We had an amazing stay at this property. First, Thiago was a great host who was extremely helpful in all facets of the stay. The property is beautiful and really unique- it feels like you have your own Tuscan villa, but are still close to the town of Siena. It's a great compromise between staying in the actual city and in the country. The downside is that there is a decent walk to the town square (about 25 minutes) but it's very doable. There is a nice little grocery store/bar/cafe right down the street from the villa called Nonno Mario's that we got our groceries and breakfast at each day.
The grounds are amazing- two pools, a hot tub right outside the villa, well manicured grounds, and even a tennis court (though that is somewhat in disrepair and probably needs to be resurfaced).
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. It's fantastic!

We had an amazing time in Siena. The villa was a great place to relax after touring Tuscany. Siena with its incredible sites and restaurants were a short walk away. Thiago and his family were gracious and friendly hosts. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Lovely place with magnificent gates entrance. Such an easy walk to the walls of Siena. Great people. 2 couples is a little tight with 2 bathrooms with one being a very tiny bathroom but so clean and accommodating. I think most all accommodations will be limited on space. We traveled a lot with the house being our base so we did not need big bathrooms. Very nice. Thiago was the best best host!!! Very reachable and conscientious.

We (grandma, mom and daughter) had a lovely stay at I Cipressini. The host, Thiago, was excellent in terms of making sure we had what we needed to enjoy our time in Siena. The small villa was clean, beds were comfy and kitchen was well-equipped. Wifi also worked well. The walk into old Siena really is just 15 mins - so convenient (as long as you're up for a fairly steep walk). And the villa was also a great base for exploring the countryside, including beautiful Val d'Orcia, as well as Florence. We loved being surrounded by olive trees, cypresses and views of both Siena and the beautiful countryside. Too cool to use the pool, but it's in a lovely setting. A few small issues: 3d room on main floor is small - but fine for a teenager. Showers are very small - but function well. Tennis court could use a little maintenance - but is just fine for a leisurely afternoon game. Overall, a beautiful place for a family gathering in Tuscany!

We and our friends had a wonderful stay at Villa Le Tortore. If you want Tuscan estate ambiance, but want to be walkable to lovely Siena, this is a great pick. Meticulously clean and the host is an excellent communicator. This villa was professionally renovated, has larger bedrooms than expected and amazing views. It is a great stay.

A beautiful property that offered a peaceful tranquillity just a few hundred yards outside of Siena. Siena can be reached by foot if you have the energy to tackle the steep hill into the city!
Private surroundings where the neighbours are friendly enough to wave whilst respecting your personal space. Exploring the grounds amongst the olive trees was quite an adventure! The villa is clean with traditional furniture and lovely windows that open outward. Thiago is a fantastic host picking us up from the train station, providing a wide variety of drinks and food, organising travel and easy to contact if required. Thank you Thiago, I look forward to returning again!

We arrived a couple hours early and the villa was spotless, with a table of goodies to greet us! We so appreciated this after traveling for a few hours. The villa is a short walk into the charming city. Be aware the walk is hilly and challenging if your health is subpar. There were so many terrific restaurants to visit and they were all very good. Plus a friendly Bottega nearby for cafe and a few graoceries. Sadly, we weren’t able to use the pool as it was rainy the first two days and then it was closed on October 1 for the season. Thiago was kind enough to recommend a cooking class at our villa, which was a fantastic 3 hour experience! Grazie molto!

Great location, pool and Thiago was really helpful. Booking restaurants and giving advice. Was so lucky to be here when the Palio was on, amazing experience and atmosphere. Siena is beautiful and one of the favourite places my family have visited. You can’t go wrong with this villa. Just be prepared to walk up a short steep hill to enter the walled Siena but worth it.

