We had a short three night four day Stay that we very much enjoyed. We really love the old and the updates matched well. The neighborhood was also really nice and easy to get around. And having the game room in the basement really made everything enjoyable.

I stayed at the property with girlfriends and our dogs for a girls weekend. The property was clean and had everything that we needed for the weekend (and more). We loved the air hockey and ping pong in the basement. The host was very nice and was easy to get ahold of. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay in Elaine's home. This house was head to toe charm and incredibly clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were fantastically stocked. We used the charming cottage for a girls reading getaway and it did not disappoint!

We felt welcome and had fun visiting Starved Rock. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the lodge so not bad! The kids enjoyed the ice cream place down the street and our senior dog enjoyed the treats that were left for us. Thank you for a lovely time!

We had a great experience with this property. This was my first time renting a home rather than staying in a hotel. I was very pleased. There were three adults and a baby in our group and having a living room to hang out in and a full service kitchen to prepare food in was simply wonderful. The property is very well maintained and delightfully clean!

A really charming, well stocked 3 bedroom 1 & 1/2 bath home. Original wood doors and Moulding, corner cupboards and some wood flooring. Spacious dining and living room and fun basement with air-hockey and ping pong. Well stocked kitchen implements, dishes and cookware. Cozy and wind protected outdoor sitting area for coffee, drinks or reading. Neighborhood parks within walking distance. Great BBQ restaurant and brewery nearby. Only 15 minutes to Starved Rock and great hiking trails. Note that some trails may be closed during hunting season. Overall, we had a great long weekend in LaSalle! A great combination of outdoor activities with indoor games and relaxed reading.

We were very pleased with our stay at The Lindberg. The house was a perfect size for us. It was very comfortable and a perfect location to visit our family who lives across the street. It was very clean. We loved the ping pong table and air hockey table in the basement that we used with our 5 & 9 year old nieces. So much fun!! Thank you we would definitely recommend the Lindberg and plan on visiting it again soon. Thank you!!

Communicated with property manager through the app. Everything was as described. Great central location for state parks, the I and M Canal and other attractions.
The only nits to pick would be the back door sticks and is a little tough to open and the parking in front of the garage was great for my Subaru BRZ, don't know how a Suburban would fair.

Four women friends met up here for a two day get away/ catch up time. We hiked and explored in the park and them enjoyed coming back to this cute house both evenings. We had plenty of room, were able to cook our own dinner both nights and enjoyed the comfy living room in between. It was just great for our needs and exactly as described and pictured. We will certainly use this home again if in the area and highly recommend the Lindberg House.

This cottage home fit our traveling group of 3 perfectly, and we even had more family over for an overnight, which was terrific. The house is clean, well supplied, and in easy walking distance to local parks and eats. We easily also did laundry, cooked, and played games. And the age of the home is charming, thank you Elaine!

The house is older but so cute. Everything was very clean. The code worked great for the door (no key to loose). The neighborhood was quiet and close to restaurants, shopping and activities. We brought our dogs and there were dog treats , a dog toy, poop bags and bowls for us to use. The appliances seemed newer and everything worked great. All communication with the owner was answered quickly. She is super nice. Would stay here again

We've stayed in Elaine's lovely home twice as our base for hiking at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks. We couldn't be happier. Both cozy and well-decorated, Elaine's house had everything we needed to feel right at home. The basement ping-pong and air hockey tables kept our sons occupied for hours. The whole family enjoyed the record player (play Elaine's collection and/or bring your own vinyl) and TV fully connected to all the streaming apps you'd ever want. Suuuper cozy bedrooms! We plan to keep coming back.

