Everything was as described. Nice room (with fridge!), good WiFi, nice and friendly hosts.
Nothing to improve. Good value for money.
4.0
Comfortable beds, nice towels, great to have a fridge. Great shower. Nice to have a table and chairs to sit and eat at.
Very handy to have a bus stop just over the road into town.
Elizabeth was very helpful.
Such a shame that breakfast was not available as it was a little inconvenient to have to bring food stuffs with us to eat, but that was really my fault as I did not realise no breakfast was available.

Very friendly welcome from Amy with advice on getting into town, which was easy on no 3 bus, and eating, using Robin Hood pub up the road which was good for Dinner and breakfast.
Woken up by noise of TV and chatting in next room at 1.00am.

Our room was extremely comfortable. The shower was brilliant, and the bed was so comfortable. A short bus ride into the centre of Cambridge. The host was very friendly. We would definitely stay again when. Visiting Cambridge.
Everything was lovely.

great location, was welcomed upon arrival really nice, otherwise was left alone which suited us fine as we were out most of the day and just came back to sleep. Was pleased we picked a room with an en suite, the shower pressure was great! And everything really clean.
Would be a nice touch to come back to see the room had been serviced a little, and have our tea cups replaced for clean ones, bed made. Just a nice touch after a long day in the city. Also the hair dryer stopped working every now and again.

I loved the house and the room was always very clean! The owners were also very nice and helpful :) The location was perfect too! near a bus station to the centre, and also a few convenience stores!
I believe that for the price it was a bit disappointing that we didn’t have breakfast due do covid (although we were informed beforehand). I do understand the reasoing.

The location is outstanding: There is a bus stop nearby to go to the city center, as well as a supermarket and a really nice pub within 5 min walk. We were lucky and had a room to the back, so that it was quite quiet. Large bed.
There was no breakfast during our stay - we cannot tell about that.
The fridge is a bit noisy during night.
Just to know: Parking in front of the house is not guaranteed, but in the road around the corner possible.

The room was very small with no proper bathroom, only a toilet with small shower and sink in the main room. It is situated on a very busy main road, so very noisy, also very light from street lights even with curtains fully drawn. The main disappointment was no breakfast. which is one reason we chose this location and was offered when we booked. it was also a long bus ride into Cambridge.

During the morning prior to our arrival a very polite call from the owner enquiring about our arrival time. On arrival a very warm greeting and quick brief concerning our location. The bathroom was spotless. No hair, shiney taps, poloshed mirror. My wife and I tend to be VERY particular and both of us were impressed, One minor criticism was that the complimentary liquid bath and shower gel was not sufficiently strong to overcome the very hard but non-attributable water.
The bedroom was small but adequate, clean and serviced. Storage space for a weeks stay may be inadequate but for our 2 night booking was quite sufficient.
The property is within 150 metres of a regular bus route connecting the area to the centre of Cambridge so you can leave your car on the forecourt, The walk to the Centre is about 35-40 minutes.
We booked a small room. I suspect that a large room would suit those spending 5 nights in the accommodation. If you choose to stay at this property you will find the landlady intresting and helpful. I recommend this accommodation and believe it offers great value within this price range.
Not "didn't like" anything. Would have enjoyed a more powerful body wash gel.

Fresh milk is provided in the mini fridge.
No breakfasts available

Elizabeth, the owner of Alington House, was absolutely lovely and made us feel right at home. The room was clean, the bed was massive & comfy, and the shower nearly blew my face off (in the best way!) as it was so powerful! We booked the larger double room, all the tea, coffee, towels etc were restocked each day. A little disappointing there is no breakfast available but can understand why, and knew this when we booked. We took our own cereal. It was handy having a fridge and there is a microwave in the hallway downstairs as well.
Nothing I can think of.

The room and bed were clean and comfortable and the location was brilliant for our purposes - Addenbrooks was an easy slow 30 minute walk. Good cafes and shops around and the staff were very responsive and helpful.
The room was hot and the fan supplied was so noisy that we could not use it - it kept us awake... :(
4.5
The room was clean and tidy. The bed was one of the most comfortables I have stayed in and I slept extremely well.
Facilities were very useful with fridge inside the room and a microwave in the premises.

Location was close to where we needed to be.
Road noise was quite loud at night.
Room was very small

Bed was comfortable. Clean.
Although I booked a large room, there was little room to move. The toilet door didn't fit properly and in need of repair. The plug in the sink didn't drain properly.
No breakfast.

Location great a nice walk into the city and on a bus route
Lighter summer quilt as quilt too heavy for hot weather, a fan in the room would have been nice too

Travelling to Cambridge for a couple of meetings, the single room here was just the job for a simple 2 night stopover. It's room only but there are shops/cafes nearby for coffee and breakfast items. Hosts were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean with restful decor and all its facilites were in good working order. The table fridge was particularly handy. TV was well placed with good reception - good wifi signal too.
Nothing I didn't like.

Very comfortable. Good value - would stay again.

Beds were very comfortable and the lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. There were also towels and toiletries to use which was useful. The fan in the room helped a lot with the heat.
The shower was awkward to operate as you could only use it cold on low pressure or hot on high pressure, there was no in between.
4.5
Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. Quality rooms and beds. Superb breakfast!
3.5
It was cleans and there was a fridge in the room and there was the option of milk and a full English.
I felt watched by the owner and I could hear other guests snoring and talking on their phones at 6am which was not an idea start to the day