We had a lovely stay here. It is the smaller, quainter guest house on the estate of a beautiful and much bigger house, so some days we heard maintenance work being done on the big house. However, it was so nice to be in walking distance of the center of Siena, and the pool is glorious—big and clean with a killer view. (Note: The pool is a one-minute walk from the house.) We had a problem with the washing machine, but Thiago was very responsive and his father who lives in the big house was very helpful. They can also help book local tours. We so appreciated the air-conditioning, and the generous spread Thiago welcomed us with. Hospitality at its finest. This is a perfect home-base for those looking to spend their days in Siena and neighboring cities/towns.

Fantastic stay at Villa Tortore!
We had a wonderful one week stay at the villa, right from the booking, Thiago was extremely helpful in answering our questions about the property. Check in was smooth and the villa was extremely clean and well appointed upon arrival. Our family of five enjoyed the swimming pool, tennis court, outdoor terrace with bbq and proximity to great shops and restaurants within Siena’s walls. We would strongly recommend this villa for a family vacation in Tuscany!
Ciao!!

Stunning villa
This beautiful villa is walking distance from central Siena. Set in its own well kept grounds, it offers 2 pools and a tennis court complete with equipment to play. Inside is incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owner was extremely helpful from start to finish and we were met with a fantastic array of food and drink on arrival- just what we needed after a long day of travel. This villa would suit families with children of any age or groups of friends looking to chill and explore. I would not hesitate to return!

The Perfect Siena Stay!
I was looking for a place in Siena that could act as a central hub for our adventures in Tuscany. I was attracted to this property because of its location just outside the walls of the city, its attractive location with views of both the city and the countryside, and its privacy.
The villa satisfied all these criteria and so much more. Entering into the gates of the estate after a day in town is like entering an oasis. The pool and tennis court are huge pluses. The internet is excellent, which was good because I had to do a little work during the trip.
Thiago is extremely responsive and thoughtful. He recommended restaurants that were all excellent, and set us up with a private chef for the night when we arrived (highly recommomended if you are travelling from afar).
Staying at La Tortore is a no-brainer if you can get a reservation. We would stay here again in a minute!
Thanks to Thiago and his family for an amazing stay!

Great villa & location
Beautiful villa with a countryside feel, yet just a 15 min walk to the Del Campo and Siena. We really enjoyed the outside patio and ate several meals there, enjoying the views. We also enjoyed resting and visiting with our friends at the pool. Thiago was very helpful and wonderful to work with. He had suggestions for tours and transfers, which we used and were very pleased with. Note, there is 1 bedroom with 1 large double bed and a 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds and 1 bathroom w/ a shower upstairs and there is 1 bedroom with a twin bed downstairs. There is also 1 small bathroom with a shower downstairs.
Thank you so much for a great stay with our friends!

Couldn’t be more perfect!!
My partner and I had an incredible time at Thiago’s place!! The house is so beautiful and close to town which was great as my partner and I were able to walk into the city center every evening with ease. When we arrived there was a spread waiting for us in the kitchen with cheese, meat, wine etc that was such a wonderful touch to begin our stay there. The house was perfect and my partner and I spent many afternoons out on the patio. From the time of my initial booking Thiago was so helpful in providing recommendations for actives, making dinner reservations for us, etc. The tours that we did which he put us in contact with were the highlights of our trip!
I’m addition to all of this Thiago truly helped us when my partner realized he had forgotten his passport (which was very stressful as we were in a whole other part of Italy at this point in our trip) Thiago responded immediately and helped arrange postage of the passport to us.
He truly created a 5 star trip for us and we will definitely be coming back in the future!!:)

Wonderful Villa with beautiful views
We loved our stay, it was clean and had everything we needed for our 10 day stay. We had 4 adults in our group and the bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Our host Thiago was quick to respond with any questions. We enjoyed the quick walk into Siena and plan to stay here again in the future!

