Relaxation, seclusion, privacy, and immaculate views is exactly what we were looking for and precisely what we got!
Couldn’t have asked for a better getaway from the hustle and bustle of Dallas! Our only hiccup was one of the A/C units was not working to it’s potential - we were able to communicate with the property manager and they promptly got it fixed for us and the rest of our stay was fabulous.
NOTE: if you plan to bring pets and go out hiking—the paths are rather rocky and is hard on their paws for longer distances.

The cabin location was absolutely beautifully! Pictures don’t do it justice. We loved the seclusion and peacefulness. The kitchen was well stocked (a plus for us bc we like cooking). We really enjoyed riding some of the trails in the area in our jeep. We would definitely love to come back in the fall for the beautiful views!

A beautiful oasis. Super clean inside. Washing dishes in the sink was actually joyful with that view. We settled in for two days and didn't leave once, it was so cozy. Definitely will bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle next time. Our Mazda CX9 did struggle a bit getting up the dirt/gravel steep inclines, but it was a fun adventure. Having wifi was an unexpected surprise, so we got to binge some favorite shows when we weren't gazing at the view. Some trouble with bugs (Harvestmen spiders hatched outside during our stay blocking the front door and gathering in shaggy clumps for about 24 hours before magically disappearing our last day - grateful for a quick Google search that helped identify them - thank you, wifi!!!), but that is to be expected in a remote, mountain cabin situation. Our only complaint was that someone in a neighboring cabin was using a drone nightly and early mornings. It would hover directly above our deck and seemed as if it was peering in the windows. This is not in control of the owners, of course. Just really not friendly of the neighboring renters. We will definitely be back when the weather is cooler, and plan to bring our teens...who will be much more on board with coming knowing there is wifi. Thank you for a beautiful stay! What a lovely property!

Zero problems. Excellent cabin living quarters. Kitchen fully integrated with living room and the superb views. An absolutely perfect, off-the-grid experience!

Glad we got back again to take in those views. My pics still can’t do justice to being there. Just as last time, we especially enjoyed the views, the quiet, and walking the trails nearby. Hope to be back again and soon.

My family and I selected this property for our vacation because it was listed under the “family friendly” section but when we arrived it was abundantly clear that the property was anything but that. The doors to the back deck don’t have locks on them. Instead they are kept shut by a 2x4. This is not unsafe but also a fire hazard. When I brought this up to the host, they acted like it wasn’t a big deal. The property was also unclean when we arrived. Finally, the road to access the property is much more dangerous than the description provided. The hills are much steeper than described by the host. My family and I felt so unsafe at this property after a disastrous first night that we paid to stay in a different location for the final two nights of the trip. We would recommend this property to anyone. I’ve attempted to get a refund from the host but they refuse to grant anything.

We celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary and wanted a low key getaway. The Summit House did not disappoint. We were able to watch the sunset, sunrise and even a dense fog sunrise which was absolutely stunning. We even stargazed one night and saw a couple of shooting stars. We can't wait to plan our next trip and check out the other properties. Thank you for the beautiful memories.

This cabin is great place to get away and unplug from everything. Very clean We took food & cooked our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. We went with another couple and enjoyed sitting by the fire pit and sitting on the back porch & relaxing during the day. Had a great time and didn’t want to leave . We hope to make another trip in the fall.

We enjoyed the large deck and amazing view of the lake. The birds and wind were the only noises we heard except the short time the generator ran (back up for the solar power) which was understandable because it was cloudy the entire 4 days. The house was cozy and just the right size. The multiple windows made enjoying the lake view and distant storms wonderful. I would have liked to have had blinds or curtains in the bedroom to use if desired while trying to sleep. The owner was very responsive to an A/C issue and it was fixed rapidly. Overall a terrific rental experience.

We had a memorable weeklong stay at the Summit with our 1.5 and 3.5 year old during the eclipse. The view is truly stunning, and the campfire is placed perfectly for s’mores every night. The cabin was just the right size for us…comfy mattress, soft throw blankets, well-equipped kitchen. We were a little concerned about the ride up and down the mountain, but it was actually really fun for our 3 year old, and we went into town almost every day. We did need 4-wheel drive in one stretch going up. In town, we absolutely loved the Hochatown Rescue Center (went multiple times), and we also did the mining and sand art (in the same complex as the HRC), Beavers Bend State Park, and the wildlife safari. All super fun. The weather was sunny for the first 5 days and cloudy/rainy for the end, but we had fun every day. There was a storm one morning that was so intense…deck chairs flying around, but it was cozy in the cabin, and was followed by blue skies. No issues with the off grid aspect…the generator kicked on a few times for a bit when it was cloudy…otherwise we wouldn’t have noticed anything.

The views were amazing and the environment is relaxing! I highly recommend. The drive up the mountain to the home felt like an adventure. Spent one day fishing at the lake, we left the cares of the world behind!
Ashley, Andy and Deborah provided good information and communication was prompt! Will definitely visit again!

The additional directions provided ensured we arrived without getting lost and our stock SUV made it up without a problem. We discovered a small issue our first morning but I messaged the owners and they were very quick to resolve it. We loved the views, the location, and had a great time. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! It looks even more heavenly in person! Our three kids had a blast and loved playing on the large porch.
You absolutely need a 4 wheel drive to get here smoothly. The description of the property is exactly as described.
The drive in is scenic and beautiful! The last few minutes you need to pay attention and slow down! There is a reason they call it ‘The Summit’!
You are UP THERE!!! But, that’s why the view is so spectacular.
I’d recommend this cabin to everyone!
Enjoy every minute you’re there because it is a special place.

