Beautiful room with stunning views of Lake Titikaka! Carlos and his family are very friendly, and keep their property very nice and tidy. The glass ceiling in the room and deck provide a unique stargazing experience at night time. Dinner was delicious, I left in the early morning so couldn’t try the breakfast which is available after 7am. Overall a magical stay!

The room itself was beautiful. Big wall-length window giving to the lake Titicaca. A small private terrace with a lovely bed and chairs. The seating area in the room was fantastic. Also, there was a gas heating for the cold nights.
Nevertheless, the overall impression was not that fantastic. We stayed 2 nights as per recommendation of the owners. And we knew that it's an island which per se limits the activities but still, it was subpar. We had a great time, children are small so we took it easy and liked to have a lot of time to play, but yeah, expected something a bit more cultural and cultured (for details, see the negative box).
the other positive is the free hot water - both to drink and in the evening to sleep in the hot bottles for your bed. They keep warm until the morning, it's a nice touch.
We took a ride to open lake (that was paid extra, no problem, agreed in advance) and shown how the straw was collected. Very nice.
Also, every morning there is a boat with supplies stopping by, like a small shop with food and sweets.
First of all, the breakfast. We agreed with one of the owners to have the breakfast at 7am. Nothing was happening at 7:20am, so we found the father-owner and he told us the breakfast is at 8am. Which gives to the second big con (negative) - the communication between the owners. We agreed on something with one of them (i assume it's a father-son?) and the information ends there. There is no information flow between the two. The breakfast, the program, the activities... The list goes on. the breakfast is the standard peruvian fare, an egg, some bread, jam, coffee.
Also, the "culture" program they promised consisted of bringing us to other little islands where local family heads would tell us something about the island (3-5 minutes) and then sell us their stuff. Which we wanted to buy, yes, but a little more of traditions and insight would be nice.
We also wanted to go to a classic totoro boat ride, which they promised but instead they brought us to someone with a yellow plastic ugly boat who overcharged us and it was and ugly tourist rip off. Left a bad taste in our mouth.
In general, the owners are friendly and caring but a bit more care of their island would be welcome (it's rundown and dirty) and a more of a culture, traditions and insight into the life would be welcome, instead of just flashy touristy ripoffs.

I honestly feel so lucky that I decided to stay at this place.
The room is huge with a breathtaking view for sunset and sunrise. It’s completely quite and you feel alone with only nature and ducks around you.
Carlos was such an amazing host, taking the time to explain to me the history of the lake, the culture. I was basically alone with him in the boat having a tour of the island, far from the mass tourism.
If you truly want a one of a kind experience, book here and with no hesitation.
Specially when I heard many people not having a good experience at lake, because they stayed at Puno or a different place. I feel so fortunate that I was able to have a complete opposite experience.
Thank you so much Carlos !

Beautiful lodge in the Uros areas. Carlos did a lot of work to improve the living conditions for guests and the result is just amazing! Comfy bed, room with sunset and sunrise view, calm and relaxing! Carlos and family are lovely people! Well located, only 15 minutes boat ride from Puno port. Staying overnight in Uros, talking to the community here is an unique experience! We highly recommend anyone interested in the culture and history of Peru to stay in Uros!

the property was amazing! Carlos and his family were very friendly. we really felt at home and they helped us with everything (trips, transfers etc.) I would highly recommend this place if you want to visit lake titicaca. he also thought us about their culture and the place itself is really amazing and calm.

The nice view and amazing facilities in our room. There are transfer from private port to lodge. I'm enjoying my tea time at terrace with sunshine. Carols take us to a sunset boat trip and provided a traditional dressed to us. We stay warm at night even outside is very cold.
That's some smell from the toilet, but, i know the limit of that when you living there.

Only had a short stay and wish could have stayed longer. Wonderful experience on a floating island. Very comfortable. Oliver and his wife were excellent hosts. Would recommend to anyone

The most amazing staff. Carlos and his whole family were so incredibly kind and helpful.

We loved the warm and traditional welcome awaiting us on this family island in Uros. Carlos and Mirabel went out of their way to make us feel at home. We liked the food and appreciated multiple duvets on the bed and hot water bottles at nighttime. Carlos and his brother Brandy were informative and knowledgeable about the real life of the Uros people and we still have no idea how Mirabel made such wonderful food in such a tiny kitchen.
There is nothing we didn’t like about our stay, but we would recommend that visitors consider, during the day, in the bright sunshine it can be very hot, and at nighttime, close to the open water and the starry skies, it is freezing! Pack accordingly!

Beautiful property, clean and a gorgeous setting.
only thing, gotta shower fast because the water will run out.

