Super fint homestay med god beliggenhed lige ud til floden. Vi havde 2 nætter her, hvilket var rigeligt for os. De havde det sødeste personale, der hjalp os med at booke diverse dagsture (vi kan i høj grad anbefale en tur til Ruc Mon grotten, hvis man er til adventure) samt transport til og fra homestay. De tog såvel telefonen kl. 4 om morgenen, da vi var bange for, at vores bus ikke dukkede op (hvilket den gjorde!). Det eneste minus var, at aircondition ikke havde varme, så det var lidt koldt på værelset grundet udetemperaturen. Her var personalet søde til at komme med ekstra tæpper til os.

Staff were lovely, really friendly and helpful. Organised trips, taxis and bus to next destination.

Shower didn’t drain well so bathroom floor was very wet

We loved our stay at Funny Monkeys. You can’t beat the location, hotel is right on the river. The value for the money can’t be beat. The host Moon and Lyly were great and organized a tour for us and motorbike rental ..they were always very friendly and greeted us with a smile! We would definitely stay again.

As others have probably mentioned there is a church next to the property that does service for about 20 mins at 7am over what sounded like a bullhorn and construction next door where the contractor is yelling over a bullhorn, as well.. if you are coming to sleep all day maybe not a good fit but if you plan to be out the door exploring that won’t be that much of an inconvenience. My 3 yr old did manage to sleep through it, which was kind of crazy..this aside we would stay again for the friendly staff and great location.

The homestay was comfortable and the view was amazing. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant and Thuy was an excellent host. We stayed in the family suite, which was large and comfortable.

As others have mentioned, the church next door is very loud. It is currently undergoing renovations and the foreman uses a megaphone all day. I feel bad for the property - they were very apologetic and of course it is out of their control.

The hosts Thuy and Moon are what makes this place special, they reached out to me already shortly after booking to share some information on transport, activities etc. Also during your stay they will do everything to make sure you are having a good time. Room was quite basic but has all you need and what you can expect for the price, also there is a shared terrace on each floor. They have a restaurant with nice views over the river and every meal I had was delicious.

My room did not have a lot of furniture in it - would be great to have some shelf space or a little desk and nightstand just to place some stuff. This one is not the homestay's fault but during the time of my stay (early January 2024) there was quite some noise pollution coming from the church next door as there are construction works ongoing. This started around 6am each morning when they were using speakers to call volunteers to work. But should only be a temporary issue.

Location. Staff - led by Thuy and Moon - were wonderful. Best banana smoothies *ever*!

Our hike had been cancelled due to rain, and they quickly helped us organise another amazing day trip (Ruc Mon Cave - highly reccommend). The view from the shared balcony was lovely. Breakfast was pretty good. Laundry service was fast and great. Organised transport for us to and from the airport. Aircon was a plus.

Using the shower made the entire bathroom very wet. Dinner was lovely but took some time due to short staff.

La stanza standard assegnata non era quella venduta nelle foto, si trovava al piano terra, piccola e con la finestra che da alla reception

La chica que nos recibió se preocupó desde antes de entrar de todo! Fue encantadora, el homestay es cuqui y vistas preciosas al río razón x la cual estuvimos unos días más. La habitación era súper acogedora y el colchón comodisimo! Sin duda 100% recomendado

Lovely riverside homestay. The staff were fantastic and catered to us arriving in the middle of the night, plus were really helpful sorting out activities for us. The room was very comfortable, and amazing value and the on-site restaurant/cafe served delicious food! Highly recommend!

We had to cut short our visit by a day due to illness. The manager insisted on charging 50% of the rent for the second day even though we were aware that he could rent out the rooms we were vacating to another party.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay for a very reasonable price! The staff were brilliant and the food in the restaurant was very good as well! They will happily organise any trips you want to take and you can rent a motorbike directly from them as well which makes life easy! I would highly, highly recommend coming to phong Nha and staying here! It is so peaceful and pretty!

I’m not sure if we were in the wrong room, we booked a Mountain View room but it did not have any Mountain View, the other two rooms next to us did- I think we maybe should’ve been in one of those. Because we checked in a day later and very early in the morning, 5am definitely wasn’t the time to discuss it so we left it.

They did not disappoint. The room was large and with an amazing view of the river. With beautiful views throughout the day, my favorite time to view the river with the mountains in the background was at night. My Phoung was the sweetest and nicest host I've met on my trip. She was so sweet and lovely and told me about all the spots to visit. Very good food and good value for money. Would definitely recommend staying here. All the locals are friendly too!

It was a pleasure for us to stay here. Extremely comfortable beds, huge rooms, jawdropping views and the best restaurant in Phong Nha. We arranged several trips with them and they were all organised to perfection. Please order a food plate here at their restaurant, I promise you won't be disappointed!

Great location, staff were helpful and the view of the mountains is stunning

Bathrooms had an odd smell at times due to the river. The walls are thin so you can hear people breathing in their sleep as well as surrounding neighbors

The property had great views of the rolling hills. The staff were really helpful + dead nice, booked a tour for us and transport back to the train station early morning.

The food wasn’t amazing there are good spots locally that around same price and better. We did our laundry at funny monkey it came back not very fresh.

The views of the Phong Nha caves from the homestay were excellent. The hosts were very welcoming during my stay. Was nice to be able to take a bicycle from the homestay and go exploring. Bed was very comfortable.

The room's cleanliness left a lot to be desired. In one corner next to the bed there was a bunch of dead ants, while the bathroom had cob webs above the door. I understand this is not a hotel but would really expect a higher standard in any accommodation. The location is slightly out of the way and requires a few minutes walk to get to most shops and restaurants.

We had a fantastic stay at Funny Monkeys. We booked the garden view room (101) which looked out more over the reception area so it wasn't super private. That being said it was very spacious and comfortable with air conditioning and a nice warm shower. Phuong and Thuy were wonderful hosts. We ate every meal at the Bella cafe (at the homestay) because we loved the food so much and the view was amazing. Next time I would just pay a little extra and get one of the amazing river view rooms!

We were so happy with the large size of our room and especially enjoyed the comfortable beds and the window seat overlooking the river and all the boats heading to the cave. The staff helped us set up our transportation from Dong Hoi and to Hue at the end of our stay. We also rented motorbikes and used bicycles all arranged by the helpful staff. They did heaps of our laundry at a fair price! We ate at the connected restaurant once and enjoyed a simple meal. The homestay is at one end of Phong Nha but not too far from the other restaurants and Phong Nha dragon boat dock. The AC and fan combo worked very well at cooling down the room. Wifi worked well. They offered filtered water to refill our water bottles.

There were a few critters (ants, geckos) who made their appearance in our room but you are in the middle of the jungle practically! The bathroom was very basic. A lamp or chair would have been nice. They are down to one single kayak which we did not end up using. No in-room fridge but easy to get cold drinks from their restaurant/lobby.

The views here are insane! So so beautiful. It’s worth the stay just for that and the easy access into the water. But I would also stay again for the cheap price and lovely big and clean room even if the views weren’t there! Win win all around highly recommend this place. The staff were also so friendly and helped us book a taxi to the bus station as grab doesn’t really work here. We were also able to rent scooters for a great price!

Beautiful location, you can swim in the river outside.. Serviceminded. Western style breakfast if you prefer.

The staff was great and friendly. After check out they let us use the hammocks and kayak. The room wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was clean and comfy.

The neighbors play some specific songs really loud in the morning and evening. It’s only like three songs but I’m not sure why they are played so loud.
