This is our second time in Caye Caulker and we love biking all over the island and this was the perfect spot to give us some privacy, great pool, and wonderful setup for a family of 4. The twin bed loft was great for the two teenage boys and kitchen had everything we needed (but we ate out every meal as the restaurants on island are the best). We would definitely stay here again - the price, location, accommodations were exactly what we needed and great price!

Me and three teenagers stayed here for 5 days. It was perfect! The air conditioner worked well, location was great and Veronica and Beyoncé at the front desk were awesome! Everyone on staff was super nice and accommodating. The property itself was well stocked. The only thing missing was another mirror. But other than that, everything was great. We rented a golf cart so driving to restaurants and shops was easy. Veronica took care of cart rental, fishing/snorkeling tour and sunset tour. Beyoncé made sure we were all good to go for departure. I would definitely recommend these properties and will return! Thank you! Go slow! Xoxoxo

This is a no frills place, but it worked just fine for our needs. The ladder up to the loft with the 2 twin beds is steep! Just a heads up for those who might have issues with heights or climbing down in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. We would have liked another soft chair or small couch to relax on in the main living room in the evenings as the futon really only comfortably seats 2. We rented bikes (highly recommend) as this place is a little bit of a ways from downtown to walk on a hot day.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The island is wonderful. Definitely would recommend a vacation here!

We had a great time at the Hidden Gem. Not having been to Belize in the past, safety and standards were a concern. All that went out the window when we landed in CC. A Velento staff member met us at the airport to show us to our rental. The rental was very homey and impeccably clean. It had all the essentials. We truly enjoyed our stay here. The pool was very refreshing. We dearly loved our time at the Hidden Gem. The staff at Velento Rentals were over the top amazing, always ready to help in anyway they could. Book the Hidden Gem, you won't be sorry. Oh! Rent the bikes too. They made our trip much more enjoyable.

The Hidden Gem was perfect for our party of 4. Had all the necessities for us to be able to fix breakfast and cook a few dinners of the fish we caught. If you fly in, very convienent for airport. The services were prompt, never had to request water, if we put out empty container, it was immediately replaced. The office help was great in getting me a golf cart. We had a few glitches with a/c unit and hot water heater, but as soon as it was mentioned, the issues were taken care of immediately. Will definitely stay again and we would highly recommend

The property was lovely! All the comforts in a great location…felt safe and clean and quiet! A beautiful pool and deck, a short walk to anything you’d need, a lovely dock for resting by the ocean and helpful friendly staff!

We would highly recommend staying at this property and any of the Valento Rental properties. We were upgraded to a different house on the property due to a hot water tank issue so we can not speak directly about the Hidden Gem house but can say that the management group and staff who work on the property are absolutely amazing! From coordinating golf cart taxi's to the property (which is highly recommended on first day when arriving with luggage), to the easy rental of bicycles and free use of paddle boards and kayaks. The property and pool areas are extremely clean and the dock out to the water is lovely. We recommend renting bikes for at least a day as it makes it very quick and easy to get around the whole island and explore. It is about a 20 minute walk to the split but there are grocery stores and restaurants closer to the house. We highly recommend Elba's little kitchen a few blocks from the house, Reina's and eating fry jacks at Errolyn's.

The house was as pictured and described. Clean. No issues. Staff there is very helpful with any needs or questions you have. Just ask, and they will book it for you! There are several other Velento properties there, and all are well maintained. Can't go wrong with any of them. They were VERY helpful well before the trip as well to make our arrival easy. Taxi was waiting for us, and golf cart was waiting at the house. ZERO complaints, and ready to go back! I would suggest a golf cart rental from this location. It's walkable and bikeable, but the Golf Cart was great!

When we first arrived to the Hidden Gem, we were skeptical because it was HOT when we walked in. We were assured that it would cool down, which it did, but it took a while. The ladder to the loft is pretty steep, so maybe take that into account. It wasn't an issue for us. The place was clean, and everything was provided for us. This was such a plus and doesn't happen everywhere on the islands! It's a bit far away from the main road, so I would definitely recommend some sort of transportation, other than walking. The pool was lovely, and the staff was very friendly.

