The house is immaculate, clean and very well equipped. The garden was lovely to sit in and enjoy the sunshine.It was very handy having your own parking space at the house. We were down visiting our son and the house was in an ideal location for us, walking distance to shops, pubs and the railway station. The very generous welcome basket was much appreciated after a very long drive. We wish we could of stayed longer! Hope to be back in the future.

The property was well presented and clean, warm, comfortable and very quiet. The location was excellent with bus and train within walking distance and ample parking. There were supermarkets, restaurants and the village shops within walking distance. The kitchen was well equipped for self catering with all equipment in working order. The owners were friendly and accommodating and responsive to any questions we had. We really enjoyed our stay in Great Shelford and would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others.

Birthday celebration with family. We were delighted with this well equipped house. Very clean, with thoughtful touches like the welcome hamper. Quiet location but very good local shops etc and great for transport into Cambridge.

There were 5 of us in total. There is plenty of room in the property & a great sized garden for the warmer months. The house has everything that you could possibly need for a stay.

A beautiful, clean, comfortable well equipped holiday home in a great spot. Communication with Elise was great and we really appreciated the welcome pack of essentials. The house is steps from several pubs (which we tried) and a really great wine bar. There is also a couple of mini supermarkets and a great deli and bakery. Which we also made good use of! As two adult couples we had a great time. Thanks for having us.

Hard to find fault with this property which is spacious and comfortable. Would highly recommend and certainly happy to return should we find ourselves visiting Cambridge again.

We had such a great relaxing time at this beautifully comfortable, spacious and immaculate home in the picturesque village of Great Shelford. The location is superb, a few minutes walk from local shops, cafes, pub and restaurants and everyone we met was so friendly. Also a pretty walk along Jenny's Path next to a farm. Quintessential English village with beautiful quirky thatched houses everywhere. Elise the owner was so friendly and paid such lively kind attention to detail, making our stay so pleasurable. We had the best time staying at this house for our sons wedding. The host is extremely friendly and welcomed us when we arrived. The house is brilliant and had everything you could wish for. We would thoroughly recommend if visiting Cambridge and surrounding areas.

The house is exactly like the pictures. It is spotlessly clean. The host has anticipated her guests every need. We were welcomed in person by the host and given a tour. Essentials were all in the house - coffee, tea, white towels, bathroom essentials. It all made a super relaxing stay. Great Shelford is a quaint, picturesque village with excellent amenities. Pubs, bakers beautiful houses, countryside and a lovely children’s play park. All a stones throw from Cambridge.

A ‘home from home’ in lovely Great Shelford with a kind host, helped to make a brief stay in Cambridge for an important appointment much more bearable and I would recommend it as a fantastic base for anyone planning to visit Cambridge for work, holiday or anything else.

A beautiful, superbly equipped & furnished property got my wife's birthday weekend off to a great start. Lovely welcome from Elise and a great 'Welcome' pack in the kitchen. Ideally situated; 5 mins from the Park & Ride for Cambridge, friendly pub 100 metres down the road. and good selection of restaurants within 5-10 mins walk. A real home-from-home, best property we've stayed in. Thanks Elise :)

Beautiful house with everything you could want. We have stayed in many properties, and this was by far the best equipped, with plenty of utensils, crockery, glasses etc. All the furniture and fittings were lovely.
Unfortunately one of our family ended up in hospital, but Elise couldn't have been more helpful and sympathetic.
Would thoroughly recommend this property, and would love to stay again.

3 of us stayed in this great house for 2 nights. We loved how thoughtful the host was in providing things around the house such as milk, butter, slippers, etc. We also appreciate how well decorated the house was. The only issue was that our taxi drivers got lost trying to find the house each morning because of the address, but that was a minor issue. If you're looking for a nice place to stay in while visiting Cambridge or the surrounding areas, myself and my friends all highly recommend this place!

Great accommodation
The accommodation was very well equipped, clean and hospitable. The welcome pack and the toiletries in the bathrooms was very thoughtful and kind. However, both showers needed attention and repair.
Altogether very enjoyable stay and quite easy commute to the attractions.

