The bed was comfortable and room was clean
The showers had black mould on floor and the seals in bathroom black mould too
Our room had one window no air conditioning and we were given a fan which we had to run all night as room was overbearingly hot even with it running
We could not open the window at night due to the noise from party goers and traffic on high street then noise at 6:00 am from street cleaners and rubbish being collected
The corridors were cooler than all of the rooms we booked and it was not even hot outside
There was vomit outside the hotel door
Our room was tiny in comparison to the single occupancy room and the other room we booked - we had reserved 3 rooms

Breakfast and evening meal were good and service friendly and efficient
Neighbourhood pub was loud until late with live band. Woke up at 5am by loud noise of market stalls being loaded up for fish market.

Great upgrade to a bigger room - with bath & shower
Being on the first floor at the back - a lot of noice in the day with works on the new square and in the evening the bars

The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The staff was insanely helpful. My reservation was messed up and they helped me figure out and upgraded my room.
Parking was not ideal. There is a parking around the back side of the main hotel but don’t bother pulling over anywhere along high street. There are cameras and you will get a ticket…

Close to wedding venue and clean
It was extremely noisy was woken up most of the night by screaming and shouting from outside

Central location though very noise bars with people screaming ruined the vibe, but that’s not to hotel’s fault. Room had a good size, good shower. Great bed!
No reception you need to cross the street into another hotel that make you feel you’re not that welcomed there… Electric keys didn’t work had to cross the street back to get them fixed… rooms felt like 38 C degrees, boiling and no receptionist to send an engineer to fix that so none of us slept well… sadly as the bed was great!

99% was good.
Only two things but the first, lack of shower gel and shampoo didn’t make for a good start to our day. The other was outwith your remit- the street outside had several noisy arguments until 2am.

Good location
TV could not be controlled so had to move room as it was stuck in on position. 2nd room, TV remote was struggling to work. Some of furnishings look a bit tired/scuffed. Lighting poor around mirror

The room size was very good so was the location as I could not hear any noise from the road. It was a disabled accessibility room with more room so I expected it to be quieter. The cleanliness was good.
I do like a bath in my room, but then I booked very late so I was very pleasantly surprised with what I did get, however, I was a little upset when I returned from being out on the Sunday morning, I’ve noticed that my sure deodorant was missing after my room had been cleaned, and had to go and buy a new one.

Good situation in town centre room reasonably comfortable.
No hot water for shower . Car park was a scam. Required to put in car details within a short time limit using mobile phone but app kept timing out as you were entering long card number in poor light resulting in exceeding time limit. Despite receiving confirmation that charge had been taken still incurred £100 charge because it was over time limit.

Good location for going shopping, or doing some sightseeing, a good size room, good decor 
The room stink of cigarette smoke, more predominant in the bathroom. The previous occupants must’ve been blowing into the air vent extractor. But it was in all the textiles you had to be in the room for more than five minutes to notice this the fan was a good size as the room was quite warm, that was about it. It was so noisy as an army helicopter chinook, passing overhead. Making it impossible to sleep.

It was modern, clean & centrally located. The breakfast and bar at The George were great.
Although the hotel had double glazing, it didn’t block out any of the street noise. We were kept up throughout the night with the sound of music, and people shouting in the street.

Fantastic location, rooms were a really good size, beds were comfy too. We didn't hear any noise from the rooms around us and didnt hear any noise from outside either. Hotel was nice and clean, close to pubs, shops and restaurants and the beautiful castle.
Rooms were way way too hot, a small fan was provided but didn't do much to help. Definitely would benefit from air conditioning.

The bed was super comfortable, cleanliness was excellent, really easy access to town and shopping and beautiful Colchester Castle park.
There wasn't a small bar fridge in the room. It would have been nice to have laundry service, especially for the longer stay. It was very noisy at night , even with the sound proofing. Air conditioning would have been good, it was really hot in the room.

nice and clean.
right opposite slug and lettuce which was partying until 4am and then the party moved into the hotel. staff did not respond. also arrived and had to check into a beautiful hotel to be shown accross the road. would have much rather stayed at the hotel but this wasn’t well advertised. you drive past the parking and have to do a 10 min loop round the one way system! breakfast was awful. sausages were disgusting.

far too hot in the room even trying to turn heat down and you can’t open windows as the street noise is very loud

price for the room, too high for what you get. stayed in hotels in better location, breakfast included and cleaner for less. standards have dropped since the last time I used to be a regular customer and doubt I’ll come back
