For anyone who loves Japanese food - the set meals were marvelous! The fish was really fresh, so good.
But if you are vegetarian or vegan one should make the reservation without the set meals or talk with the staff beforehand.
Also one could visit the public onsen with a tattoo
it was hard to drop the temperature in the room with the air conditioner.

The location isn't too bad, as it's a 15-minute walk from Hokone-Yumoto Station. The staff is friendly as well. However, the facilities are not up to par compared to the internet photos. Especially the food, the dinner tasted like it was entirely made with bonito sauce. The rice and grilled fish were okay though. The accommodation was a Japanese-style room, but it had a slight cigarette odor. I could also hear other guests talking at night. I thought it was a ryokan with good value and nice photos on the internet, but I prefer more accurate information. I wanted a better experience, and if I had known about these aspects, I wouldn't have minded spending a bit more.

Very nice accomodation with superb private onsen. The room itself was very simple - Japanese style, but the beds and the blankets! Omg, amazing - I loved sleeping there! Convenient location within walkable distance to the Moto Hakone center. Nice staff, however, spoke english just a very little.

Outstanding experience in the middle of the nature of Hakone. Very kind and helpful staff. Great food and onsen. We highly recommend this Ryokan for an unique Japanese experience

Had a great room and the indoor and outdoor onsen were lovely and peaceful.
The hotel threw out some of our toiletries and medication.

wonderful staff and incredible food

This properly exceeded our expectations. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The rooms comfortable and generous. Modern with a 100 year old twist

A fantastic ryokan experience. We stayed in a traditional room with a beautiful view of the mountains. Both the public and private baths were wonderful, it felt magical to sit in the bath in the cool morning air while listening to the rain. The meals were delicious and presented beautifully and the staff was very helpful.
It was a little difficult to reach - we had to wait in line for 30 minutes to get a taxi at Hakone Yumoto station.

I opted out for dinner and breakfast option and I must say I was blown away with the quality of food, extremely attentive service and the presentation of the food was exceptional. Every staff member at the facility was above and beyond. Extremely satisfied and I would definitely come back if I visit Japan again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! Also try the private bath, Worth every penny! 2200 yen for 45 min and its so peaceful and zen. This place is AMAZING 🤩
You can catch the bus that runs to the Lake Ashi literally right outside too!

Private onsen was really nice and we liked the old style japanese rooms
You have to climb a steep hill to get there :p

Really liked staying in a traditional Japanese hotel, the staff were lovely and helped us transport our luggage.
It was a bit challenging walking from the station to the hotel with our luggage since it was all up hill and we couldn’t get a taxi.

The photo of hotel make me feel like we have private Onsen in unit.

facilities are new, hotel is clean, staff are very friendly and helpful, osen is very comfortable!
The hotel is facing a temple, there is a toilet inside the room, but no shower or bath inside the room.

Location was good (walking distance to the station). The staff were really polite (especially the Vietnamese lady who served our first three meals + provided loads of recommendations for us). Room had great views and a proper ryokan feel. Option to rent the private onsen was nice. Food was really good. Beautiful property.
There are no showers in the room so there was no option to shower unless you paid for private onsen or used the public onsen (which some people may not feel comfortable doing). Lady who served our last dinner wasn't very helpful and our experience wouldn't have been great had we started with her (thankfully the lady we had in our first few meals explained a lot of the food and process to us in advance). Overall, a bit too expensive for what was offered.

Clean room, nice staff!!
if just compare the price and the facility, the price is quite expensive..

Comfortable, clean room with very nice sink area. Staff were very attentive.
The private bath was quite expensive and also smelt strongly of chlorine which was a shame.

I think I like the private onsen the best. It is very relaxing to do early in the morning. The staff immediately responds to my request and they are perfectly accommodating on my needs.
Nothing really much. Probably, it is best if you travel with someone in order to fully enjoy the place and the stay.