This house is so cozy and cute it looks small outside but I quite roomy inside much like my personal home which drew me to it. It’s also got a very homey warm feel. It’s stylish in decor yet the home has all the charm of the past, a brilliant mix in decor. The kitchen is more than adequately stocked with pans knives dishes etc..even had spices and foil. The host were lovely leaving some goodies for us and our dog along with water and food bowl and a toy to play with. Lane and Susan are most gracious hosts. I would also like to mention the linens and towels are very nice and smelled wonderful. Also you’ll find a comfy memory foam mattress in the main bedroom not too soft not too hard. They have really thought of everything. You just cannot find a nice property than one owned by this owner. They went anb and beyond to make us feel at home. I will definitely stay again.

This house was perfect for three of us to stay. It seems to be newly renovated. It has lovely wood and interesting features like beautiful built in nooks. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood. It was very easy to get to Starved Rock and other sights we wanted to see in the area as well as good restaurants. Communication with the property owner was excellent. She was quick to respond. We appreciated the welcoming note and chocolates.

Lovely property, quiet surroundings, plenty of space inside with games tables in the basement. An ice cream, snack bar just a few minutes walk down the road and within a few minutes drive of many restaurants, grocery stores and some fun independent stores to browse. Close to the I&M Canal path which is a great walk or bike ride and only a15 minute drive from Starved Rock Park which has some super walks. Not challenging walks but some great geology and views. Host answered all my questions promptly and the house was clean, well supplied with towels and kitchen essentials. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Great little house that was perfect for our group of 3 adults and 3 children ages 1yr-7yrs. The house was clean and well equipped. The pack and play was very convenient to have already there. I'd stay here again without hesitation.

Memorial Day Weekend at Starved Rock
The Lindbergh was a good size for our group of 7. The kitchen was fully stocked and the dining room large enough for family board games. We also enjoyed the ping pong table in the basement.
The location in LaSalle was perfect. We visited all the canal towns, and two of the state parks. Our ride on the I&M canal boat was cancelled as the mule was sick. That was a big disappointment.
Starved Union distillery offered great drinks at reasonable prices. We also thought the Westclox museum was worth a short visit.

Great Place
We had a very comfortable stay at the Lindberg cottage. House was in very good repair, very clean and very comfortable for us. The house was both well built and well maintained. I think it may be the first VRBO rental I’ve stayed in of this vintage that had doors and latches that actually really closed properly. The neighborhood was really quiet at night which was most appreciated. (Our weather was perfect so did not need HVAC at all which could have contributed to the quiet.) The location worked well for hitting the parks and was easy to get to. The queen beds were very comfortable, didn’t try twins. Typical of a house of this age the bathrooms were on the small side by today’s standards. They were fine, just a bit tighter than we’ve grown used to.
Host communication was fantastic. She recommended getting to the parks early to beat the crowds and she was so right. The first morning we arrived at 9:30 and the place was mobbed. The second morning we arrived just before 8 and had the whole park to ourselves for a good while. All in all, a fine place to stay when visiting the area.

Just like the pictures!
We were so happy to be able to bring our 2 pups with us on our short vacation! Elaine was a great hostess. Everything was clean. Decor was cute. Loved all of the original wood. We had to get used to fewer "grounded" (3 prong) outlets for computers, etc, but we figured it out! Elaine even left a little welcome gift for the dogs. I thought that was very thoughtful! The ping pong in the basement was a hit with my 21 yo son. He'd never played before & now he's hooked! I would definitely rent from this hostess again. All of her properties seem to be very warm, cute, & homey. Great place to stay!! Thanks, Elaine!

Perfect for us
The Lindberg Cottage was exactly what we were looking for on our spring break. It was true to the listing and even more charming in person. We stayed in April 2022 and Twisty Freeze was open for the season. The drives were easy to Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks. The kitchen was nice. The furniture is tasteful and comfortable. The beds were great. There's a lot of natural light throughout the house, and it has a very efficient floorplan, making it seem bigger on the inside than it looks from outside. The listing photos showed a convertible air hockey/ ping pong table, but the host had added a separate full sized ping pong table by the time we stayed. We also took advantage of a complimentary wine tasting over in Utica and that was very nice. Thank you Elaine!
