Very enjoyable short stay with family friends at this well appointed property. All the appliances and amenities your large group could need. Pool, basketball court and lake were big hits with our teens.

We loved our stay at Ivy Springs! The house is spacious, beautiful, and unique. The property is gorgeous and tucked away, yet still very accessible to Charlottesville. The house, kitchen, and bathrooms were well stocked with supplies and the beds were very comfortable. There is a lot to enjoy at the house from the pool, hot tub, outdoor space, pool table, air hockey, ping pong, basketball, kayaks, and lots of games and lounging spaces. The property manager was very kind and responsive to all of the feedback I gave her and was quick to accommodate our needs. Our only minor complaint was that there were a few areas of the house that didn’t feel as clean as we’d like it, including some stains on linens and older/stained bathroom fixtures. This did not detract from our stay at all and even though the house shows its age and has some quirks, we absolutely loved staying here. We would highly recommend Ivy Springs to anyone for a family getaway! All the kids ages 7 and up loved it there and our family agreed we would happily plan another trip to the property again!

We had a wonderful time staying here for my bachelorette party. The house was gorgeous, and was even better than the pictures! It was in a beautiful location close to downtown but far enough to really have your own space. We had a large group and everyone was comfortable—a huge bonus was the big dining room table for everyone to enjoy a meal together. The property manager and hosts were extremely flexible and accommodating and when I had a question about check out, they answered in a matter of minutes. Could not recommend more!

Was the perfect place to stay and enjoy the pool/bbq with friends. The fire pit by the pond was great for a hangout spot after dark. Great property would recommend.

The grounds of this house are amazingly beautiful - well manicured and lots of room to play. Deer walked by on a daily basis and the pond was great for fishing. And it was very quiet!
While the house has a somewhat quirkly set-up, the beds were all comfortable and the items we needed were all there. There were just a few minor items that needed updating and fixed, but nothing that prevented us from having a nice time.
The host was very quick to respond when we needed a few minor items.
The only thing that bothered our group were the amount of bees that were in and beside the pool area. When we first arrived, they feasted on the hydrangea bushes poolside, but as the week went on, they decided we tasted better and a few of us got bit. If you are allergic to bees (thankfully none of us were!), then you might want to reconsider your stay (or go at a time when the bees aren't so busy.)

This property was the perfect spot for what we needed. My children and grandchildren, and I stayed there for two nights while we were in Charlottesville for my father’s funeral. The only drawback was that the pool is not heated and it was the first week of May, which, according to the description it should have been. Everything else about the beautiful property was great.

I recently stayed at this property and I have nothing but great things to say about my experience. From the moment I booked the property to the moment I checked out, everything was seamless and easy.
The outdoor area was also fantastic, with a beautiful pool and plenty of space to relax and soak up the sun.
The location of the property was perfect - it was close to all the attractions I wanted to visit, but also secluded enough to provide a peaceful and relaxing escape. .
The property manager was extremely helpful and responsive throughout my stay, answering any questions I had and making sure everything was taken care of. I really appreciated the level of customer service I received.
Overall, my stay at this VRBO property was absolutely fantastic.

The property is beautiful and the house is older than depicted. Still nice and we had a great time, but some TLC is needed to bring the house up to standards based on the price. (i.e. rickety spiral stair case, clogged sinks, oven replaced and covered with plastic) Also, there is a live in caretaker that we did not hear about until after booking.

The grounds of Ivy Springs are exceptional and the house is very nice for a large group. We enjoyed the spacious dining room for our entire family to celebrate Thanksgiving. The kitchen is large and stocked with pots, pans and cooking utensils. There was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves. While there is an elevator available, this property is not advertised as handicap accessible and an individual in a wheelchair would have a hard time utilizing the elevator or the downstairs bedrooms as door frames are a bit narrow. It would be beneficial to check measurements prior to booking.

We were in Charlottesville for our son’s wedding. Our entire family was able to stay together at this property which was wonderful. We also were able to provide a place for members of the wedding party to come and get ready for the wedding as a group in the privacy of this beautiful home. It made for a great meeting place. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the grounds were very well kept. The inside of the home does need some updating and we had a few issues over the weekend but the property manager was extremely responsive and did her best to take care of the issues. It seems the owners plan to continue to invest in the property to make the necessary upgrades. The interior layout of the home is a bit funky but it didn’t impact our stay at all. The kitchen was well supplied and it was nice to find basics there which many VRBO rentals seem to forget to include.

