If your staying in San Pedro then Jamie house is where to be. We felt so welcomed with Jaime, and son and his friends. They treated us like we knew each other. The location was perfect, with the views and restaurants all along the street. Everything was a good walking distance from eachother, but Jamie does rent out his golf cart which is the best thing to do. Jamie even picked us up and dropped us off at the water taxi. We loved everything and everyone at this location. It was such a good vibe. Not to mention there a bar next door with super friendly people. We will see you again soon Jamie.

First, Jose was an exceptional, responsive host. He picked us up at the ferry dock, arranged a golf cart and arranged snorkeling tours for us. The property was central and had everything we needed. Good for families. We really weren’t there much, because there’s so much to do. We love Belize and the friendly people and we hope to come back soon!

The location is incredible. Just north of town and right by many docks with great places to play and relax.
Jose is very friendly, kind and helpful. He picked us up at the water taxi, and dropped us off when it was sadly time to leave.
The front porch
And courtyard on the beach were amazing, and he has dogs that we adored.
Great spot, simple and just what we wanted.

Great place, ocean front with a pleasant patio to sit outside and enjoy the breeze! Close to town, restaurants and anything you could need. Well equipped with new mini split a/c units, water machine and nice kitchen. Reach out to the host, before check in. He will come collect you and make sure you are checked in! I would stay again!

Jose and Jaimie took excellent care of us at their House by the Beach. Jose met us at the airport in San Pedro even though we were later than expected and made sure that we got back to the San Pedro airport when we were leaving. Jose got us a golfcart for the day when we went to Secret Beach. Just very accommodating at every turn. Jaimie was looking to get us out snorkeling, but the weather and wind did not cooperate, but he gave us valuable information regarding San Pedro, Belize, the weather. We had a great time staying at their property.

Looking for a close place to town to spend the night and this place was a perfect fit. Would definitely recommend if you want to be close to beachfront restaurants and stores.

We stayed for two weeks with my family, and really enjoyed our vacation at José's apartment. He has been an excellent host and helped us with everything and gave us very good recommendations regarding diving, tours and restaurants. The apartment was very clean and had everything you needed. The neighborhood is very nice, and you're in walking distance to almost everything. For everything else we used the golf cart we rented from José. We had a wonderful time and would stay here again when coming back. Thank you, José!

Our host met us and guided us to where we could park. He showed us around the house and gave us great food recommendations. Very communicative and fast to respond! Our host and his family went above and beyond to give us the best stay and experience ever on San Pedro. The house is nice and comfortable and in a great location! Great restaurants and bars next door. The water is steps form your front porch. We will definitely stay here again when we return and recommend them to our family/friends

Host was great! Perfect spot for a family with kids. Host helped with everything about the island.

The photos on the site were not complete. There was an old washing machine and a/c units on the front porch, as well as multiple buckets, beer bottles, and coolers in the yard. The outdoor furniture was cracked, and cushions were missing or stained. The paint (inside and out) was dirty, my kids made comments like “and now you have tetanus,” when touching the gate latch. Towels and bedsheets are stained, dingy, and worn. The neighbor to the rear was doing construction every night after sunset (power tools loud enough we couldn’t hear each other speak), and the music from the bar on the beach was loud and thumping past my bedtime (we walked over to pick up a late dinner, and there were only a few people in the restaurant/bar).
Jaime offered to arrange a golf cart rental for me, and a snorkeling trip. He charged me $15 per day more than my friend paid for a nicer, newer, CLEANER golf cart, plus mine didn’t have gas. Our snorkeling trip was ok, but when I spoke with others, they experienced THE BEST snorkeling they’ve ever had. Turns out Jaime’s son (who runs the boat tour) didn’t take us to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, we went to a different spot. We were also told it was a four hour trip, and we were gone 2.5 hours total. Plus it was supposed to be private, and the first mate brought his girlfriend along. I didn’t want my kids to know the difference between what they experienced and what I expected (they were impressed, as they are not as well traveled as I), so I held my tongue. I had read a review recommending to book snorkeling elsewhere, I wish I had done so. Jaime pushed his agenda and help on me, and I regret it.
We stayed at a different vacation rental (run by Vacasa) after we left Casa Magdaluz, and it felt luxurious in the cleanliness, the plush white towels, and lack of trash/ clutter.

The single bedroom faces East and gets the most beautiful sunrises. This place is exactly as listed. Could use more updates but is perfect for the ease of access to bars, restaurants, and nightlife. Jamie was a wonderful host and very accommodating. Being that it’s in the center of everything, you only need a golf cart when going to Secret Beach- 40 minute bumpy ride or further south.
We were able to charter a boat from Jamie’s son which was convenient for private snorkeling and directly supports the community.
Overall a great stay and I will return.

Perfect place in paradise!
Mr. Jaime’s house was simply perfect! It’s exactly as it looks pictured online and has everything you need. The location is perfect - close to all the bars, restaurants, excursions, etc. Mr Jaime took care of everything for us from arranging transfers to Ambergris Caye and booking excursions. His family is so very sweet. Added bonus, you get to love on their 3 sweet puppies!