Carlos was an exceptional host. He was very informative about the floating islands and lifestyle of the community as he transferred us to the accommodation. You travel past many of the islands making it a very scenic journey. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable, it exceed our expectations. The food was excellent.

it was basic and very authentic but what an experience, the family were so helpful and lovely
it’s basic so don’t expect luxury

LOVED and LOVED! My kids and I will never be the same after our stay on this floating lodge. This was one of the most unique experiences that I've ever had. My kids really enjoyed this also. I will be telling my friends all about this. I would do this again and again. Carlos put together our transportation to get there. He also booked us a super affordable tour of the lake which took us to Tequila Island and included lunch. It was just the most amazing 2 days ever!
I wish there was wifi and a working toilet, HOWEVER, we are on a lake surrounded by a breathtaking view. I don't think you can even put a working toilet on the floating island. Therefore, I really didn't mind not having it. If I had to do the experience again, I would. . .knowing already what I know.

Very nice experience living on the Uros islands. The accomodation is basic but has everything you need. The host family is outstanding and the trips with Carlos in his boats were great fun for us and our kids. A boat/shop passes by each morning to buy some basic stuff, and dinner (very good)/drinks can be bought (cheap).Gas heating in the room and warm bottles to keep your feet warm in the bed. Dont forget to bring cash!!

We loved staying with Carlos and his family on their island! Incredible views, very quiet! Carlos was so open to Sharing about their customs and history of Uros. Our kids played with their kids. Since it’s winter, it’s a bit cold at night but very comfortable during the day! Their homemade meals were delicious! Highly recommend 2 nights in this very unique & traditional village setting!
Not a negative but know their is no wifi and it’s very quiet.

Unique experience! Hosted by a genuine uros family. Very welcoming and caring.
Just do it!

The family that owns the Uros Tikarani Lodge (Carlos and Maribel Lujano), are kind and hospitable. The Lodge itself was spectacular: comfortable, secure, very well located (nothing matches being on a floating island on Lake Titicaca!), and warm. The food was also a plus. Carlos and Maribel gave us all the information we needed about tours, the lake, and the Uros community.
We liked everything.

this is such a special place! This place is amazing and a must, if you are at lake titicaca, you don’t want to miss this experience. Carlos is really helpful with getting there, organizing tours and and explaining about the life on the floating islands.
the breakfast and the dinner are homemade by his wife and just great! you have hot water, electricity and Wi-Fi on the this floating island. impressing how they make this!

amazing bed, super comfortable and warm blankets for the cold night. considering we were on an island made of reeds, the accommodation was excellent. I had some hot water for showering, electricity and wifi.
wouldn't change a thing. i stayed an extra day i enjoyed myself so much.

Carlos and his family were wonderful. He shared history, culture, hiw the islands are made, and recent struggles with tourism and COVID. The food was authentic and fresh. We were able to purchase some homemade textiles which were beautiful. It was a very relaxing getaway on the floating islands.
4.7
Carlos and his family are amazing. I’d recommend spending a little bit more money to stay at Uros over staying in Puno any time. It is worth every penny and you are helping the local community which is heavily relying on tourism.
4.7
If you want to stay or you should stay on floating island and I recommend this place. Carlos and his family are wonderful people. They are little shy and very honest. It’s good place to relax but still if you want you can get some activities.
Our bungalow was quite spacious with comfy kings bad, single one and couch.
There was gas stove, hot water 24h in priv bathroom and even Wi-Fi.

The location on the lake is spectacular, it’s an experience more than a stay and the family was lovely and welcoming. Great food and a lot of knowledge about the islands and its inhabitants were shared. The cabins are very comfortable and the view can’t be beat.
You sleep on a cold lake, in a cabin on a floating island made of reed. If you only like five star hotels, this isn’t for you. For everyone else: don’t skip this unique experience!

We had an absolutely amazing time at Carlos’ hotel. The room over the lake is pure bliss, the island is splendidly built by Carlos himself, he came to pick us up and drop us every time we needed and took a lot of time to explain the story of the Urus to us. The water is hot at all time and there is a little heating device in the room that allowed us to enjoy our time even when it was freezing at night. The food prepared by Maribel was delicious, both breakfast and dinner. We can’t recommend it enough (and we’re hard to please). Thanks again Carlos!

Experience was amazing. Host gave us a private tour of the lake community and visited several ialands.
Wasn't aware that meals were extra. They were very delicious and well priced, we just would've liked to know ahead of time so we would have cash to pay.

This is not your traditional accommodation. It is a fabulous place to experience the Uros community. Our host Carlos was great, his English was excellent and loved his sharing about the community. Definitely the place to visit for a different kind of experience!

Carlos and their family were great

The experience of spending a night on Titicaca is unparalleled. The beds are warm and comfortable. Carlos, the owner, an authentic local resident, explains everything about living on the lake.
The facility leaves more to be desired. Water ran out before we can take a shower. The 1st gas tank for the heater was empty, the 2nd tank ran out after several minutes of usage.