This was the perfect place for bringing together our family of twelve (five children, ages 2 1/2-7 and six adults) for 4 days of fun. The outdoors is idyllic with many options for all types of activities., from swimming in the pool, to trying to catch tadpoles and frogs in the pond, to playing in the sand and enjoying yard games on the lawn. The house has lots of space for everyone to spread out and is well equipped to handle crowds. We would definitely consider a return visit!

Deceiving Photos
We were floored by the actual condition of the place - it was dirty (black mold in bathrooms), filthy coffee pot, dead frogs in the pool upon arrival, had no A/C for a night in the middle of July, kayaks and paddleboat filled with weeks' worth of water and completely unusable, cat from basement apartment wandered up. I could go on, but suffice it to say, the 5 star reviews are based on the grounds and views, pics are selective and completely outdated, and owners, who claim to be customer service oriented, are really concerned about maximizing their profit on this one. Read the other reviews closely and you'll see the trends and excuses (it's hard water that stains the shower curtains, unsafe stairs are 'designed to flex', and owners are shocked at anything less than 5 star reviews). Save your money and stay somewhere clean with people who actually care about their guests' experience.

We had our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner at the house. The house/property was absolutely perfect for this. There is so much room that everyone felt very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place, especially for family gatherings.

Amazing stay!
We stayed here for my bachelorette party with 16 girls. The grounds and home were absolutely beautiful. The huge kitchen and pool/outdoor area were highlights for us. The owners were very responsive and helpful anytime we needed anything and had great recommendations for things to do in the area. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back again soon!

Choose this house based on its amenities and it did not disappoint. We had 3 generations staying and there was something for everyone, the pool and hot tub to watching the sunset on the dock. The place is quiet and remote but In just a few minutes can enjoy Charlottesville and other fun places to visit. Really enjoyed the time

Girls weekend in VA Wine Country
Our group of girls age ranges 30 - 60 had a great time at this rental, perfectly located in VA Wine Country. The house was as advertised, clean and well suited for a group of 12 to spend time at the rental in addition to exploring the local area. The pool and large dining room were two highlights. We'd recommend this spot for a weekend getaway for a larger group!

Beautiful property for a family vacation!!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed our "staycation" with extended family members who were visiting from out of town. The location was ideal (quick drive to downtown Charlottesville and wineries in Crozet/Nelson) and the property was absolutely gorgeous. The pond was perfect for fishing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. The pool was lovely and well maintained. The home was very comfortable and well equipped for dining and entertaining. We would definitely stay here again!!!

We held a large family gathering to celebrate our son's graduation from UVA and everyone loved being at Ivy Springs. The kitchen and eating spaces were perfect for our family of 17 people, but the outside space was the real treat with the lake, pool and hot tub. There are actually 6 bedrooms - 4 upstairs (3 with en suite bathrooms) and 2 downstairs. Highly recommend!

Idyllic Setting
We were a group of adults renting this property for my daughter’s wedding, 5 miles away from this property. We had a post wedding brunch for the wedding party. Our experience was fantastic. We used the kayaks, and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Our guests were star-struck with the house. Carla was especially prompt in answering questions, which was greatly appreciated. I can think of nothing that would have made our stay more enjoyable. It was positively unforgettable. We will always be grateful to the owner for making their home available to us for this event.

Wonderful stay!
This property was perfect for our group of 6 families reuniting from across the country for our 20th UVA med school reunion. There was plenty of space for lounging and sleeping and nothing was lacking. The owners/managers were available but gave us privacy to enjoy ourselves. We look forward to renting this space again!

Absolutely amazing property for a girls getaway
This property speaks for itself - it's just as gorgeous as the pictures and was a great place for our girls weekend away. The owner and property manager were available as soon as we reserved the property. They helped with everything from check-ins and check outs, local recommendations and even a private chef (who was excellent!). Overall, they're an extremely accommodating team -- more so than any other rental I've worked with previously. Thanks for a great stay!

A dream place!
This place was beautiful and perfect for what we needed. It snowed just before we arrived and the lake was partially frozen. It was an absolutely picturesque stay. The owner and property manager are easy to work with and very communicative! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful location and well stocked house for a family reunion
We had a terrific family gathering of 12 adults and several children. The bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the sleeper sofas, worked wonderfully. The extension eating areas and multiple dish washers, ovens, and refrigerators were also very handy. The grounds are beautiful and provided tons of fun for the children - from kayaking to basketball. The proximity to UVA was also a big plus, with an easy drive to grounds for basketball and football games. We highly recommend Ivy Springs

Amazing wedding venue
We had our son's wedding at the property and it was a dream wedding. The property was exactly like on the photos, the house manager and owner were incredibly responsive, the house itself is simply amazing. We could not have wished for a better place. We are planning to have family re-unions at the property in the future and re-visit the place as often as we can.
