Nothing! Everything was good

Breakfast at The lodge in the vale was very good a lovely selection for a continental breakfast.
The location was great for a base to explore
The room was a little bit snug no where really to put anything especially in the bathroom and with a dog bed on the floor

Staff were great, friendly & helpful.
It was our 3rd visit & the staff have always been fabulous đ
The bathroom was disappointing, the bathroom window was awaiting repair with a sign on not to open or only open 2ins.
The shower was small & the silicone around the tray on the outside was dirty.
The room in general needed a fresh redecoration.
Continental breakfast too expensive, not value for money.

the location was great and easy to find with a good car park with plenty of spaces
it was v v hot in the room - although we were given a fan it would have been better if the room had been aired before we got there

Location was just what we wanted. Not many tourists đ
Didn't realise we had to go to the pub about a Mile away for breakfast...was probably on the terms and conditions but didn't read them đ. Breakfast was not worth the ÂŁ15 each we paid...2 sausage..1 rasher of bacon...blob of beans and scrambled eggs 1 slice of toast! We asked for extra toast and got a slice each! I realise u pay more for popular destinations...but lesson learnt. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for you đ

Staff, pleasant and helpful
Radiator in room rusty and needed a coat of paint. Nothing to drink out of in the room. Prefer soap tablets to gel dispenser. No phone to call reception in room.

Location, clean and good price

The location of this hotel is one of its main excellent points - right by Thirlmere with some beautiful walks on the doorstep, including Helvellyn, Keswick a ten minute drive and Ambleside/Grasmere not far in the other direction. The coffee shop/bar inside is also brilliant, and open til 9pm which is really handy. The staff were absolutely lovely too.
To be honest post covid it's hard to tell what is good value for money as everything is so expensive. And while the location is likely a big part of the price, the room was fairly basic for the price. However, it was very clean and smart.

Location was nice with good views, bed comfortable, staff nice, easy to find. Good value for money.
Light in bathroom flickered , not an issue for us but may be for someone else, so one of us had a shower in the dark haha

The location is great. We had a car but if you didn't there's a bus every hour and they seem to stop at all the decent locations. I liked the fact that the TV lets you log into your Netflix and prime account. The shower was fabulous, proper power shower. Didn't try the breakfast as it seemed rather expensive. We did however buy a packed lunch which was good value. We got given a free upgrade to a larger room which was really nice of them. Our fan in the toilet wasn't working so we let reception know, it got fixed the same day!
There's no outside area to sit or let your dog roam. There were just 2 benches at the very front of the property which is directly at the road.

The rooms are spacious, warm and cosy! 12 min drive from Keswick which is super handy. Bar downstairs to grab a drink. Nice quiet location and friendly staff.
Nothing bad to say about this place.

Lack of gluten free choice for breakfast.

It was lovely and clean, excellent bus links for walks and towns, licensed coffee shop on site and the staff were brilliant, particularly Sarah - all very welcoming and helpful.

Check-in was easy, the hotel was clean and tidy, a good selection of drinks and snacks in the coffee shop and our dogs were very welcome
We had a cooked breakfast at the partner hotel as recommended by the hotel staff but sadly we really didnât enjoy this and definitely didnât see the value of ÂŁ12pp

4.5
Friendly & helpful staff. Great location, especially in walking distance to Helvellyn. Parking easy too. Got a free room upgrade
We were upgraded to a Larger room, however the 'corridor' past the tabletop was narrow, and made especially more narrow by the chair in the 'corridor'