The best of two worlds
Fantastic villa which offers the best of two worlds, the vibrant life of beatutiful Siena within a short walk and the tranquillity, view and fresh air of a Tuscan hill rescidence. Don’t get me started on the swimmingpool, we - 2 adults and 2 teenageres - spent hours in and around the large pool playing, relaxing in the sun or enjoying lokal tuscan specialities in the shades of the gazebo.
Thiago and his father Andrea was the perfect hosts, helpful in every situation

Little gem in Siena!!!
Fantastic time in the Carriage house of the Villa at the bottom of the hill to Siena! We had a fantastic time and the house is perfect for the 4 of us. The pool has a stunning view of Tuscan countryside yet we were at the doorstep of Siena, just climb the hill to the Roman Portal and you are inside the walls of Siena. Thiago was brillant and helpful, the house is fully equipped. We even got to cheer on Italy for the Euro cup!!! We will be back again!!!

Perfect / Outstanding!!
This property is amazing. Thiago was amazing! We couldn't have picked a better property to stay at for 7 nights. The Villa is very clean, and well stocked with everything you need, including coffee! Thiago greeted us upon arrival and had cheese, bread, fruit, vegetables, wine, pop and chips waiting for us. We are so grateful for his kindness. The pool is beautiful and serene. Thank you Thiago for being such a wonderful host!!

Fantastic Family Summer Holiday "Home from Home" in Siena
Our family of four (two adults, two teenage daughters) have recently returned from a happy and hot August week staying at Le Tortore on the edge of stunning Siena. After the two hour drive from Pisa airport, we were warmly welcomed by Andrea, Thiago's father, with gifts of tomatoes, cucumbers and aubergines from his vegetable garden as well as a delicious spread of other local treats to get our holiday off to a flying start!
The villa is set on the family's estate, surrounded by olive groves and cypress pine trees, but within 15 minutes walk of the bustling heart of Siena. Inside, the rooms are attractively furnished with antique pieces, and the efficient modern air con in the two bedrooms was much appreciated as the temperature never dropped below 30 degrees all week. The kitchen is well appointed with everything needed for cooking and we all enjoyed sitting outside for meals on the shady terrace area. And what an incredible view from the bathroom! However, it is the stunning private swimming pool that made the holiday for us, with its sweeping views across the Tuscan countryside to the south.
Using Le Tortore as a base, we thoroughly enjoyed walking into Siena, climbing Le Torre Mangia, marvelling at the richly decorated Duomo and exploring the mysterious shaded streets, hung with flags following the second Palio horserace which had taken place just before we arrived. Make sure you try the ice creams - huge, rich and delicious! Thiago also recommended a meal at La Taverna di San Giuseppe and we saved this treat for our last night - the food and atmosphere were truly fabulous, so make sure you book!
We also drove to Florence on two occasions, using the new park and ride at La Costanza on the motorway. The large car park is linked to the city centre by a modern tram service which stops at the central station, just a few minutes walk from all the main sights. We booked in advance to climb Brunelleschi's Duomo dome - an amazing experience and worth the queue - and also to see Michelangelo's statue of David at the Accademia, but beware - the sheer numbers of tourists and the intense summer heat are pretty overpowering !
In the end, the highlight of every day of our week was escaping the crowds and returning to the peace, quiet and beauty of Le Tortore and swimming in the lovely pool. Thank you Thiago and Andrea for our wonderful Sienese holiday - we feel incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in your beautiful "home from home".

Fantastic property, location and people
Our best holiday ever.
The villa, the pool, the tennis court, the facilities, the location, the family who deal with you, the communications and the surroundings are all amazing and perfect.
We could not have been happier with it all. All the positive comments in all the other reviews ring true.
Many thanks Andrea and Thiago!

Perfect Tuscan Villa
We spent 2 weeks here with three teenage boys. The villa is great, the swimming pool fantastic - and the tennis court was well used by the lads. You are a short walk to the centre or Siena and Andrea and Thiago were simply amazing hosts - nothing was too much trouble from booking good local restaurants to arrange supermarket shops for us. Would highly recommmend.