We were pleased with the seamless transition from arrival on the water taxi to our residence via taxi arranged by property management. We were greeted by Victoria who was very friendly and gave us instructions for using the property. We also rented bikes from the property, which proved to be a good call for getting around the island. We easily arranged for a snorkeling tour through the property management. The tour also provided us a taxi service in the morning to the departure location. The property was clean upon our arrival and the exterior patios and decks were swept daily by staff. We only had one small toilet plumbing clog that was readily remedy by the staff. We took advantage of the close proximity to the airport for our departure off the island. We enjoyed our accommodations immensely would recommend them to anyone looking for a quiet, private location to enjoy Caye Caulker.

Tim & Debbie were great. The property is fun with a shared pool right outside the cabana. It is a short walk to their oceanfront property. The way the island is set up it's fine for a short walk to the beach instead of the beachfront I didn't feel like we missed out at all. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jiani and Beyonce are awesome concierges, definetly recommend Gerald & Gerald Tours for the snorkeling.
I can not really think of anything they could do better.

We were happy to be able to just walk from the little airport to H.Gem. It was clean and comfortable. The bed and shower are very nice. The staff were all super nice and helpful. The pool is beautiful. I felt so comfortable here and I liked the location away from town a bit. We biked and walked all over the island.

Assez loin de tout, nécessité de marcher 30 min ou de louer des vélos. Compte tenu de la localisation de la maison, les vélos devraient être mis à disposition gratuitement.Attention à l'escalier qui mène à la mezzanine, il est très raide (dangereux pour les petits enfants). Pas de vraie seconde chambre. Pas d'extérieur pour manger.

Easy to cook, quiet dock and private pool, flower lined path under palms and graceful trees. 1st hotel in 20 countries not supplying shampoo, and loud pumps by bedroom, but hand soap and fold down couch worked fine. We had an amazing time at Hidden Gem! We travelled straight to Caye Caulker from Canada and were exhausted when we arrived. It was nice to have such a clean, beautiful place to relax in. My husband and two kids (ages 9 & 11) loved it too. The pool is beautiful and was a huge bonus for the kiddos. The house itself is in a nice quiet area of town really close to the airport (3 min walk) but there are no flights at night so noise was not an issue. It is about a 10-15 min to “town” but we found it nice to be a little removed from the action. The staff at Palmetto (property management) are awesome and super helpful with everything we needed. The beach and office is just a 3 min walk from the guesthouse. We would definitely stay here again!

This little cabana truly is a hidden gem. We traveled with our young adult kids, and everyone was comfortable and content. The mini-split air conditioners kept the entire place cool, even when set to around 74 or 76 F. The kitchen was more than adequate for meal prep. We would stay again!

The Hidden Gem Cabana was perfect for our first stay in Belize. My husband and I traveled with our two young adult kids, and they were very comfortable in the loft. Property management made extra sure that we had everything we needed. We arrived before check-in, so the crew took our belongings inside the cabana for us (they weren't done cleaning), and Don, with the property management team, personally shuttled us into town to find a restaurant and transportation. The property owners were also responsive and communicative. Overall, a great place and a great stay.

Perfect for our crew!
Honestly we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Hidden Gem Cabana. The pictures don't really do it justice- it's beautiful. Kitchen was large and had everything we needed. The AC worked great and the beds were comfortable. I was slightly concerned about my kids (8 & 10) on the ladder to their loft but they were fine. We were there with another family who rented the Seahorse cabana and it was so fun to share the pool and have our separate houses. We never used bikes or golf cart taxis because we're used to walking a lot, but beware that the mosquitos around the house are HORRIBLE during the rainy season. We couldn't really hang around the pool and we had to run down the street. I'm told it was worse when we were there due to a big storm and that our area of the island is the buggiest, but I figured it was worth mentioning.