This property is gorgeous and peaceful! Nice spot for a remote get away. Well worth the drive to get there. As mentioned in the listing - the drive is best suited for SUVs. It was a fun drive in my Jeep Wrangler. We lost cell service on the drive in but had it at the property, and the Starlink internet worked well. The house was clean, well stocked, comfortable and had amazing views. The property manager was easily reached when we had a question about sheets, and the issue was quickly resolved. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect place for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise over the mountains and the night sky full of stars. We enjoyed countless hours around the campfire. Inside the cabin was very cozy with a lot of natural light coming through every window.

We stayed here for our 30th anniversary. We’re locals and have stayed in cabins in the area many times. This cabin, hands down, is the best! We could not get enough of that view!!!
Would recommend to anyone, locals or out of towners as a way to fully experience the beauty of southeast Oklahoma.

Great stay at the Summit House. Got to see the lake fogged over. Perfect weather again! We came home with an accidental souvenir. I thought I had packed our corkscrew only to realize when we got home that we had an extra (we have the same one that wia in the cabin). Sorry😬😬😬

Let me start off by saying that the views are absolutely amazing. Getting out of the city and being able to disconnected was exactly what we needed. My fiancé and I booked this cabin back in October when we were just dating and little did I know that I would be getting proposed to up in the summit house. So thank you so much for helping make that moment so special
We did have a bit of car problems while up there but Ashley and her team did respond right away to my messages and definitely helped get us the help me needed. Looking forward to booking the Phoenix house next

We had the best weekend staying in Broken Bow! This property was beautiful, had amazing views, and was such a good getaway! We loved watching the sunrise, sunsets, and especially the moon rise.
They were so hospitable and easy to work with! We’ll definitely be back!

This was our 5th trip to these cabins and our second time staying in The Summit. We love it here!!! It feels like home away from home at this point. We rented 3 of their 4 cabins for extended family this weekend and it was a walk but worth it to visit. Can’t wait to come back!

There are no words to express how amazing the view is from the cabin. It’s absolutely amazing. The road up to the cabin through the woods is just beautiful itself. The cabin was super nice as well, very clean. I’m definitely booking again 🤗

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and had an amazing time. The views were beautiful at all times of the day and night; we loved watching the sun rise over the mountains and the lake. We saw plenty of deer and other wildlife near the property which was fun. Very secluded and well stocked property, we had everything we needed! Highly recommended!

Absolutely wonderful cabin. The views are breathtaking. I recommend getting up early and watching the sunrise. I love how you can enjoy the views from the master bedroom, kitchen, or living room. My family and I loved all the wildlife/critters we encountered around the property.
There is a trail that leads you down to the lake, but if you’re walking from The Summit house be prepared that it is 5.2 miles round trip AND the way back is mostly up the mountain so your legs will burn! :)
Also, 5 stars for the property manager. She was excellent!. Thanks for an amazing stay.

The views do not disappoint! Communication with the property owners was excellent. They called us the day of to let us know about about an issue they were taking care of and they were quick to take care of another issue when i brought it to their attention. Very pleasant and professional.

Our stay was great! The ride up was scary at first but we were pros by the time we left. Definitely grab groceries on the way unless you don’t mind driving back down. The condo was clean. The view was phenomenal. The only thing that I didn’t like was we were only left 4 towels and 3 rags. There were 2 of us for 3 nights. I didn’t reach out to anyone, we just reused. It wasn’t worth asking someone to bring us more. There is a trail to the lake just outside the gate. We drove about a mile and parked to walk the rest of the way/another mile ish. It was a wonderful trip! We will be back, with the 4 wheeler next time.

When we first arrived, we could tell the place was well cleaned. The drive up for us was lots of fun! Then the view on the patio was great. I am very happy we read the guide ahead of time. There is a lot there, but there is a reason for nearly everything. Even when I was not sure about something, I was able to reach the owners easily.

We loved our stay at The Summit house! The view is amazing. We saw wildlife on every trip in and out. Unfortunately we did not see the bear they had seen a couple of weeks prior but we did look for it. We will definitely recommend to everyone and will be back with family to enjoy !
10.0 / 10.0
My family and I dearly enjoyed our stay at The Summit House. The view is indeed the best it could be. The cherry on top was the large black bear that came up to the back porch and looked around! My son was the only one here when the bear visited, but he got excellent footage an we were giddy about it all weekend! Definitely recommend, although in the future i would come only when the air conditioners aren't needed. The only small downside to the cabin is the generator runs at sunrise and sunset, dampening an otherwise perfect scene. I would love to stay here and never kick the generator on! Recommend with reservations in the hottest part of summer, fully recommend in fairer or cold weather!
4.0 / 10.0
The stunning view of Broken Bow from the cabin is breathtaking. However, the cabin itself was quite uncomfortable. When we arrived, it was extremely hot inside, with the air conditioning unit being almost as old as a fossil, and barely effective. We tried to mitigate this by purchasing a window unit, but it was not enough. When we contacted the owner, Andy, about the unbearable heat, he suggested that we were exaggerating the situation or lying, as the previous tenants had no issues. His dismissive attitude was quite unsettling.
Moreover, he blamed us for the malfunctioning AC, implying we didn't understand how to use it properly. His behavior felt like gaslighting, making us feel responsible for the non-functioning AC. Even when he arrived with a temperature reader, he held it too close to the vent, measuring a misleading cool temperature.
The cabin, with no curtains, was baking hot. Despite admitting the cabin was very hot, Andy refused to invest in a better air conditioner. He agreed to refund us, but then proceeded to nickel and dime us over any dog hair they could find, although the cabin was advertised as dog-friendly. He also falsely claimed we brought an extra dog to charge us more.
We were so preoccupied with the air conditioning issue that we didn't even mention the fridge and freezer were not cooling our food. In short, if you want a comfortable, pet-friendly cabin with a respectful owner, avoid this place. Andy's handling of our experience was disappointing.