A gem just a stone’s toss from historic Siena
We stayed for a week during the July Palio. Andrea was a gracious host, welcoming us with fresh fruits, wine and other staples upon our arrival. During our stay he offered us fresh cucumbers and plums from his garden. I was expecting a fairly long trek to the gates and walls of Siena and was pleasantly surprised by the proximity. Wonderful little grocery not far away. The pool was so clean and refreshing and very private. Lovely property full of Tuscan charm. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

The absolute best!!!
The only problem we have, is that we are only allowed to rate this property with 5 stars...it is above and beyond!! There is absolutely nothing that could be improved. Thiago was wonderfully communicative: every question answered, every response to our inquiries within hours.
The property itself is beyond words. It is absolutely spectacular. We are a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 grown children) with plenty of room for everyone. We were greeted with a beautiful array of food and wine, the house was impeccable, the grounds so incredibly beautiful, the location perfect (a 5 minute walk to a botega, 15 minute walk to the center of the Piazza il Campo)...there wasn’t a detail overlooked. Thiago arranged for a day-long wine tour for us that was out-of-this-world (Gianmarco, our driver, was the loveliest man). We literally cannot say enough about this stunning property. It has been pure perfection.
One downside...we have to leave. BUT, we will be back!!
Grazie Mille, Thiago!!

Amazing property, very clean, perfect for a family
The property was beautifully clean and we were greeted by a lovely array of local foods to welcome us upon arrival which was a very thoughtful touch. We were shown around the property by the owner who was extremely helpful and very kind. The property is situated in a truly unique location within walking distance of a well-stocked supermarket. The pool is a delight although very deep at one end so be careful with children. The pool is a few minutes walk from the villa but part of the main grounds. The children really liked the remote control gates at the entrance to the property. I would recommend this property without hesitation and would like to thank the owners for their warmth of welcome and helpfulness.

The Villa is lovely and despite the weather we made good use of the pool which is excellent.
The Villa is part of a private estate and is well set back from a road - so nice and quiet but close enough to the city gates of Siena that you can walk.
Although we didn’t request it we were provided food and drink on arrival and our host took time to show us around and make us feel really welcome.

Beautiful Spot in Siena - 4.5 stars
We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Le Tortore. The Villa is impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. Thiago, our host, was helpful and welcoming. We used this home as a home base for our tour of Tuscany. We spent time in Siena, Pisa, Florence, San Gimigiano, and visited local wineries including the highlight Verrazzano. There is not a lot within walking distance but we very much enjoyed the local Bottega (a few minute walk) for morning coffee, groceries and take-out food. We were there too early to enjoy the pool and grounds but it is all lovely. The family chapel adjacent to the home is open for use and is very interesting. The only thing that stopped this from being a 5-star experience was insufficient towels, no kitchen towel/cloth,or toilet paper. This may have been because we were there early in the year. We would stay here again and would recommend it.

Enchanting stay in Siena
My husband and I stayed in Le Tortore and could not have been happier. The house is pristine and very well stocked. The Master bed was very comfortable (it was just the two of us, so we did not use the second room. But would imagine it is just as comfortable). The views from the home are like something in a movie. The grounds of the property are beautiful and the pool is to die for.
We were greeted by Thiago at check in with a lovely welcome gift of cheeses, meats and breads. He checked in regularly to make sure that we had all that we needed.
I did not want to leave this place. Siena is wonderful and the villa is just icing on the cake.
I would very highly recommend this to anyone!
Thank you Andrea and Thiago for your hospitality. We loved our time at your place!

Warm welcome, ambience, comfort, good location
My husband, daughter and I have just spent the most delightful week staying at Villa La Tortore in Siena. We were warmly greeted by Thiago and his father Andre. Their welcome gift of a generous spread of cold meats cheese fruit & wine and basic grocery items was a great start to the holiday. The villa is fully furnished and has every comfort to make it feel like a ‘home from home’. On our relaxing days in between busy touring days we enjoyed sitting outside on the patio in the warm sun or around the pool - it was still a bit too cold to swim. We loved the ambience, the beautiful gardens with spring flowers starting to bloom and tranquillity of the property and highly recommend Villa La Tortore. We will be back!!