Good place, good owner
Great location to walk to everything you need.

Jose and his family made us feel very welcome. Everything from meeting us at the airport, renting us a golf cart, and providing an amazing place on the water.
Everything is close by and easily accessible by a golf cart. We enjoyed scuba diving with Chuck and Robbie's that is a short 5 minute walk down the beach, eating at 303 Belize restaurant and bar (10 min ride north - we passed several places to eat to get there because the food was that good), shopping in San Pedro, and taking a 20 minute ride by cart to get to Secret Beach for some time in the sand and the water.

Jaime picked us up at the airport and dropped us off which was very helpful. Location was great, very centrally located. Property was a little dated but overall good value.

Nice location, close to all what you need on vacation - food, water, stores. Every morning we enjoyed our coffee and tea sitting on the patio and watching pelicans and magical ocean. I will miss it a lot.

Fantastic Stay
Jaime's place is absolutely fantastic - Jaime is extremely helpful and kind and the place is spotless. The house is in a great location - walking distance to pretty much everywhere you need to go and right on the beach. We will definitely be returning!

perfect place and location
Very kind, helpful homeowner. He was helpful months before even coming and responds to questions very promptly. His son took us on an AMAZING excursion. House is simple, clean and right on the beach. Strongly recommend this for vacation!!

Great location. Nice owners and their son took us snorkeling on two occasions and did a great job,.

Pros-AC is great and kept us cool.Location - right on the beach and easy to walk to everything.Jaime can help with excursions with his son. We did go out on a snorkeling tour with him and his boat captain Danny and just the two of us. Really nice experience and I would recommend it. The other snorkel tour we ended up going on with another company (more on this later) was also really great. Check around for the best prices as this last one ended up being half of what Jaime had quoted me for the same tour. There is a washer-dryer available and that's nice.Filtered water too.Jaime will pick you up and drop you off at the apartment with his golf cart.Cons- The place could use a serious update. The towels are bare and rough. The refrigerator went out on our last night and all of our food went bad. The toilet paper holder came off the wall, things like that.Jaime does not take credit cards for the excursions he organizes which we found out AFTER we had taken the snorkeling tour with his son. This turned out to be really frustrating and time-consuming as we had to scramble to get cash from the ATM and had to cancel the second excursion we had planned with him since we were now out of cash. Fortunately, we were able to find another company (that took credit cards) last minute to take us out the next day.The internet is spotty at best which can be frustrating if you are trying to watch something (no smart TV) in the evening after a full day. Or you want to keep in touch with loved ones back home. The apartment is below Jaime's place so you can hear people walking around, sometimes until very late. If you're a light sleeper this can be an issue. My son and I had a nice stay here but don't expect anything fancy.

I stayed at this property 7/16-23rd.A few things up front:1) The pictures are reasonably accurate, although the beds and bathroom weren’t nearly as fancy or new as they may appear in the photos. I suspect the photos are simply older and haven’t been updated.2) Water pressure is universally low in San Pedro, although I will be commenting on this later in the review.PROS:- Central Location: It’s in the middle of the beach, taking less than 5-10 minutes to walk to restaurants/bars; and about 10-15 minutes to walk to central San Pedro.- Shared dock for rapid access to boats for pier pickup (for diving trips) or just hanging out.- Air conditioning: All three rooms had a separate AC unit. Each room also had a ceiling fan unit.- Amenities on site: laundry and drying, and major kitchen appliances were on site and worked. A water cooler for drinking water was also in the unit, and had both hot and cold water taps.- Jose Jaime (and family) was extremely responsive and fairly quick to get issues addressed as needed. They were quite friendly and very gracious hosts!CONS:- Shared dock is “shared” as long as Ocean Tides hotel didn’t care. Ocean Tides (next door) controls/owns the dock, and allows general use during the day. After 5pm, a guard is posted and it’s impossible to use the dock.- Water on site: there’s no hot water. It’s not freezing cold water, just tepid. Imagine a glorified camp shower. It’s not cold – possibly brisk if you’re coming back from a dive, but if that’s good for you after a hot day, then great! The water cooler was stocked with one half-full bottle on the unit and a full bottle next to it. No other spare bottles were available, and an additional one had to be requested.- Ants were present in the unit and while they weren’t a big deal, it was definitely surprising that there so many and fairly pervasive in the kitchen. There were multiple points they were entering the kitchen from, but it meant that all food had to be stored in the fridge (though not necessarily a bad thing) regardless of whether it needed it or not.- Stocked amenities: we expected to need a grocery run first thing on arrival, and that was the case – however we were surprised by the lack of TP and paper towels in the unit. - AC unit leaked a ton of water. The unit in the single bed room dripped water every evening if the AC unit was running for more than two hours.Overall, the stay was incredibly nice and worth the money paid.

