This beautiful, historic motel in beautiful Adobe-style architecture features a nice outdoor seating area with pool, three associated restaurants (fusion, Asian and Mexican food) and a bar with a good choice of craft beers. There is a large zoo within walking distance, and the view of the Rio Grande from the nearby bridge should not be missed!
It was very disappointing that the Mexican restaurant associated with the El Vado motel already closed at 6:30 p.m. (!!) and the other two half an hour later (!). Plan to find food elsewhere if you arrive after 7 p.m.. The explanation, to us as potential customers, that there "wasn't enough demand to keep them open later" only added insult to injury. No breakfast was offered, either, so we had to settle for an (admittedly nice) bagel from Kaufman's next door. Annoyingly, there was also no WiFi access from one room, but the receptionist commented "some computers just don't connect sometimes". WiFi access from another room was fine. Not good enough!

A really great motel with clean and comfortable rooms, a good bar and outdoor area, and very friendly staff. Good location on route 66 and in walking distance from centre of Albuquerque and from the Paseo Del Bosque walking trail.
Parking can be a bit of a walk from the room, and no breakfast option.

Great location. The motel / room was updated and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed.
The room smelled terrible, like strong cleaner or bug spray. The room was cold when we arrived and had to call desk for instructions to get the heat going. The shower head sprayed needle like streams only, no adjusting and no pressure control. The shower valve is also in the furthest position from the shower door, making it hard to turn on without getting sprayed with cold water. The soap and shampoo dispensers were not working. No breakfast available. Small room.

Great Route 66 place with neon sign, near Old Town
The maids were friendly & helpful.
There was no one at the desk when we arrived at 11:00 pm, after we had let them know we’d be arriving late. The office was locked & there was no note saying why.

The front desk people are very friendly
The room was super tiny, The bathroom was even worse. You practically sat on the toilet paper holder. You have to almost get in the shower to be able to close the bathroom door. Very uncomfortable. We didn't have any housekeeping the time we wore there. We have to ask for fresh linens the first night after coming back from town. The second day we saw housekeeping in the property and assumed we will get service but ones again nothing. The parking lot is a joke. We wore afraid to leave the property because every time we'll come back the parking lot will be full and had to wait for a while to get a spot. I think they share the tiny parking lot with several binesses in the same property. Very desapointed for that kind of price you can stay at much better place and save your self the trouble. I saw the ratings and it looks good but I think some of them are pay reviews.

One of the best hotels I have stayed. Wonderful. Got a suite by the pool. 4 restaurants on the property. Live entertainment. I sat by a fireplace with seating. Everything was great.

Cute as a button with great Route 66 history.
Who designed that shower? Can’t turn it on without being hit by a full spray ice cold water. Very small room ( typical mid century type motor court)

location was nice for old town and during day plenty of choices for shopping and food. very clean..

Very cool retro vibe. The Tap Room was a good amenity.
Could walk to places easily.
Renovation to this property was well done. A very unique experience in a boutique property! Staff was very friendly & helpful.
We were on the side with the restaurants & it smelled a little greasy.

Total vintage & beautifully renovated! loved the tap room! In season, that outdoor patio & pool will be awesome!!! I was there just a little too early in the season to experience that. The close proximity to Old Town is nice!
It’s just a little difficult to find where to pull into the facility to check in. Once we found out the parking outside the event space was for guests, it was fine. The room I had was a little small, but to be expected as the motel us on the historical register & the renovation stays true to the original design. Neither of these items I mention are deal breakers! I really like the place!

The location, the history, the beautiful restoration of a historic landmark, the furnishings were beyond beautiful!!
Was a little dusty and had spider webs in the bathroom

We loved the restoration of the Hotel. Even though it was off season, and we arrived after the food establishments closed, it looks like a cool place just to hang out.
The lobby does not open until 10 am and it would be nice to offer some kind of additional coffee and pastries. It seems Albuquerque does not open up until at least 7 am or later for breakfast. This was a problem leaving town @ 6:30 am. We would stay there again.

We bought bagels and coffee from just across the driveway. Delicious.
We had one hitch in our stay but Joe, at the desk, took care of it quickly to our complete satisfaction!
