About this house rental
The space
This spacious house is a single family home with 7 bedrooms.
The front door of the home opens to the living and dining area.
The living room has a 50" tv (cable and DVD) and queen sleeper sofa that is actually comfortable to sleep on (we use the best mattress available so no one gets a sore back!). There is also a decorative fireplace.
Open to the living room is a dining area that has a large table with 14 seats. The table can expand, with folding chairs for additional guests.
This floor features a full bathroom and three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have king beds, and the third has a twin over queen bunk bed, along with a twin trundle beneath the bed.
Make your way downstairs to the lower level of the home. Here, you will find a bonus kitchen --- perfect for those preparing a large feast. There is also a second living room with 50" tv (cable and DVD) and another comfy queen sleeper sofa.
There are two bedrooms on this level. One has a king bed, and the other has two queen over queen bunk beds. The two bedrooms share a full bathroom. The lower level is also home to the laundry facilities.
One level above the main (entry) floor are two additional bedrooms. One has a king bed. The other has two queen beds. These two bedrooms share a nearby bathroom.
The backyard of the home is set up with a BBQ and seating for outdoor meals!
AIR CONDITIONING
Air conditioning is a real rarity in Seattle. This home does not have central A/C, but does have a small window unit air conditioner in 3 bedrooms on the main floor.
Guest access
Access to the home is provided without a cumbersome lock box or key exchange. Instead, you will choose a 4 digit code, and the electronic lock to the home will be programmed work your code for the duration of your stay.
You will have access to the entire home, including a driveway suitable for two cars.
Interaction with guests
Your hosts, Andy and Lynne, live nearby. Unless we are out of town, we are here to welcome you and help you with any of your needs during your stay. We are happy to offer you advice for sightseeing, restaurant recommendations, and even some budget saving tips and coupons.
Guests will receive, in advance, our comprehensive homemade visitors' guide to Seattle, packed with our personal recommendations for dining, activities, and much more.
Do you plan to cook during your stay? By special advanced arrangement (depending on availability), we will fulfill your grocery list and have your home stocked for your arrival.
The neighborhood
This 7 bedroom home is central to everything Montlake, Madison Valley, Capitol Hill and Central Seattle have to offer: great restaurants, parks, hiking, supermarkets, day spas, and more. Your hosts made this neighborhood their home they first settled in Seattle ... and haven't looked back since.
We love walking the streets of this neighborhood, looking at beautiful old houses and wandering through the fabled Arboretum to Lake Washington.
Once you have worked up your appetite, enjoy the countless restaurants that Madison Valley ("Little Paris"), Madrona and Capitol Hill have to offer. In addition to French gems, try our favorite tapas restaurant or the best Japanese food east of Tokyo. Take your morning coffee in one of numerous bakeries. Or opt for Thai, pan-Asian, craft pizza, Tex-Mex or more.
Our home provides easy access to Downtown (Pikes Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Great Wheel), Seattle Center (Space Needle, Chihuly Glass Museum), South Lake Union (MOHAI), University of Washington, and Capitol Hill. All are accessible by car, bus (numerous bus lines a few blocks from home), or for the adventurous, by foot. If all of this touring (and eating) has you tired, pamper yourself with a visit to a day spa or nail salon. There are several of each nearby and we are happy to point you in the right direction.
Getting around
The home is located close to several bus lines that will either take you or offer connections to Seattle's numerous neighborhoods (Madison Park, Capitol Hill, Downtown, Belltown, Seattle Center, South Lake Union). Queen Anne, Ballard, and Fremont are more easily accessed by car. Our home offers driveway parking for two cars.
Legal
This home has a maximum sleeping capacity of 28. However, Seattle regulations state that no more than 8 *unrelated* guests are permitted per booking. Groups greater in size than 8 will need to affirm that there are no more than 8 unrelated individuals in the group.
To respect our neighbors, this home may use internal NoiseAware sensors. These devices do not record audio within the home, but will alert Seattle Vacation Home when the volume exceeds a level that threatens neighborhood tranquility. We may also use EXTERIOR security cameras to promote the safety of our guests, neighbors and team members.

We loved that we could all fit at the dining table, often hard to find with rentals. House was as described, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of bath towels. No complaints! Nice that the park is just around the corner for a lovely walk.

The size and configuration of the home was great. The hosts left a nice welcome gift. Wish there were more mirrors and counter space in the bathroom. The house is on a busy street and it was challenging backing out of the driveway.

We had an amazing time in Seattle and partly because of the wonderful accommodations. My family and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for 12 people. The house was just perfect and we felt right st home. Thank you.

Our stay at the Montlake home was great! This home is located in the perfect location in regards to downtown. Upon arrival, there was a thoughtful welcome package and guide book for things to do around Seattle. The house was clean, comfortable and fun! We really enjoyed our stay here!

We had a big group of friends spend a lovely weekend in Seattle. The house is huge and accommodates a big group (20+) comfortably. An initial concern of ours was the 3 bathrooms but we made it work. It has a lovely kitchen and sizable dining area that is convenient for big group dinners. The hosts are also very responsive and accommodating. Would recommend to friends!