Beautiful Belize
The house was cute and cozy. It was clean and Jose was always available if we needed him. He help arrange a ride for us from the airport and get tickets for the water taxi. In addition he arranged a golf cart rental. The best part was the affordable excursions with his son (Snorkeling and fishing)! It was truly a wonderful experience to see beautiful Belize!

Terrific Host!
Jose is a great host and helped us have a great stay in San Pedro. We loved our location and easy access to everything.

Fantastic, easy, super helpful!
We were blown away by this place! The accommodations are close to everything you’d want to get to and you have a great view just sitting on the porch. Great size for a 2 bedroom and had everything we could have needed but in all honesty we used it for sleeping! What really sets this place apart is Jaime and his family- the most helpful hosts we have ever had. This was our third time to San Pedro and we brought a friend who hasn’t had the opportunity to travel much and we were all quite impressed with the hospitality and friendliness we received. We had trouble with our flight from the states getting delayed and he was able to work with us arriving hours later then expected and got us on a plane instead of the ferry to make up some of the lost time- just above and beyond. He helped us get the golf cart for a day as well as set up a snorkeling trip right off of his dock that was fantastic. We WILL stay there again. He set the bar REALLY high for other hosts. 1000% satisfied and happy!!!

Excellent location, Excellent property, Excellent Host
Loved the country of Belize, loved Sandy Toes bar & restaurant just to the left out the back door that has a name that says it all, loved the diving, and loved the host who went above and beyond to help make our stay comfortable, helped coordinate activities, in general was a pleasure to deal with.

Ambergris Caye, Belize
What an amazing experience! Our host Jamie was so attentive to all of our needs. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The place was just beautiful! Literally right on the water. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed excursions almost everyday which Jamie helped us set up and had no disappointments. His son Jamie Jr. took us on several snorkel trips and one all day boating/snorkeling adventure with an amazing lunch he cooked for us on the beach. The corals and bounty of bright colored fish were the best any of us had ever seen. We are four Alaska woman who have taken winter trips for many years and this has slipped into first place as the best trip! The island and its people are beautiful. Lots to see and do, amazing food. And really the thing that pushed it to the top was the hospitality that Jamie and his family provided. You all are the best! Hope to see you next year. Cheers!

Perfect beachfront property
We loved Jaime and Jamie Jr. AND the property. It is a the perfect beachfront cottage. Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time there.

Quaint little spot with great access to all San Pedro has to offer
The owner and his family were awesome!
We will be back next year!

Wonderful experience for my family!
THANK YOU JAMIE! We were treated with nothing but the best service and accommodations. We had no problems with anything in relation to the house. Everything worked very well. Jamie went above and beyond to help us get to and from the ferry and other places in town while we were there. He would pass by regularly and make sure everything was going well for us. He has many valuable resources when it comes to getting around in San Pedro and on the mainland as well. He was helpful in getting us items that we wanted while we were staying there as well. The highlight of our trip was our fishing/snorkeling excursion that Jamie's son, (who is also Jamie), gave us. I would highly recommend that excursion for families, as well as couples who would want to go out and hook up on fish and enjoy them on a quiet, private beach lunch. (Not to mention the amazing snorkeling). His cooking is phenomenal as well! I hope we can return to stay with Jamie again, and knowing now his level of hospitality, we probably will. Can't say enough good things about our stay, so THANK YOU again Jamie!
4.7
We loved it!!!
Jaime was a wonderful, accommodating host! I can't say enough nice things about him. We always had everything we needed, and he went above and beyond expectations. Jaime helped us coordinate taxis, boat rides, and even helped us arrange our wedding here. The list goes on! If you are thinking about booking here, DO IT! It was an excellent stay. Clean with amenities, and plenty of room for our family of 6. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future. And of course, the atmosphere of Belize is both exciting and beautiful. This location is very near everywhere you could want to go, and better, right in front of the ocean. We absolutely loved it here. Thank you for everything, Jaime!!!
4.7
Amazing place, amazing host!
Everything you could ever need to be comfortable on your stay is available at this location. Jamie was such a help for anything we needed including fishing and excursions. We went for more of a local feel with regular trips to the bakery, fry Jack's for breakfast, and finding burrito stands for supper. Location is a short walk to downtown and a stumble to beach bars. The house itself is immaculate and the air-conditioning allows for restful nights of sleep.
Would highly recommend the excursions Jamie offers including fishing with his dad and the amazing day of fishing, bbq, and snorkeling with his son jr.
I know this place books quickly but if you have the opportunity to stay here, do not hesitate!!!
4.7
Awesome beachside location
Our group has a great time at Jamie's beach house. He was there to meet us at the boat dock when we arrived on the water taxi and took us on a quick of the town on the way to the house and pointed out all of the best restaurants and important stops. The house was a quick 10 minute walk from the Central Park, main attractions and guided tours. The A/C and wifi worked great and came into handy as it's very hot in Belize. The water pressure wasn't that good but considering it's where we were it was good enough.
Our group would certainly come back to Jamie's place.