Wonderful! Easy walk into Siena. Great drives nearby
We spent 9 nights at the Vill La Totrore. Our host greeted us and spent time giving us directions and advice. It was clean and quiet (there was some construction going on, but we were gone most days and it was not loud power tools or anything). Walk down the drive and 1 short block to the small grocery store, or continue uphill to Siena. We were lucky enough to arrive just before a special Palio, which made the stay special. We say some of the olive harvest on the property. Sadly, the pool was also undergoing repairs, but only one day was warm enough to tempt us anyway. I highly recommend the villa. A great price and a relaxing home away from home.

Beautiful Villa
My friends and I loved our stay at Villa "Le Tortore" during our visit to Siena in Tuscany. When your arrive at the villa there is a gate and a driveway that is lined with cypress trees. The property is gorgeous, clean and well maintained. The pictures of the property are just as they are listed online.
We were greeted by the owner, Andrea, upon our arrival who gave us a tour of the house and garden (Andrea, "Thank You" for the tomatoes from your garden). We were surprised and delighted to see the delicious spread of food (cheese, dry salami, fruit, bread, olive oil and wine) that was presented to us in the kitchen!
I enjoyed waking up to the gorgeous views from the windows throughout the villa! The location was perfect for day trips to surrounding beautiful towns by car or a 15 min. walk to Siena, bus station and a small supermarket.
I would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again!

Loved our accomodation, the wineries and scenery!
We were greeted by Thiago upon our arrival. He was very personable and gave us an overview of the property inside and outside and presented us with a goodie basket which included delicious fresh fruit, vegetables, walnuts, olives, a baguette, cheese and beverages. This was a welcome treat after our day of driving. We were provided with his cell phone number in case we had questions or had any needs that may arise. They provided a notebook at the property that included everything from using the appliances to restaurant recommendations which was used and appreciated. The large private pool was a special treat.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Le Tortore. The property was clean and well maintained. Everything was as advertised and depicted online. We would definitely recommend this property. We loved Siena and the surrounding areas, absolutely picturesque. We would love to come back someday and if we do we will definitely stay here again!

Stunning property with the best of both worlds, near to the centre, but away from it all
We had a wonderful two week stay at the this lovely property in a beautiful setting, very close to the centre of Siena (20 mins walk). The pool was lovely and we also enjoyed playing tennis. The house is beautifully furnished and the kitchen very well equipped. The lovely owners have really thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We were greeted with a selection of meat and cheeses and a bottle of wine - a very nice touch. One night we were left a basket of home grown tomatoes. I was impressed that there was plenty of linen including towels for the house and for swimming. It was so easy to walk into the centre and the short uphill bit made us deserve the delicious food on offer in Siena and gave us some exercise (along with the tennis and swimming). There is plenty to do in the centre - and wonderful to be able to stay late or go in early before the day trippers arrive. It's easy to visit places further afield such as San Gimignano or Florence as well as driving through the lovely countryside of Chianti and finding a Castello to visit before coming across a bustling town to eat gelati whilst surveying yet another view of the Tuscan scenery.

Beautiful place - a 'country' haven just next door to the city of Siena
We had a great stay at 'Le Tortore'. The property is fantastic - a really well-equipped house, beautifully presented and furnished, with the luxury of air-conditioning in the bedrooms which was really welcome. A lovely sitting-out area too (so nice in the morning and evening), a garden for our use, an absolutely gorgeous pool, tennis court if you want it, and stunning views over Siena in one direction and across the Tuscan countryside in the other.
Such an easy walk down the drive and up through the Porta Romana into Siena itself - we thoroughly enjoyed getting out early, exploring Siena in the relative cool of the morning, walking back to the house for lunch, relaxing in the house and pool in the heat, and then back into Siena in the evening to enjoy one of the many lovely places to eat. The Campo at night is fun and lively - so you get to enjoy Siena at the best times of day and night, yet escape to tranquil 'Le Tortore' whenever you want.
For us it was a perfect and very special and unusual combination of exploring a beautiful city and enjoying the space, peace and tranquillity of 'Le Tortore'.
Thank you so much Andrea for all your help throughout our stay - you were such a good host and it was much appreciated.