An enjoyable stay enhanced by the property, the village and the location. Great Shelford makes one think of the TV programmes relating to Miss Marple and the mysteries she solved.
The facilities and decor found in the property were outstanding. A warm welcome and everything one needed, and more, were provided.

Beautiful and well equipped house
We had a couple of days at Elise's house and really enjoyed our stay. The house is tastefully decorated and very spacious. Everything was exactly as described and no detal was missing. The only suggestion for improvement is to provide a dropped pin and a picture of how to find the yard as it took is a while to locate the house.

Perfect rental
The rental was very accurate to description. The owner Elise was amazing in her instructions and communications. House was very clean. You are provided with useful things to start off with, such as paper towels and dishwasher detergent. Currently, staying at another VRBo and we’re not provided with any first essentials. Would definitely stay there again if we come back to the Cambridge area!

Wonderful oasis within easy reach of Cambridge and m11
We stayed here for a few days before heading elsewhere for a family funeral. My elderly father my two teenage children and my husband and I stayed here for five days This house was as good as it looks and more. The attention to detail in the items available in the rooms. They have thought of everything. I am very very fussy about cleanliness and this could not have been any cleaner. I had a few queries before we booked and these were answered very clearly and promptly. The rooms are well planned and we loved sitting in the garden in the evening. Wifi was good for the teenagers. There is a pub round the corner where we ate twice. We had a Chinese too from a very popular restaurant in the village. Five minute drive to the park and ride and we had a lovely couple of days in Cambridge. The village is very pretty and everybody we met including the property owner was very friendly. There are a couple of shops where you can get supplies if most things within walking distance. We will be looking for an excuse to return.

Beautiful Clean house with gorgeous garden
Such a brilliant property.
Two adults and four offspring stayed during the heatwave. Lovely large garden with fairy lights made for a lovely BBQ. Each room had a fan and the house was equipped with absolutely everything.
Probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!

Fabulous house to stay
We had a lovely time staying here celebrating our Sisters 50th birthday. Very clean comfortable & definitely home from home. Couldn’t fault it one bit.

This is a superb property - very clean with high quality facilities. Very spacious inside, lovely garden and parking spaces as well. Close to shops, pub and a short drive to Cambridge and Duxford Imperial War Museum etc.

Luxury in a quiet village
The property lacked for nothing - comfortable, well laid out and decorated, and particularly well equipped. One of the best self-catering rentals we have ever stayed in. Communication with Elise was quick and easy and the welcome basket was impressive. The house is in a good location for visiting the area. We took in Cambridge & Ely, Wimpole Hall Estate and IWM Duxford. The village has two small supermarkets and a range of places to eat. Everything about the property was excellent.

Absolutely wonderful house and host
This has to be one of the very best properties we have ever stayed at. It was easy to book and Elise was in touch as soon as we had booked to welcome us in advance of our stay. We received comprehensive information before we arrived and Elise was there to greet us and show us round the house on arrival.
The house is absolutely wonderful, beautifully decorated, comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need or want. The appliances are excellent, everything is of such a high standard.
We were left welcome hamper which was very generous and included cereal, milk, bread, eggs, fruit, biscuits, wine etc, more than we have ever seen before and very much appreciated.
There is ample parking at the back and the garden is lovely. We were lucky to have warm evenings and could sit out and enjoy the peace and quiet and the lovely garden lights.
This property is one of the best we have ever stayed in and felt the owners went that extra mile to make our stay the best it could be. It is the small touches that make such a difference
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be able to stay again sometime.

Wonderful getaway weekend!
We had a wonderful time at Elise's property this last weekend. Communication with her was easy and everything was clear for check-in/check-out. We arrived late on Friday and she was there to greet us and show us around. She'd even included a hamper with many food essentials which was so thoughtful! (Cereal, eggs, milk, wine, bread, fruit, etc...) The place was immaculately clean and all the rooms and space as mentioned in the posting. Only a 15/20 minute drive into Cambridge, and enough local amenities in the area as well. We had such a lovely time on our friends' getaway from London and would definitely recommend! If we ever need to stay in the area again, I would definitely check Elise's place for availability. You will not regret booking :) x
