What a great experience! Fantastic hotel where the local couple who owns and manages this two room hotel are really great hosts.
Nothing. The place is just perfect.

Juan and his family are amazing. The accommodation is fantastic, quite luxurious for the place and beautifully furnished. Very clean, spacious and cozy. The food is excellent and their hospitality is simply outstanding. Juan, Amalia and the children are open to tourists as if they were friends visiting, we felt home but still treated excellently as guests. For us the best part is the experience that they offer in sharing a day of their routine with us, showing us their culture and customs, taking us around to explore the community and learn about their culture and belief system (extremely inspiring by the way!).
The whole stay and the tours are excellent but the added value is the family’s kindness and openness. I loved meeting them and learning about their life and culture and I couldn’t recommend more to stay there!
nothing - everything was outstanding

I had an outstanding stay with Juan, Amalia and their 3 adorable children. I was greeted by them telling me that they welcomed me into their family as a sister and I honestly felt it. There is no better way to experience the Uros community and enjoy the beauty of Lake Titicaca than to stay in one of the two lodges on Isle Amalia. The facilities are exceptional, including the food, the views are picturesque and peaceful, the sunsets are stunning and the whole experience is truly personal and like nothing else you would experience if you were to do a day trip.
To start with I was picked up by Amalia in a motorboat and taken to their island where I was then greeted by Juan who speaks excellent English and built their island and lodges by himself with the help of his father and brother. I was blown away by the finish inside my lodge, it was truly beautiful. The bed is king size and extremely cosy (made even more cosy by the hot water bottles that they slip into the sheets whilst you eat dinner in the evening), there are two comfortable chairs to sit at and enjoy the morning sun, a desk, a day bed and a chaise lounge, then upstairs there is another day bed under a glass roof where you can enjoy looking at the stars in the evening or watching the sun set. The bathroom has a shower with warm water that is heated by the sun, two toilets, one that flushed for number 1’s and a dry toilet for number 2’s but you will not experience any odour, it was perfect. Outside there is another day bed which is ideal for reading a book in the shade and two outdoor chairs so that you can sit back, watch the wildlife and the day go by. It looks exactly as it does in the photos, and I was honestly blown away by the quality.
The food was delicious, breakfast was my favourite and truly 5*, at lunch and dinner there was always soup, a delicious main and fruit. I ate so well, and I am vegetarian, but from what I saw of the meat dishes these looked excellent also.
N/A - it was perfect

Juan Carlos and Amalia are two of the greatest hosts I’ve met. Their attention to details is visible in all aspects, from the decoration in the room, the meals that are served, their punctuality with transporting us by boat to and from all the different places. The lodge is a wonderful place to stay, both to visit neighboring islands as well as just to sit around and enjoy.
nothing.

Juan and his family were amazing hosts! From the moment we arrived at Amalia, Juan made sure we were comfortable, showed us our rooms and the facilities. The food was so fresh and so good! We talked plenty with Juan and learned about their culture and traditions. Being able to watch the sunset and sunrise at Lake Titikaka was a once in a lifetime experience. I can't say enough good things about this place and our time there, even though it was a short stay it was wonderful. Highly recommend! We visited many places during our trip to Peru and I can say this was the highlight of our trip. Exceeded our expectations!
Nothing, everything was perfect.

Juan, Amalia and their three children (and two cats) were the perfect hosts. Despite us not speaking much Spanish, they made us feel at home and were incredibly accommodating. Juan's short tour round the reed Islands was a particular highlight. The house itself is stunning - Wall to ceiling windows and incredible views. We've been travelling for a few months and this was without doubt one of our favourite places to stay. Thank you Juan, Amalia and family for a wonderful time.

The lodge is beautiful, but the experience was even better. Amalia and Juan have a special place in out hearts now. Everything was amazing, the food too.

Exceptional location in the Uros island. Very attentive hosts Juan and Amalia, they have met us at the jetty and taken us to the hotel on their private boat. Everything was on the top level: fresh flowers, tasty dinner and breakfast in the room, heaters, hot-water bottles in bed.
4.9
Everything! The accommodation, the setup, the view, and finally Juan/his family and the hospitality. It's hard to imagine you're staying on a floating island once you're inside. With floor to ceiling windows, sun room (2nd floor) and an outside lounge area, Juan's place is perfect for a relaxing getaway. Finally, the hospitality - Juan spent a considerable time explaining the Uros culture, what goes into the making of a village/house/boat. We even spent time making handicrafts to take home - a beautiful souvenir.
Room got a bit chilly at night. The primary heating is from an outdoor space heater, but heating packs were provided for the bed.

Our stay was absolutely incredible and unforgettable. Juan and his family were very helpful and friendly at all times. The accommodation was even more beautiful than on pictures. The food was delicious. Juan speaks excellent English and explained many things about the Uros way of life that he and his family have been living for generations. He also helped us organize tours, taxis etc. and even invited us for a ride in a traditional boat with him. This was definitely a once in a lifetime experience for us and we couldn't have chosen a better host for that!

Special place, the room is so well thought out, spatious and has all the comfort. The hosts Juan and Amalia were amazing. The food was very tasty. Juan gave us a tour with a traditional boat and provided a lot of interesting details about the local community.
Only thing is that it gets cold at night however this is no fault of the hosts, it is inherent in a place like this. Juan did everything to ensure we were as comfortable as can be - we had a heater for the evenings and mornings so we were able to enjoy our time in the room. We also had hot water bottles and various layers of blankets for the bed which made it much better. During the day when the sun is up it's actually quite warm in the room.

No words to describe our stay in Amalia Lodge! Juan and Amalia took very good care of us! The view from the house was magnificent. There was always hot water and it was being cleaned every day! The food was delicious and there was always available hot water for tea/coffee. Totally recommend it!

Staying at his floating island lodge with Juan and his wonderful family is truly a unique and amazing experience. Juan taught us all about the Uros people and the famous floating islands. He and his wife prepared us 3 delicious meals a day all made from fresh and local ingredients (the fresh caught trout was a highlight, both as filet and as cerviche). The bed was very comfortable and Juan went out of his way to make sure we were warm during the chilly mornings. We stayed 3 nights giving us two full days in the Uros community. Juan arranged a day tour for us to Taquile Island for one of the days which was also a great experience. We highly recommend Amalia Titicaca Lodge!
