lock was broken and the owners did not respond to the request to fix it or provide tools for us to fix it,4) it's an older house so the water temp changed when in use elsewhere and the floors were creaky, and 5) we did not receive the welcome package as indicated on the listing. I mean, a bottle of wine would have been nice to come home to after a 12-hour drive. Other than that, all 10 of us enjoyed our stay in the house. We would rent it again in the future and recommend it for large groups.

Great Family Gathering Place
We had 14 family members from three generations staying here for 8 days. The house is well suited to such a gathering and well equipped for that size group. The place was spotlessly clean, well appointed, and comfortable. Great gathering room across the front with couches and chairs...we spent a lot of time together there. Also, the kitchen is large, with lottsa counterspace, so a half dozen of us could work in there at the same time on meals or snacks or just hanging out talking to others who were preparing food. All the bedrooms were adequate with good bedding comforters. Bathrooms were fine...two with showers, one with an old clawfoot tub (and shower). Three floors with a bath on each floor. It was winter and rainy, so we did not use the outside decks, but there is one on each of the three levels and they looked relatively spacious and useful. Small back yard...very hilly in this area of town (Madrona). "Uptown Madrona" was small and quaint and only about 2 1/2 blocks away. Nice walk with several eating choices, small grocery/wine store, and a couple of small specialty shops. The house is right in the middle of a residential area and houses are close. There is no driveway or off-street parking, so it is open parallel parking on the street. There is no guarantee you will get a slot right in front of the house, but sometimes we did. We never had to park more than a half block from the house. The owners were very free in providing info about the unit, responded to texts when we had a question about trash pickup day and a couple of other daily operational questions. Overall, a very good visit and we'd go back to that unit again, if we needed that large of a unit in Seattle. We have no reservation in recommending the unit. Great stay.

Great for a big group
Plenty of room for our group of 14 (could have held more easily). Only minor item would be to add a few large serving bowls, platters for big group meals. Great coordination and communication with property managers. Thanks!

Great family reunion
We had a wonderful stay at the Campus with family in town from California and Germany. We were gathered for our son's wedding and it was so helpful to find a place we could be together and close to the wedding. Plenty of comfortable beds and a nice big dining table.

Wonderful Spot for Family Gathering
This house was perfect for a family reunion. The bedrooms provided options for both adults and children, the large table was great for gathering, and the outdoor porches were pleasant for morning and early evening.
